On the day of its release, I knew I needed to study instead of reading Futures & Frosting. So I made a deal with myself...I would only read F&F while in the bathroom. My tummy hurts and I blame you for it ! Good god , you'd think Tara Sivec might have tamed her ways with her over the top comedy ( Which I love by the way ) but nooooooooooooooooo the woman just keeps getting better and better !

Futures and Frosting is just like the icing on top of a cake , make that chocolate cake , with a cherry on top and chocolate tid bits on the sides and also some melted chocolate drizzle for that extra flavor ! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !

I don’t think any author has ever made me laugh as hard as Tara Sivec has in. my. life!!

I’m pretty sure I laughed more in a single page of this book than I have in the whole of most other books (and yes, I’m talking about the funny ones). I cried, snorted and howled with laughter (dignity be damned) and honestly, my cheeks still hurt from grinning.

I had a major "MOMENT" when I realized that the second book in the Chocolate lovers series was out! The first book Seduction and Snacks was so funny and sweet; I was a HUGE fan of Claire and Carter's! So when I was sitting at home and found out is was released early I squeeeed like a freak, dropped everything I was doing and immediately dived in. The first novel in this series I found humorous. There were parts I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. I loved Drew and Gavin because he reminded me a friend’s little boy. The first novel in this series I found humorous. There were parts I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. I loved Drew and Gavin because he reminded me a friend’s little boy. Reading the other reviews of Futures and Frosting I expected much of the same comedic style. And I wasn’t wrong. However, this time I found the humour in the book more annoying than enjoyable.

I liked Claire the first time around. I could identify with her as a mother who didn’t want children and then suddenly bam! we have kids. How the author described her and her interactions with Gavin I thought she was a great mother. This time though, her mothering skills went down the toilet. She always seemed to be getting sloshed and eating pot cookies—which I know, wasn’t her fault really. I just think her character was way too immature this time around to be taken seriously as a 25 year old mother. But then I guess the whole point of the book isn’t all that serious, is it?

I have no real feelings towards Carter. Sure he seems like the greatest guy in the world and he’s someone every girl wants to trap and bring home to their parents. He had a few good one liners—but then all of them did—and that’s as far as it went for me.

Now Gavin. Dear God Gavin. This kid went from, “OMG this kid is outrageously hilarious” to “OMG this kid needs a good old fashioned spanking”. Sivec pushed it too far with this little guy, in my opinion, with what parents would let their children away with. Even the child I know that I compared him too doesn’t go as far as Gavin does. Why? Because his parents DISCIPLINE him! Why wasn’t anyone disciplining this child? Every once in a while Claire or Carter would tell him not to say something, but if you’re laughing while you’re “scolding” it doesn’t say much, does it?

The only thing that I actually enjoyed about this one was the way Carter proposed to Claire. And Drew. Because I could never get enough Drew. But am I the only one who thought of Friends where Mike was trying to propose to Phoebe and it just kept screwing up? Because that’s all I could think about. But in the end, I really did love how Carter decided to do it.

But this book still fell flat and just didn’t do it for me. Honestly, the best part of the whole book for me would probably be the cover. I do love the cover.

When Futures and Frosting by Tara Sivec was released EARLY I not only ran but jumped to the computer to purchase the book. I stayed up all night long, until way pass 4 in the morning reading the novel in one long sitting. I have been in love with every character from the first book and was so excited to find out what is in store for Claire and Carter.

I laughed and fell in love with the gang all over again. Why can’t it be this fun in real life too? Also, can Carter be any better of a man? Really… just not fair this perfect guy only exists in a book… Ahh! So Futures and Frosting picks up right where Seduction and Snacks ends, Claire and Carter are living together adjusting to their new little family finally together. Claire is itching for a ring on her finger but little does she know Carter is already steps ahead of her wanting her to become his wife but all his tries of proposing were ruined one way or the other; I felt so bad for the guy, especially at the baseball game. The book continues with their daily lives, Liz & Jim’s wedding and of course Drew (one of the funniest guys ever in history of books) still dating Jenny.

This book is full of laughs, a few “what the f’s”, and a whole love of vagina’s. The scene with Carter and the beer pong made me fall in love with him even more. It was my favorite scene in the book. Gavin was still the star of the book stealing every scene he was in with his smart and funny mouth. The Soprano references and the talk from the girls and the boys about The Real Housewives of Orange County were hilarious. As much as I enjoyed the book I was wishing it was longer in length. I am selfish and just wanted more and to hear more funny stories. I loved the ending and thought it was perfect. I really liked the epilogue three years later and hearing about Gavin as an almost 9 year-old.

I am giving Futures and Frosting 4 stars. The fact a book can make me laugh as much as this book does deserve a lot of stars!(less)

Dare I say it? Better than the first book...and that is saying A LOT, since I loved book one so much. Carter, I love you. I would have gladly had your babies. Claire is just as hilarious as always. Their group of friends had me almost peeing my pants I was laughing so hard. My only complaint, it ended. Lol. I could have kept reading about these people forever!

The ending to Seduction and Snacks was great but I didn't feel like it made it where there absolutely had to be a sequel. I was thrilled there was and that I got to see what was happening next for these guys! In Futures and Frosting, we pick up just a few weeks or so after S & S ends. The gang is getting ready for Liz and Jim's wedding (view spoiler) Claire undergoes a personality change after the wedding and can't make up her mind if she detests the idea of getting married one day or is upset Carter hasn't popped the question yet. This leads to some seriously funny moments! In fact, the whole book is seriously funny! From pot cookies to almost getting arrested for public indecency, this was a non stop ride on the funny train. I have to be honest though and say that even though I really loved everything about this book, I still love Seduction more. Maybe because it was first... My absolute favorite part of Futures has to be the ending though! The epilogue is... well, epic! :) Its such a perfect ending for this story. I have heard that there will be a third book that will be Drew and Jenny's story, which would be insanely hilarious I'm sure, but don't quote me on that as I don't know for certain! Here's hoping with fingers crossed. Lets not forget to mention Gavin and his insanely obscene mouth and the crazy shit that comes out of it! He is hilarious!! But we wouldn't expect anything less, would we! :) I will never hear the word vagina and not think of him again! 3.5 stars. I LOVED Seduction and Snacks but this sequel was just okay. More of a contemporary romance with the real comedy reserved until later on in the story. If you have a husband/boyfriend/significant other, or have ever had one that snores, the first chapter of this book alone is worth the price! That woman knows how to make a person laugh; she seriously needs to make one of those daily calendars for my desk so I can have a giggle 365 days a year. Or maybe she can get a job writing for one of those 3o minute sitcoms or come to my local Funny Bone Comedy Club. Claire really has a kind heart but what I really like about her is her sense of humor. I love her diarrhea of the mouth. In many ways she reminds me of myself because I forget my filter at home on a daily basis. For instance, last week I told a guy at work he needed to cut his hair. He looked at me for a minute and then I said, "or you can leave it and if you lose hair on top, you have enough for a comb over". Okay, back to Claire, I wish she was real so we could be friends, however, I would keep her as far away from my Facebook account as humanly possible. Oh, and I don't know if I would let her meet my mother.

Carter is almost perfect! I completely love that guy! Yes, he has some silly insecurities about not being husband material but to be honest, I enjoyed his dorky cuteness. He always seems to go the extra mile for Claire...whether it be soothing her when his parents walk in during dinner roll baseball or trying to get that pot cookie out of her stomach, he is always there. He never misses an opportunity to sneak in a little kiss to her neck or wrap his arms around her. And to put a cherry on the sundae, he is also a great father. Now, if he would just take those laxative Jenny suggested to ease his snoring, he would be the complete package (LOL)!

Together Claire and Carter are too freaking cute! For some reason, this romance seems more real than other contemporary romances. Maybe it was the fact that they don't cuddle all night long or have naked time five times a day. Whatever it is, I really felt these two and would gladly have them over for dinner anytime.

Tara came out swinging with her supporting characters again in this one! Drew, I still love the t-shirts! Jenny, I hope you figured out the Benjamin Wa Balls; I don't think you are supposed to actually "try" them in the store! Liz, I hope you found a cure for your female issues but for future reference, guys don't like to hear about them. Jim, you genuinely seem to have the most maturity but drinking and thinking may not be your thing. And, George, I am glad you didn't sell Claire to the traveling circus!

I am sure anyone who read Seduction and Snacks remembers Gavin and his runaway mouth. Let me just say that mouth is still running in Futures and Frosting! He is really a walking episode of Kids Say the Darndest Things. I was rolling on the floor when he was talking about his parent's love life, "Mommy and Daddy make a lot of noise when they kiss. Mommy talks to God a lot. I talk to God sometimes too. I asked him for a puppy and a new monster truck but I was nice and didn't yell at him like Mommy does". I would love to interview him!

So in a nutshell, Tara knows how to make a person laugh like their life depends on it! I wondered....do the occupants of her house have to go around wearing diapers because the risk of peeing their pants is so high? I can't imagine her being anything less than hilarious in real life. And on top of being a funny girl, she created a solid story line that had me flipping pages from beginning to end.

Tara Sivec, I hope you are working on your next manuscript because I am not going to be able to wait too long!
