Hee hee. This is a hoot. This is a perfect book for older siblings and children who will soon have a baby brother or sister join the household. I say ages 3 to 7 because by age 8, kids will want a more sophisticated book and kids younger than age 2-1/2 or 3 are not likely to understand enough to get a kick out of the book.
While human children want to be the good child in the family, in this monster family, it’s being the worst that’s the coveted position. The story is very funny and cu More...

Note to self: If someone you know is having a second child, buy this book for them!
This is a about a girl monster who is jealous of her baby brother, because he is the worst monster and gets all the attention. She wants to be the worst monster. I think this book has a cute ending.

This is a great book to teach a child who is struggling with a new baby in the house. The older sister has compition with the baby, and feels ignored by family. She trys to get rid of her baby brother, in order to proove to her parents that she is the very worst monster.

The illustrations look a bit old school now, but the story is great for older siblings who aren't exactly pleased by the arrival of a younger brother or sister. I did this as part of a monster-themed storytime.

Who is the worst monster of all? Hazel wants to be, but everyone only coos and caws over how bad her baby brother Billy is. Yes, very silly and very repetitive. A fun read aloud for beginner ELLs.

This simple story of sibling rivalry has been almost an addiction for our younger daughter for as long as we can remember. Fun, monstery illustrations, simple repetitive text and a fair bit of mischief may be the reason.

It was scary. Favorite part: When the monster baby tried to eat the judge.
