My Review: 5/5*

*This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

W.o.w. If a book deserves a 5* rating it's this one! Smiles' world building is fantastic, I was drawn in from the word go and devoured the book in my free time. Foreseen shows the process undertaken by Kinzi, our main protagonist, and her adapting to becoming a part of the Adept community. Adept's are a group of people that can manipulate the thoughts of those around them for the 'greater good'. All is not what it seems at t...more

First things first: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review.

And I was very pleasantly surprised by this book.
The premise of the story is not something I would usually read. A girl finds out she has the ability to see/sense things (and people) on quantum level and then manipulate them - Like interfere and make people decide to do something different from what would seem the obvious choice for them. Really I'm not at all science-y enough to understand any of thi...more

I'd like to thank the author for giving me a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.

This book was really good. I liked Kinzie from the start. She was a strong, witty heroine, but with a crippling fear of crowds. I liked the contrast that created, although sometimes the fear really did annoy me, because it kept her from doing things to help herself. Other than that, I really liked her. She learned a great lesson along the way, and her heart was in the right place. I could definite...more

Really Great Read- Highly Recommended

Review:
Disclaimer: Just so this doesn't interfere with my review, I have to note that I didn't like the sexual tone of this book. It's not that most people would consider it bad, and nobody actually had sex in the book, but there were lots of crude references to sex. I'm a young adult, so I don't really like to read that type of thing. Plus, there was a lot- and I mean a lot- of bad language. The F word was probably in here like 25 times. But...more

Honestly if you are a sci-fi fan, urban fantasy fan or just someone looking for a good read. Pick this book up right now. This. Book. Is. Excellent. It has a solid intriguing plot with well thought out characters who maintain believable relationships. It is absolutely wonderful to see the seer amount of character development coming from every member of the cast big or small. It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed this one.

Foreseen is a science-fiction romance set in the future. The novel is written in the first person, the narrative jumps between Kinzie Nicolosi and her boyfriend Greg Langston.

The main focus of the story is on 18 year-old Kinzie, who becomes aware of her latent super power. The power to influence and manipulate human thought. Suddenly, she finds herself being sent to a unique place called the Rothston Institute in Maine. The Rothston Institute houses a special group of young individuals who also...more

I struggled with what to rate this book. I think I would really give it 2.5 stars. I received this book for an honest review and if I hadn't I am not sure I would have finished it. The writing was distractingly descriptive - I would start to get into the story and then there would be a descriptive sentence that would just pull me right out of it and make me stop and say what? Read the line again then be all why? Why did you have to write it like that? It seems like no one else was bothered by th...more

Once you get into it, this is a pretty decent little tale. I was a bit bored at first and wondering if it would pick up, which it did as the characters began to develop and the plot shine through. The zombie game that the book opens up with is interesting, and as a reader, I expected it to lead into something. It really didn't do much, it was more of a snap shot "in the day of" the main character Kinzie.

This book is hard to categorize. At first, you assume that it is sci-fi because it banters a...more

"A strong plot-line coupled with a couple interesting twists" is the best way that I can begin to describe this awesome book. Now, although some may say that this short statement is a bit generic, it is honestly the only way that I can begin to introduce the essence of this story, which offers a highly atypical approach to the current uber-genre that is teen novels. It's not laden with sappy, unconvincing drama, it's not pretentious, it doesn't try to make some broad, sweeping statement about et...more

Review: In receiving a copy from Foreseen, I hadn’t quite known what to expect and after beginning, I was a bit worried I would not be able to even read the first fifty pages let alone finish the novel. The novel started off rather boring and remained so for the first forty pages or so then gradually built up to an interesting enough plot that I decided to stick with the book, curious as to where the author would take the story. Truth be told, even though the book f...more

Prior to signing up for the read for review for Foreseen I hadn't heard of this book. I read through the synopsis and the story sounded interesting so thought I'd put my hand up for a free copy in exchange for a review. I'm so glad I was lucky enough to get a copy - Foreseen was fantastic!!

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book. It turned out to be very different than what I had assumed was going to happen when I read the synopsis. Although I was a tad apprehensive, it quickly became one of those “just one more chapter” stories. I think this is largely due to the alternating perspectives between Kinzie and Greg. In the beginning I was very much invested in Greg’s point of view but near the end I was looking forward t...more

I was given this book for an honest review.
I really wanted to love this book, but love I did not. It is a cool thought to find out that you have a talent that puts you in a group of very few. Though it has been done before, it hasn't been done in this way. So the idea was a good effort but the thought was not totally original.
I struggled with world development and character development. The story was told from the point of view of Kinzie and Greg, and though I did not find it distracting, I w...more

This book was better than I thought it would be. It started out slow but as the story went on I was so caught up in it that I had to see where it went. Kinzie was this shy girl who was afraid of crowds. She started college ans was around these people who she never would have hung out with on her own. Her roommate was this pretty rich girl that always got what and who she wanted and there was this guy name Rex that was an ass. You find out later in the story that Kinzie was apart of this elite gr...more

First things first, I received a free copy of this book by the author (via goodreads.com group Shutup and Read) for a fair and honest review. I do not know the author personally.

4.5 stars. This was an exciting, paranormal romance read. After just a few pages I was drawn into the world of the story and the plight of the characters.
I enjoyed reading how each of the main characters struggled as they faced moral challenges, with some rising above their challenge while others will still need to grow...more

Terri-Lynne Smiles is a good writer, and this is a strong and compelling read.
Foreseen mixes coming of age with quantum foam, romance with political conspiracy, in this able science fiction story. Kinzie Nicolosi, on surface a rather ordinary college student, possesses extraordinary gifts--gifts she will discover and develop throughout the story. Accompanied by her resourceful (if often baffled) boyfriend, Kinzie comes to terms with the depths and double edge of her considerable powers, as her...more

*I received my ecopy in exchange for an honest review.*
At first glance, this read was hard to get into, the way the chapters were written and divided up. Just as I was getting into the storyline, the chapter ended and continued from a different perspective. However, I do enjoy fantasy reads, and I was attracted to the interesting blurb and different scenarios with the college kids' characters. The book cover honestly wasn't v...more

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this read!

This book is about a normal, if socially awkward and fairly nerdy, college girl named Kinzie. Kinzie's world turns upside down when she finds out she is part of a community of "adepts," or people who can manipulate the thoughts & decisions of others (among other 'talents') -- supposedly for the "greater good." Kinzie quickly becomes skeptical about the motives of this community of people (the Rothst...more

More like 3.5 stars out of 5. I enjoyed this book and can see its a good start to a series of sorts. It has interesting elements with the adepts people and their powers and a good concept on how they can change important people's decisions. Very different from what I've read and I really loved that new concept, however, I was frustrated with the main character, Kinzie. She was a huge roller coaster in th...more

*I am giving this 3.5 stars.*

This was quite the interesting ride. The trials that Kinzie Nicolosi and Greg Langston have to endure in this novel are almost unbearable, but that's what makes for a gripping read sometimes. You wonder how they can possibly keep on going in spite of the obstacles they face, but yet you are glad they never really give up even when it seems like all is lost. This is a solid read.

Stayed up too late to finish this one. Good story. Tightly written. Good, realistic characters. Bad guys REALLY bad guys!

Kinzie is in her freshman year at college when strange things start happening. First, she influences a lab rat to make a perfect project, then she finds out she is an Adept - someone who can control others thoughts. Her roommate and date from hell Rex are both adepts as well. As Kinzie learns more about the world of adepts, she also learns more about dating from Greg, her roo...more

Got this book free from Librarything and was asked to give a review. Here goes.

I have to say that I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book. Didn't take me long to get into the story and read it in an evenig as I just wanted to see where the story took me. All I can really say is " What a great book". It was well written and gripping to the end. I really enjoyed reading about Kenzie. She has something that we "common" people don't have. She's an adept meaning she is one of a...more

I absolutely loved this book.
It was smart, witty and original.
The concepts of Adepts held my attention all the way through as well as the love story between the two main characters Kinzie and Greg. I was very happy it was not your typical YA love story where it is love at first sight. Kinzie and Greg's relationship progressed at a stead and healthy pace that was believable.
This is definitely a must read for it's orig...more

Terri-Lynne Smiles had me hooked from the word "go". Foreseen was an absolutely amazing, entertaining, sharp witted tale of a relate-able college girl in an alternative world. Each chapter offered a glimpse into the inner workings of the books main characters, as well as adding a piece to the complicated plot puzzle that left you guessing until the very end. For those that love a deeper story, or even someone looking for a great way to spend a weekend (yes, I read the book in two days), this is...more

Foreseen falls into the New Adult as well as the Young Adult categories. This isn't my usual read, but the tag line and blurb caught my attention. The book took me by surprise, it's an unusual combination of YA romance, suspense, and science fiction with a dark theme and it was kind of strange reading it. One moment I was thinking “how YA” and the next I was “OMG! What is going to happen!?”. It didn't take me long to get caught up in the thrilling tale Terri-Lynne created.

I liked this book. It was fairly easy to read. The story seemed well developed and the characters were generally well developed. I love how Kinzie is a person. I also love how Greg can be an asshole, but struggles with understanding his feelings for Kinzie.

At some points in the storyline I wanted to smack generally Rex, but definitely Greg because they were being idiots, but it did help the storyline. I would recommend it to people I know who l...more

I wasn't sure what I would think of this book, but I really ended up enjoying it. I loved that it was told by two characters, it gave you an interesting perspective on the story. At first the book was a little slower than I would normally like, but it quickly sucked me in completely and got much more exciting. I really can't think of a negative thing to say it was a very good book.

As a child, Terri-Lynne Smiles played the piano, guitar, violin, recorder, autoharp, ocarina, and banjo before taking a good, hard look at herself and realizing she had no musical talent. With a degree in Philosophy and Economics from Denison University, Terri married the love of her life and attended law school at the University of Michigan.
