I wanted to like this book, but found myself rolling my eyes at the overly detailed descriptions in many parts. I don't really care to read a characters detailed processes down to the the brushing of their teeth.
By the end of the story, I was ready to chuck my reader at the wall. Overall a disappointment.

I started out truly enjoying this book. The basis of a young inexperienced girl being "trained" by someone so worldly, rich and sexy was tantalizing, and the sexual situations were sexy until..... Until they weren't.

I mean, BDSM erotica just isn't my genre -- and I truly have NOTHING that I can use as a basis of comparison. This book wasn't very good. The writing is kind of boring and monotonous, to be honest. Leah and Janie are annoying and Rhett is a disrespectful asshole. And that's pretty much the whole book since it's only 10 days.
I was Meh about this book. I felt it did nothing for me. In my opinion this is not a romance. It has no resemblance to 50 Shades as some people may lead one to believe.
The characters were well developed but unrealistic in their behavior. I was appalled at the way it was written. The plot is typical-a love story between a messed-up guy who's into BDSM and a girl who has never been in love or in lust and it ends in a commitment. But there are so many details that I'd rather have omitted in the book since these details gave a lot of readers the wrong impression especially when it comes to treating women. In lieu of disclosure, Michelle is my daughter but that isn't stopping me from giving my opinion about 10 Nights. I received the book as a birthday present and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Not that I didn't know my daughter could write, but because it was so full of sensuality and the emotions were dripping off it in droves.

I enjoyed this reading. However, I have several issues with this book:
The first is it being filled to the gills with cliches. We all like romance and sometimes even the tacky descriptions of emotions and body parts, but come on.
Second would be the damn safe word. A safe word is supposed to be used during scene play if the submissive is not willing to take it further and willing it to stop. It should be used as a threat. Safe wording that results in cutting off a relationship makes absofuckinglut...more

So here's the deal. I really liked it. I've read a few BDSM books (like 4, maybe 5 so I'm not a pro at this) and in each book I will admit there's always a scene that completely pisses me off and I want to grab the submissive and slap some sense into them and then I want to shove the Dominant onto the floor after slapping them too. Well this book ROCKED my little world! I will start with what I loved, that was it was dark, very dark but you could see the light under the door peeking in like bright sunshine. I loved that the main characters Leah and her best friend Janie were normal college grads who did not need a shrink or medication. I was really turned on by the premise of this book. I love the theme of strong alpha sexually experienced male taking a young ingenue under his wing to teach her about true pleasure. This was quite the read, I want to say that overall I enjoyed the book, it was fast, it was furious, and intriguing at the same time. Now I think that over the past few months my library of erotica and BDSM stories have grown, and its easy for all the stories to get jumbled up together, but 10 nights will stand out in my mind. This is a tough one. I don't even know where to begin. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so emotionally drained by the end of reading this that I needed to write it down. 10 Nights is definitely on the darker side and not for everyone. This book invoked strong reactions in me.If you are eagerly wanting to read the book be warned, this review contains spoilers. I felt like I just wasted 4 hours of my life on this book. Never have I ever been so appalled by any book. The only reason why I did not stop reading was because, I have this OCD thing where I can't put down a book without finishing it and that's also a reason why I'm writing a review of this at 2 in the morning.
