This story is told mostly in one long flashback by Kasey, who is in love with his best friend Devyn. He's miserable after four years of watching man after man parade through Devyn's bed, and him there to witness it all, first as his college roommate and now while they spend their last summer before getting jobs in the real world at a cabin on a lake. Kasey's objective for the summer was to tell Devyn all about his feelings, even if they're ultim

'Summer Surprise' may sound like a fun, light summer read, but let me warn you: the angst may kill you. I was certainly about to kill one or both of the main characters throughout most of the book. On one hand I wanted to shake them up and make them come to their senses (the common sense type), but on the other hand I could see why they were having issues. Sort of. After all, being best friends and just hanging out together is quite different from admitting there are deeper emotions involved. An ...more

You and your best friend of four years are gays. You're in love with him for... ever, but didn't say anything. You arranged a whole summer to be with him in your parents' lake cabin so you could confess your feeling. Yet, the whole summer he (and yourself) slept with a series of other guys because neither of you said anything or even tried to understand what's going on.

This book is another example of an author projecting her/his views on men, that is, they don't talk to each other at al

Kasey and Devyn are best ,but Kasey wants so much more from his sexy friend. He just needs to tell Devyn how he feels. He has it all planned out, a vacation to his family’s cabin, confessing how he feels and then spending the rest of the holiday in bed. But, even the best laid plans get lead astray when there are boys coming out of the wood work and throwing themselves at Devyn. Now with the vacation coming to

3.5 I loved the way the author told the background of the story as Kasey telling the summer’s events to his friend Steph. Steph and Mrs. Jorgenson (ESPECIALLY Mrs Jorgenson) made this book for me. I loved the strong, sassy women, and Mrs J had a way of showing her soft side in a funny, brash way.

While I understand that for most of the book Kasey hasn’t told his best friend of four years, Devyn, how he feels about it, it still gave me a squicky feeling at what

This book was brilliant! It's a short read which I really like although in this instance I really wish I had more time with these boys...

For Kasey being in love with his best friend Devyn has been a four year long torture fest. There has been a steady steam of boys and girls in and out of his bed and it has sucked for Kasey. Now they've just finished college and have one last summer together before heading out into the real world and this is Kasey's last chance to come clean about his feelings f

A bit of melodrama about two boys who are in love with each other, but can't seem to communicate. I think I actually liked some of the supporting characters more than the two boys involved. The funny older lady neighbor and Steph seem to be the smart ones here.

My chief observation is that these guys are acting a little bit younger than their age in this story because I'm thinking that Devyn's endless parade of boys would have provoked a much stronger reaction much earlier from Kasey. I would ha

Gosh what a horrible novella. I would kick Devyn to the moon and never look back, he wasn't worth the trouble. I mean really, having sex for the whole summer and then he is prepared to finally commit himself to Kasey? Who in right mind would take a guy like Devyn just so easily as Kasey did? No one! He wasn't worth it.

I loved this book! I wanted to slap these boys at time but it was cute, sweet and loving. My only complaint is that it was too short! Of course that's always my complaint when I love a book! Can't wait until she comes out with something else!

Teegan Loy began writing a long time ago. Notebooks filled with ideas were stacked around the house. One day, she sat down with renewed ambition and something fantastic happened: she completed a story.

Now most of her time is spent writing, but she takes an occasional break to go to the movies, where she imagines her stories on the big screen. She also enjoys watching hockey, filling her IPod with
