By the time I started the second installment, I felt a total disconnect from the story. I had to take the time to re-load part 1 on my reader and read the last few pages to remind myself where the story left off. That is a BIG problem and inconvenience.
I can't stress enough that many readers find this serialization trend extremely off-putting.
The story may have merit, but this method of publishing completely destroys book.

GREAT STORY HORRIBLE PUBLISHING PROCESS
Okay Beth Kery, I think the story is good, the characters are decent and the steamy 'attempted' sex scenes could hit the right spot.
What dampens my mood about this series is how the author decided to publish it. I can barely connect with the characters or the scenes because just when something important happens Kery ends the book. I would love to say great things about how I'm addicted to the story and wanna pass it along but I can't seem to get past this....more

I feel like I'm backpedaling here to a point....with the first installment of this series I really felt like this book had a lot of promise, possibly four-five star potential in the end.
Now, after reading the second part, I'm kind of blase´ about the whole thing. I suppose, part of my problem is the fact that, this book is in parts. I'm definitely not a fan of reading a book in parts. I like the story but feel like with having to wait between each part I can't connect with the characters completely and forget what happened in the previous book. I really wish she'd reconsider releasing it in part because I don't think I'm the only person not enjoying the 2 chapters per part.

It's a shame the way that they are releasing this story. It is senseless price gouging! So far I like the story but 2 chapters at a time is just silly and EXPENSIVE!! I will finish the series but never buy a book being released this way again.

Aaaaaaand the story picks up where it left off on the previous book, right on that #$%&$%& cliffhanger... only to have the first explosion of Ian and Francesca's chemistry interrupted. Can't say I'm surprised.
But don't be alarmed, fellow readers, it's still there -- that chemistry is there, and one certain smexy specimen of a man is going insane with it *sniggers*

Seriously, I think Beth Kery has a contract out to kill me! She ends the story at the best parts!!! My only blessing was this week after finishing part two, I had part three to read. After I finished part three, I was lost. I had no part four.

I'm not sure why authors and publishers are moving toward the serialization trend. As a consumer this trend seems to be a means to increase sales and get as much out of a publication as possible. Even the best written story is gong to suffer from this treatment. If I invest in all 8 installments I'll be 16 bucks in the hole for a story that was doled out 2 chapters at a time.
I think if this had been published as a full length novel the sales and reviews would be better.

I was extremely hesitant to pick up this series by Beth Kery because I wasn't a big fan at all of her previous book I read, Wicked Burn.

So I think this series reading technique is not for me. I just feel like I cant connect with the characters. Right as I am starting to feel some connection/emotion, the part I'm reading ends & it takes another whole week before I can start all over. This might work if it was a second or third book in a series, where I already know the characters & have developed a connection with them & their story. I don't know if I'm going to continue. I have a serious disconnect with the characters. Is it because it's a full-length novel that's broken into pieces and each new piece is available on a weekly basis? That could be part of it. And I still don't buy into Ian and Francesca's "relationship". For a innocent woman, she jumps into a D/s relationship with Ian with both feet in. And yet she's scared to get a tattoo. For me, it makes no sense. She doesn't know this man. And so far, they haven't had an...more

The story of Ian an Francesca is a very good. The authors ability to weave the story flawless. I was impressed with the descriptive words an found myself (I could figure out their meaning) curiosity got me though an looked them up on my iPad. Very impressive

This books is made up of short chapters; 2 chapters to be exact and kind of pricey for 2 chapters. The story is intriguing enough but I found the characters 2 dimensional and the story trite. After a while, I got bored.
I read book 1-8 in one sitting and well it is an ok story. Don't expect much of a plot or intrigue with this book. After a while I just wanted the books to end..

I liked this story but I will say the same thing for them all. They are only 2 chapters and are costing $2.00 a piece and that is silly that all 8 parts if $16.00. I like them but am not sure if I need to know what happens next with how much this is going to cost me. I have read the first 3 but think that I will wait to see if they put them all together into 1 book.
From what I can tell, this is just a novel broken up into 2 chapter segments. Honestly, I would have preferred to just read the whole novel instead of having it broken up. The next two chapters continue on in the intensity and the relationship sparks and moves forward. Ian shows what a controlling person he is and Francesca shows that she wants him anyway.
It's a good thing I have all of these already otherwise I'd be really annoyed! Just as you start to get into the story...it finishes! Grrrr! I'm pretty much hooked now so I'll probably get threw them quick! I'm liking both characters. No one is annoying me yet so that's a good sign but there is still plenty of time left ;)
OMG...this book was hot..just annoyed too short..will definitely read next left me so wanting more..the story is hotting up..Ian is such a dark character dark and very controlling.Francesca is all too new to this and he is playing on her vulnerability..what drives him to this who know..Need to Read...lol
Having to wait for the next installment, I don't have any emotional attachment with the story. It doesn't have the same impact when you continue the following week. The story is only 73% of the "book/installment". So far there is a strong resemblance to FSOG and Bared to You.
