I started out truly enjoying this book. The basis of a young inexperienced girl being "trained" by someone so worldly, rich and sexy was tantalizing, and the sexual situations were sexy until..... Until they weren't.

I am not that familiar with the BDSM theme but in the few I have read I haven't encountered a book yet where the line of consent became so scarily grey. There were multiple forced sexual situations that went beyond taming and straight into abuse/ rape. The first few nights were inten

Hey dickweed! You already did!

This book just wasn't for me, I struggled to finish it. But I'm one of those people who has to try and make it to the very end. I was hating Leah, yet feeling sorry for her at the same time. I found it difficult to buy into the fact that being a 24 year old virgin, she would be that accepting of the situations to which she was exposed. (I admit to screaming the safe word for her a couple times.) I can unders

Wow! I think this is the 1st or 2nd time I've given a book only 1 star. This book just wasn't for me, I struggled to finish it. But I'm one of those people who has to try and make it to the very end. I was hating Leah, yet feeling sorry for her at the same time. I found it difficult to buy into the fact that being a 24 year old virgin, she would be that accepting of the situation to which she was exposed. This book invoked strong reactions in me.If you are eagerly wanting to read the book be warned, this review contains spoilers. I felt like I just wasted 4 hours of my life on this book. Never have I ever been so appalled by any book. The only reason why I did not stop reading was because, I have this OCD thing where I can't put down a book without finishing it and that's also a reason why I'm writing a review of this at 2 in the morning.

The heroine Leah is probably one of the most spineless hero
I hate to be this negative about a book; however, this book was really, truly terrible. I hated from the start and really had to force myself to read just on the off chance that it got better. It didn't! There was absolute no character development, no story or plot development, and no reason to like or express an interest in any of the characters. It has been a long time since I have read something this distasteful. And to think that there is supposed to be more to the series, frankly, makes me ...more
I wanted to like this book, but found myself rolling my eyes at the overly detailed descriptions in many parts. I don't really care to read a characters detailed processes down to the the brushing of their teeth.

By the end of the story, I was ready to chuck my reader at the wall. Overall a disappointment.
Well this book ROCKED my little world! I will start with what I loved, that was it was dark, very dark but you could see the light under the door peeking in like bright sunshine. I loved that the main characters Leah and her best friend Janie were normal college grads who did not need a shrink or medication. Also the male leads Rhett (what a friggin name huh?) and his best friend and partner in his law firm, David, also totally normal guys.

The story starts with Janie and Leah graduating. Once th
I was really turned on by the premise of this book. I love the theme of strong alpha sexually experienced male taking a young ingenue under his wing to teach her about true pleasure. The first half of the book, that dealt with Leah learning of the lifestyle, meeting with Rhett and the first couple of days, were great. Very hot scenes that make you squirm to read them. It definitely took the idea of Fifty Shades to a whole new (way more intense) level. But, then about halfway through, the feel of ...more
Honestly, I wasn't sure at first that I was even going to take a stab at reviewing 10 NIGHTS. I mean, BDSM erotica just isn't my genre -- and I truly have NOTHING that I can use as a basis of comparison. Like, I'm not even kidding when I say that I usually skip over even the tamest sex scenes in novels -- they just really don't interest me or hold my attention in the least.

So, why, you may ask, did I even take on the feat of reading 10 NIGHTS?

Well, I've been curious for a while as to whether or

I wanted to like this book, I truly did, however it was choppy and the ending was extremely abrupt. I know that this is fiction, I appreciate that but the ending was as unrealistic as unicorns and trolls. A woman that has just been "play raped" and is in a catatonic state runs back into the arms of the man and agrees to marry him without huge discussion on what occurred? Let's be real that if someone actually did that it would mean they had HUGE mental health/self-esteem issues that would need t ...more

Leah is a recent graduate who has no interest in losing her virginity. She has no respect for men because of how her father treated her mom. Her best friend is Janie, who lives life for both of them. Leah's greatest worry is finding a job until Janie takes her to an after-grad party that changes everything.

This is the night for Janie to share her only secret with Leah. She has a boyfriend and is into the BDSM lifestyle. Leah is shocked and overwhelmed at what she is seeing in the dungeon. Even

I enjoyed this reading. However, I have several issues with this book:
The first is it being filled to the gills with cliches. We all like romance and sometimes even the tacky descriptions of emotions and body parts, but come on.
Second would be the damn safe word. A safe word is supposed to be used during scene play if the submissive is not willing to take it further and willing it to stop. It should be used as a threat. Safe wording that results in cutting off a relationship makes absofuckinglut
The concept behind Michelle Hughes reason for writing this book was good. What kind of sexual fantasies do women have? What do they want in the bedroom? Would this be a good idea to write a book about these fantasies. Yep I think it would if only she had stuck with the theme of pleasure.

Like her I researched the Internet and came up with the following sexual fantasies that woman have:

Sex with a stranger
Forced fantasies
Private dancer

This book wasn't very good. The writing is kind of boring and monotonous, to be honest. Leah and Janie are annoying and Rhett is a disrespectful asshole. And that's pretty much the whole book since it's only 10 days.

I was dissapointed when I finished the book.In the beginning I was like descriptiondescription
but when the end came
disapointment was what I felt.

They started it so well and then they fucked up it. I was expecting ten hot nights that never came. I wanted the good BDSM stuff that must have gotten lost somewhere because Rhett is supposed to be one experienced dom,the dom where others with less experience turned when they were seeking advice and someone who trained many subs. Also, if not all than the majority of the sex
In lieu of disclosure, Michelle is my daughter but that isn't stopping me from giving my opinion about 10 Nights. I received the book as a birthday present and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Not that I didn't know my daughter could write, but because it was so full of sensuality and the emotions were dripping off it in droves.

Any fans of the Fifty Shades series will love this book, be warned though, it is quite darker than the afore mentioned books.

On the eve of their graduation Janie makes the decision to introduce her best friend Leah to the "lifestyle" she has led in secret for these past 2 years. Thrown head first into the BDSM world Leah, quite literally, falls into the arms of the tall/dark/handsome Dom, Rhett. Smitten by her innocence, Rhett makes Leah an offer; 10 Nights. You know when I first started reading this I was thinking 'okay, lets do this, lets get this party started' We have Leah who at 24 is a virgin, no big deal. Her dad was a lousy jerk who left her mom so she doesn't really care for relationships. She meets Rhett, a Dom who wants to train her.

Then as the story moves on, I'm finding I just wa
I hate to say this, but I have to agree with some of the reviewers for this book, "10 Nights" just wasn't fantastic.

It was Ok, but just not worthy of the time that I have available to read (outside of work and school).

The main female character, in my opinion, was stupid, and the DOM should have been slapped and made to submit. Overall, personally I didn't like the premise nor the flow of the book.

Although I gave up and didn't finish it, I thought that it was halfway decent...

Let me start by saying this is one of my first elaborate reviews on Goodreads, so bear with me. But after reading this book, I just had to get some things out.

Wow. I have read quite a few BDSM books now, and although I'm certainly not an expert, I would call myself more well-mannered than Rhett. The book started out fine, with a rich hero, a shy cute 24yr old virgin and an interesting proposal. However, as an experienced dom training a virgin to become a submissive, Rhett just sucks. I didn't want to do a review for a book this bad in a long time. Just so I can warn people ahead of time not to read this book. There are so many things wrong with this book that I think if I make a list, it would go on foreverrr. I am just going to go ahead and talk about all the things that bothered me, about 10 Nights. Here we go!!!

Just a warning, there are going to be spoilers!

I'm not sure why this book is getting so many comments about being similar to Fifty Shades, unless its simply because of the BDSM elements. I really had a hard time getting into this book because I really didn't like the leading man-Rhett. I love my books with the "smut" factor which this one definitely has, but its got to have the "romance" factor for me to love it and this one just didn't have it for me. Rhett came off as self centered and selfish to me. Leah was young and inexperienced and sh ...more
This book had me from the jump start. It took me on one hell of a ride!! I didn't know what to expect and I don't think I can keep count of how many "wtf's" and jaw droppings this book had me do. One minute I'm like "woah" and the next minute I'm like "wtf?! Oh hell no". I wouldnt have been able to do the 10 nights lol some of the scenes were just "uh-uh" for me and I was getting mad at both Leah and Rhett... like "wtf! really?!" ahahahahaha... This book had me saying, "omg!", "wtf!," "what is he thinking?", what an asshole", "ohh hell no i wouldn't do that!" and more. I don't know if I can ever do those 10 nights because it was so intense and disgusting. I would have probably shouted RED on the first night. Lol! The characters were totally pissing me off the whole time I was reading because of the lack of control and stubbornness!!! uhhhhhhh! but overall, this book was a great read.

This makes Fifty Shades read like a Disney story!
I felt shocked, sad, happy, confused, humiliated.....the list goes on.
The editing on it was not very good though, often making it confusing to read, so that why I only gave it 4 stars.
I would love to find out of he changed, how Janie reacted to the news and generally how life took off from Night 10. I hope there will be a second book!

Immediate thoughts.......the first 50% reeked of Fifty Shades. The next 25% was so fucked up she left him. The last 25% unplausible. She agrees to go back and see him AND of course being the 10th move, agrees to marry him, wtf!

Done, phew :)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I have rated it three stars because I had a few too many problems with it to rate it any higher.
