I admit it. I wasn't expecting to love this book. I’m a sucker for a funny love story so I picked this one out even though I thought it sounded like a ridiculous premise. I figured I’d spend half the book rolling my eyes at slapstick and unbelievability, but still get a few chuckles and a sweet ending.

It does deliver the sweet ending. But the characters also had some sparkle and they all acted like they were in on the joke, as if they knew the set up would probably never happen, but if it did… S

The concept of this story was intriguing to me. The main character participates in a search for a spouse (not the same as dating) through a program initiated by his brother-in-law, who is a pastor.
Over the course of 12 months, he is to spend time with 12 different women who also desire a mate.
Selected through photographs and bios, Adric meets these women for the first time at the start of their particular month. He learns not only about them, but about himself as the year progresses.

This book as a very unique twist to it that made it interesting. Adric's brother-in-law, Tom, devises a dating game where the young lady and a chaperone live with Adric in his home for 30 days to see if they are truly compatible.

What you get is a mixture of fun and heartache. Overall, I enjoyed the book, I did feel like it got a little "long" at the end. However, overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to those looking for a fun read that takes a slightly different approach to reality TV s

Shelves: romance
Do not let the fact that this is marked as genre (Christian) romance dissuade you. The religion element is light (and basically means you're going to see very little in the way of steam) and the story is a lot of fun. Bachelor is matched by his pastor with 12 women, one for each month. He has to figure out what it is that he likes...and there is a lot of humor along the way. Realistic in some ways, bizarre in others, and a fun read.

I loved the concept of this book. At some points just wanted the main character to stop dating and just stay with the girl he felt he loved. The problem was you knew he was to good of a guy to just stop with the dating process. The only problem with this book was at time you felt you were going on these dates and being drug along for the ride because it became that slow.

What an interesting concept this story line presented with the month long dates. The happenings with Miss December was quite surprising.

As with Chautona's others books it is refreshing to read or love and happily ever after without all of the explicit sex. This is another one that would be great for any ages from preteen to adult.

I find it hard to believe that a man who is against holding hands on a date at age 36 would consent to having women come and live with him and play house for a month, even with a chaperone. This is a good story though, and well written. I haven't been able to put it down.

Intriguing and surprising. I didn't expect the turn toward the end. Leave it to Author Chautona Havig to have you guessing all the way through.

Some hilarious characters and good dialogue...but the premise of the book is a little nutty to me. How Not To Do Relationships...or something like that?

I really enjoyed this book, it was a lot of fun! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because he didn't pick who I wanted him to in the end, lol.

I am fortunate enough to live in the great state of California (in the Mojave Desert) with my husband Kevin and five of my nine children. My eldest is married with five children, so I have the fun of a son-in-law and grandbabies to enjoy. I’ve graduated six out of my nine children from our home school, and they’re all doing quite well in their lives. My younger children keep me from getting too ...more
