I would like to say that I can be calm and rational about The Wild Ones. But I know better. You know better. That's just not going to happen with this review. Because...

I FREAKING LOVED THE WILD ONES SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T EVEN STAND IT!!!

Seems like I'm being a bit dramatical, yeah? I know, I know. But I'm not. That cap-smashed-filled, exclamation-riddled sentence is the honest truth. When I sat down to read The Wild Ones, I had reasonably high expectations. I had been reading the teasers, and yes More...

I honestly don’t know where to start with this book. I’ve always been a fan of stories that portray a boy from the wrong side of the tracks who falls in love with the rich girl but this one just felt a little too…cheesy. More often, Cami (gah, that name!) sounds like an incredibly sexed-up teenager and Trick (again, that name!) about the same. Just how old are these people, anyway? The only time I saw a semblance of maturity between these two characters was when they are not together. And even t More...

I was a little up, down, and all over the place with this one! When Trick was "up", I was most definitely up too! I was totally vibing the modern day Romeo & Juliet feel it had. GIVE ME MY SIN AGAIN! ;-)

It had some definite four and five-star moments, but it didn't keep me at that level the whole time. But before I go on, I need to jump up on my soap-box and say that three-stars still means it's a good book. I hate how readers are so quick to th More...

OMG!!! This book by Michelle Leighton is definitely my new favorite book this year! Seriously hands down, Michelle was able to wow me more than her previous works of art. Trust me when I say I love Bo and Jackson, they occupy part of my heart, but damn it if Trick isn’t close to taking it all over! I and some of the other lovely ladies on Twitter, along with Michelle, developed TRICKisms , that’s right , we are completely and utterly smitten with Trick and the book is nothing more if not TRICKt More...

I’m so perplexed about this book. I just loved the premise of it - a Romeo and Juliet type of romance with cowboy boots and horses - but it left me so unfulfilled and a little bit annoyed.

As fun as the story appeared to be, it was predictable from the very beginning. Girl from a wealthy family - daddy’s little girl - with matching boyfriend and bright future ahead. Boy from poor family forced to put his future on hold to support mother and sister. Girl meets boy, sparks fly and it doesn’t take m More...

4 STARS out of 5
Genre: Contemporary YA Romance

'Walking to the front of the stage, Trick strums the notes effortlessly. When his solo riff is over the rest of the band chimes in, begining with the heavy beat of the drum. Girls start screaming, guys start hollering and I can't help but smile. I'm really begining to enjoy myself when, all they way across the throng of partiers,Trick looks up and his eyes meet mine. I am a deer caught in the headlights. I am a girl charmed by the More...

Overall, I liked this book - good story, likable characters, sexy male lead ;) It was fun and an easy read. It did end rather abruptly, though, and I felt like I just wanted a little more from the end. It also ended at the 90% point on my Kindle. Maybe that's partly why the end felt rushed, but the book also skips forward three months, and then hear about what happened in those three months with Trick and his business. I feel like it would have been good to read about that in real time. So much More...

4.5 stars!!

Let me start by saying I LOVED THIS BOOK! Okay, I'm not saying it, I'm shouting it. This book was so darn good and I have only one complaint. It wasn't long enough!! I could have kept reading about Trick and Cami for a long time.

Trick: Okay, he's got it. If it's not enough that he's a cowboy and a horse whispererer, he also sings and plays guitar! Perfect guy alert!

Cami: Not in the least bit annoying. Truly a plus based on what I've been reading lately. I did get a little bit mad at h More...

I was a fan of Leighton's Blood Like Poison series, and I was left salivating after some of the scenes she wrote in To Kill an Angel. When I found out she had written a romance novel, I was so excited to see what she could do when she wasn't so restricted by the invisible boundaries that often come with a YA fantasy series. She definitely did NOT disappoint with The Wild Ones!! I give this one 4.5 stars and a definite recommend!!

This is the story of the sweet southern belle who is swept away by More...

Wow, was this one smokin' hot book! The mature warning label was no joke. From the beginning, Cami and Trick see sex in each other, to the point where it does seem overdone. Every time that the two lay eyes on each other, their minds go to the gutter. It's pretty hot, but it does seem as though the entire story revolves around their sexual attraction to each other when there is so much more than that, like their shared love of horses. Other bases for their attraction could have been developed mo More...

Speechless. This book blew me away. I'm not really one for "horses", "cowboys", "horse racing" types of books, but I'll read anything ms. Leighton writes. This book was incredible. I'm stunned. I can't even describe how I feel right now. GO READ IT!!!!

my link text Don't judge. The book reminded me the video clip.Maybe it's the horses.Maybe it's the rich girl who leaves the rich boyfriend and goes with the less wealthy and have their HEA.Maybe they aren't related at all.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars.I decided to rated it with 4.I don't have to say much for this book.I liked it but Down to you is better than this one.Towards the end there was too much heartache for Cami and Trick and it was for nothing. More...

So...spoilers...there was stuff I LOVED about this, and stuff I was kinda like...meh about. Let me say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE M. Leighton--the Down to You, Up To Me...some of my favs there! This was different. Honestly, I read about half of it, then put it down for a few weeks, reading other stuff and just finished it today. Again, stuff I loved, but after a while, honestly, Cami was hard to like at times. I'm all for the whole "wrong side of the tracks" kind of romance, but sometimes it's like, "Hel More...

Author M. Leighton comes up as a recommended writer fairly often in the reading circles I frequent. I even reviewed Madly, another title of her's, here on TTP a number of months ago. That title was actually pretty good (if anything it was too short), and even though I've never had the chance to read further in the series it's something I do plan on getting to when I have a slightly shorter stack on the TBR pile.*

That said, The Wild Ones didn't leave me inspired to read any more of this series. Y More...

After reading Ms. Leighton’s Down to You, I was eager to get started on this book. I like her style of writing and enjoy her characters. As much as I liked that Bad Boys book, I like this one even better.

That’s due to the fact this book has a bit more of a story to it. And I like the heroine more than Olivia in DtY. Even though Cami also has a problem going for exactly what she wants, she does decide to give it her all much, much sooner than Olivia ever does. And I love the hero, Trick. They lit More...

Cami might have money and the "perfect" boyfriend but she's not a happy camper. She's not quite sure what to do about it, since Daddy is the controlling force in her life and, up until now, she's only done what's expected of her. But there's that niggling in the back of her mind that turns into a full-blown epiphany when she meets Trick.

Trick is a really good guy -- he's put his dreams on hold to take care of his mom and sister and winds up working in the stables. Stables owned by Cami's dad. C More...

This was a cute story about love and how your family can screw it up. Trick and Cami were both so cute, I found myself rooting for them right from the start. I wanted them to be together and find their dreams. I was so happy when it looked like it was all going to happen, but knew there had to be some obstacle, because really the HEA couldn’t happen that fast. I was sort of surprised by just what the obstacle was, although there were hints all along. I was shocked by the harsh response of Trick More...

It's not often that Indie Author is on the New York Times Best Seller's list; but that was a feat that Michelle Leighton conquered. I would like to start off my review with a note from the author's short bio:

"A note from Michelle: I love coffee and chocolate, even more so when they are combined. I'm convinced that one day they could be the basis for world peace. I also love the color red and am seriously considering dying my hair." Not only is she an amazing author, she knows how to make you lau More...

First of all, I liked it. I didn't love it but I liked it, enough to read it again, eventually. Second of all, one of the main reasons i liked it was because I am a lover of strange and unusual names, why, because i find names like David and Sarah kinda boring. No offense to anyone who may have either of those names. They're just too common for my tastes, I hear them way too often. Now don't get me wrong they're nice names but like i said too common. The name Patrick is another common name but I More...

You know you have a “good read” when fans start making up their very own oh-so- yummy names and phrases of the lead male character. “Trickalicious,” “He’s my treat,” and the ever popular “Pick Treat Pick Treat” abounds on the pages of Twitter. Gobs and gobs of five-star ratings reside on Amazon, and Miss Leighton, the author, has countless fans thanking her for such an intensely passionate book.

This type of story is as old as Shakespeare himself, and who doesn’t love ‘ole Shakespeare, right?

For no particular reason, I never use passages/lines from the books I read in my reviews. Today, I am going to throw caution to the wind and lead with a super-awesome excerpt. Hold on boys and girls, this one is kind of hot.

“Another of whatever Cami is having.” He turns back to me, a wicked gleam in his smoky eyes. “Sorry about your drink. Not so much about your shirt, though,” he admits candidly.

OMG, haha, yes, I read this book. Here are my excuses: I have a quota to read two romance books a year, and my first one was Fifty Shades of Gray. (This is a completely made-up quota that I decided on last year when I read that sad cowboy romance book--no sex, just beautiful kissing--and that weird Viking/Navy Seal book. Reading this made me relive the viking/Navy Seal book...why do we never understand that whole time travel thing? And why specifically are Vikings traveling through time to all b More...

OK. ummmmmmmmmm where DO I start?'

I recently read 'Down To You' by the same author and to say I loved it would be an understatement. So I decided to check out her other work this is what I stumbled across.

Now after one look at that cover I was like 'oh daymn, I'm reading this,'

I wish I could say I loved it, that you get exactly what you think when you take one look at that guys hot body and that it's got one wild story hidden in those pages.

But I can't. Normally I would have loved this ty More...

The Wild Ones
Don’t let the title fool you. I thought I was about to read a passion, lust filled descriptive story of sex, sex, sex.
What I did read was a romantic story about two young people from
opposite sides of the tracks.
Cami Hines lives on her father’s ranch. He breeds and races thoroughbred horses.
Her family has money.
Out at a local watering hole (Lucky’s Bar) Cami meets Trick (Patrick Henley) and he has amazing greenish-gray eyes that takes her breath away.
There is an attraction between More...

Patrick's (aka "Trick") family needs him and he's willing to put his future on hold to help pull them through a financially difficult time in their lives. Camille (aka "Cami") is the daughter of a wealthy thoroughbred breeder trying to learn the ropes of her family's business... Fate intervenes, paths cross and sizzling chemistry explodes between these two very relateable characters...

♥ What I Loved: The believability of the storyline was one of the main reasons I was hooked on this book. Also, More...

Initially reviewed at Better Read Than Dead

Ahhhh...so, I just want to say that on Halloween this year, I'll be hoping for a "Treat" from "Trick." He sizzles like bacon, and nothing is better than bacon.

I've had several friends recommend M. Leighton to me and I held out, but I should know when Angela over at Reading Angel recommends something, it's a must. She's yet to steer me wrong... So, somewhere down the line I won The Wild Ones from someone, and I do apologize because I have looked and I c More...

This was a completely different writing style for M.Leighton and wow...I think she has found her niche. She should definitely explore the New Adult Genre more.

Trick was just enough of bad boy to be oh so good and he won my heart over before he won Cami's. He had me at "Scuse me." (I love me some good 'ole country boy.) Without doubt, he was one of the hottest lead characters I've read about in a while, but Grace and his mom were the perfect touch for making Trick a more lovable and believable ch More...

I can't even finish this book, I'm so bored. I can't get past the names of the main characters..... I can't take Trick as a name seriously. The name Cami also just irks me.
At least I can somewhat connect with Trick, I feel like his personality has a lot of depth and I do enjoy his humor. I just can't handle how many times we have to read about Trick's erection every time Cami blushes. Overkill on the hard-on's.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. M. Leighton is a great storyteller and her characters are often surprising and have a great depth to them. She also writes fantastic chemistry, and it was practically leaping off the page between Cami and Trick. I loved watching their relationship develop. I love that Cami wasn’t your typical rich girl – despite her family expectations, and that Trick had a great sense of responsibility to care for his Mom and Sister. I love that Trick threw off Cami’s plan fo More...
