Guilt is a heavy burden for the one carrying it.

Jem Stonehouse is no exception to this rule.

What if she’d acted sooner? What if she’d fully recognised the threat? What if she hadn’t allowed the male pack members to head into the witches’ ambush?

For one, youngest pack member Josh Larsen wouldn’t be trapped in the sleep of the dead.

Now, Jem is convinced it’s her job to bring...more

I got a copy for review in exchange for an honest review.

This is a short story, but it doens't feel like one. It continues right after were Blue Moon ended. The story continues and I read it in one sitting, because I had to know what happened. Eevery book in this series is even better than the last one and I can't wait to read what this author writes next!

Normally I don't like short stories, because they have that distinctive short story feel, there just isn't enough story and it feels rushed. R...more

I read Blue Moon (Holloway Pack#2) last year and really liked it. So as soon as Resonance was in my inbox, I started and finished it within the same day. Yeah, right, I know. I am kind of impatient when it comes to series I love. Even though I hadn't read either ofInstinct (Holloway Pack, #0),Eternal (Holloway Pack, #0.5),Darkness & Light (Holloway Pack, #1),Into The Unknown (Holloway Pack #1.5), Blue Moonworked great as standalone. However, do not mistake that for Resonance. It is not meant...more

    MY REVIEW
I received an E-Arc from J Taylor Publishing in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I have already done comments on the cover when I was part of the Cover Reveal but will do a little re-cap and see if my opinion has changed any since reading the book.
This is a series of books I read and love. So the byline says "Guilt is a heavy burden" it certainly is, and the phrase instantly attracts you to the book and makes you want to know more. Like who is guilty? Why are they guilty? Shou...more

Seeing as how I just devoured Blue Moon (see my 5 star review HERE), I was THRILLED when J. Taylor Publishing sent me an ARC of the next installment in the Holloway Pack Series.

I knew going in that it was a novella and that it would doubtless be over all too soon, but it was over TOO soon. Not in a bad way – I just wanted more. Can’t get enough of these characters!

Yummies: As with all the Holloway Pack characters, this book is no different. I *heart* them. Especially Ethan, whose own story relea...more

If you haven't started this series yet, seriously try and avoid reading that description! And don't start the series with Resonance. You will definitely be spoiled if you read this one first. :P

That being said, Resonance was a fantastic novella! There was a great plot that was tied together nicely, but also left me seriously anxious for more. The things that Jem experienced in this one were really different from what she's faced in the other books, and I'm interested to see how these new develop...more

First off, I have to make a confession: I was so intrigued by the cover for Resonance I didn't realize this was a series. Yes, I know, silly mistake, but the great thing is after reading Resonance, I didn't make a mistake. I found a new author I really liked and a fantastical world I need to know about.

The Holloway Pack series consists of the full-length novels (in order): Darkness & Light, Blue Moon and Caged and the novellas Instinct, Eternal and Resonance. J.A. Belfield gives just the ri...more

This novella is a follow up to what occurred in Blue Moon. Josh was left in a state of suspended animation or "death sleep" following the pack's interaction with the evil witches. This novella spends its time with fixing Josh.

This series has lacked a set of outside characters. Blue Moon did a good job bringing in the Holloway mom, and Jess's sister. The sister has a bigger role in this book which is nice. There needs to be more contrast with the pack members and non-members. I also really liked...more

Resonance (Holloway Pack #2.5) by J.A. Belfield

Resonance is short story around the Holloway Pack series. J.A. Belfield writing is good, the story and the characters flow well, easy to read and it was a well written short story. To me it was a bonus before book 3 is released.

Resonance continues right where Blue Moon ended, it is short so it doesn’t take much time to read and worth grabbing a copy.

There is some new information in this story and of course we get to read about Jam and Sean. The sc...more

After finishing Blue Moon I was desperate to read Resonance, so imagine my elation when an E-Arc arrived in my inbox! I promptly devoured this delectable little novella. The story continues on where Blue Moon left off, with, Josh trapped in the sleep of the dead despite the best efforts of Jess and the pack. Revelations abound despite the books diminutive status, family history is clarified, a whole new plane of existence is introduced and a sneak peek of what’s to come is scattered throughout....more

    ARC Review--

Ah I just love the Holloway pack!! I honestly can’t get enough of their wonderful dynamic. Seriously every single character I just love, though I do have my favorites. Resonance starts where Blue Moon left off, so be sure to read this series in order or you won’t know what is going on. This novella is action and emotionally packed from beginning to end, it was impossible to put down until after I devoured the entire boo...more

4-5 stars. I was lucky to win an ARC of this novella by J.A. Belfield - and I am so happy I got to read it so soon after finishing Blue Moon (Holloway Pack, #2), as we were left hanging...

Resonance picks up right where Blue Moon ended and without giving anything away, Josh is in a very precarious position, which Jem feels guilt and sadness over.

I really loved this novella. One wonderful thing about this author is that even her novellas are complete. They do not feel rushed or incomplete. There is a distinct story line that...more

Lets talk about a short story being that awesome! After all the hell they went through in Blue Moon, Jem finds herself stuck- because she could lose herself if she does this, or she could lose a member of her pack if she doesn’t. I am very much starting to love Jem’s sister Jess. She’s become a majorly favorite character. Jem is still top notch to me, as she really is a wonderful character. I feel very sorry for Sean. I think he’s still trying to recover, and he’s got a lot he thinks is his faul...more

    J. A. Belfield's Resonance was great. This must be a follow up of another story because I feel like I am reading the second book and wondering what had happened in the first. I couldn't put it down and then when it was finished I was left wanting more... I need to know more about the characters! I will definitely be following this author! 4/5 stars

I'm a huge, like crazy-fan-girl-huge, fan of J. A. Belfield and her Holloway Pack and Resonance doesn't disappoint!!! Blue Moon leaves us with grave concerns for Josh. He hasn't woken from the magical sleep the oh-you-just-so-hate-them evil witches and Jem is buried with guilt. I love Jem. She is just so real; she makes stupid mistakes, reacts terribly and loves big ... just like most of us.

In Resonance we get to see the crazy creative side of J. A. Belfield. I loved the in-between world!!! It...more

Resonance continues where Blue Moon ended and J.A. Belfield show’s us once again that she has the skills to write a short story that doesn't feel like one. It captures you from the start and within a few lines you’re hooked.

There’s never a dull moment and there are snippets of what’s to come throughout. As always you’ll find the playful and loving relationship dynamics that keep us wanting more. All in all, this will leave you wanting Caged even more than before

I knew It, I knew It, I knew It, I knew It!

Resonance is the WAY TO SHORT, heart breaking, hungering, pulse fastening, amazing, loving, tear jerking (which is a real achievement for a novella of only 80 pages), fairytale ending, plot twisting, novella to keeps us (Holloway pack lovers) satisfied until Caged gets published.
The only thing wrong with this is, it only leaves me wanting Caged even more! (if this is even possible)

This short novella is about bringing Josh back from the death sleep the witches placed him into and gives a brief foreshadowing to Ethan's story and a major turning point in Jem's life. This book needs to be read following Blue Moon as it is not a stand alone, but more an epilogue.

As usual it is a delightful book, J.A. Belfield continues to be a favorite. Loved the cover!

    Welcome back Josh.
Finally the happy ending I was waiting for. And with great news to leave you expecting Caged even more.

This was such a great story!! Did not feel like a short story at all! I can't wait to see where the series goes in the future!!! I highly recommend everyone pick up this series!

One day, a character and scene popped into J. A. Belfield’s head, and she started controlling the little people inside her imagination, as though she were the puppet master and they her toys. Questions arose: What would happen if …? How would they react if …? Who would they meet if …? Before she knew it, a singular scene had become an entire movie. The characters she controlled began to hold conve...more
