The second book, Rebirth of the Seer, far outdid Eyes.

The character development absolutely explodes into a fireworks display of nuance as Flynn begins to realize his calling and as a result is thrown headlong into conflict with vampires, other seers, sorcerers, and himself. Yes, himself. He’s schizo, remember? He’s getting better, but he’s still still got little shards of his own personality floating in the wreckage of self that his vampire maker left behind.

And his struggle is intensely real.

I have been eagerly anticipating this book for months and it was everything I wanted and then some! It is the second in the series, and although I loved book one, I very much enjoyed the somewhat lighter tone of the second book. Don't get me wrong, it by no means strayed from the brilliant vernacular, or lusty Vampire Flynn. It did however delve deeper into other characters emotions and actions. Mr. Dawes has done it again.

The continuation of Eyes of the Seer was well worth the wait. The last book delved deep into the mind of a sociopathic killer, and we watched his struggle and rise from his murdering ways. This book is more story focused. We still get to see Peter's struggle but we also got to see more of the antagonists, from narrow minded sorcerers to bloodthirsty vampires.

This story explores other characters as well. You learn more about Monica here (Love Monica!) and meet a few

I was asked by the author to give an honest review of this book in exchange for a free copy. Somehow, that part got messed up and I, being impatient, just bought the copy instead of trying to figure out why it wasn't a freebie. No matter, the review will be the same.

I gave the story 3 stars which means I liked the story. I didn't love it. I did enjoy this book more than the first book in the series, perhaps because I have become more accustomed to the author's writing style. It's a good story. I
