Calling the Shots is the fourth and final book in the Long Shots series which has centred on a BDSM club, Mavericks, and the coffee-shop over the road, Pulled Long. All the siblings that own the coffee shop have found their Kinkily Ever After and now it is the turn of club owner, Josh to find his lifetime ménage-a-trois.

Josh has been running the club with the help of his assistant Beth who we met back in book 2 when she was fired for being caught having sex on the table in the coffee shop with h

Josh has always known that he is a bisexual man and, because he was discriminated and degraded for his sexual preferences when he was younger, he decides to open a club, a safe haven, where people are able to explore their sexual fantasies in private. He has formed a crush on his assistant manager, Beth, and bartender, Oliver. He is the most experienced of the three but because of his insecurities from being mistreated growing up, he is afraid to be in a permanent threesome relationshi

I have been very lucky to get an ARC of this book.

Here are my thoughts....

Josh had the most challenging teenage life. Coming clean to his parents of being bi-sexual after they caught him in the act. His mother was convinced with the idea of sexual intervention, that this will cure his confusion. This had made a huge impact to his life and had developed personal nightmares that was sculpted to his being.

Beth was working at a coffee shop but she got sacked when she was caught by her boss having se

Favorite Line - "Welcome to Mavericks. Live out your wildest fantasies in the place where anything goes."
Favorite Character - Beth

This book was certainly interesting & a wild read too. I have read some menage books before but none as detailed as this one. I don't normally read books that contain male/male sex as i am not into it so this book was quite different for me. This story had BDSM & all-sorts of kinky-fuckery too. There was a tonne of anal play &

I've always enjoyed reading MMF books, not only because they're hot but also because they're almost always full of angst and heartbreak, and who doesn't love an emotional book. This book is no exception.

Through the character's eyes you experience all three sides of a threesome relationship - and that it isn't all hot sweaty sex all the time.

Josh eventhough this is his turf, been there done that, quickly realizes that he's on a totally new playing field bec

There were many things I liked about this book and some things I didn’t. Let’s start with what I loved. I loved the characters. I really like Beth and found it fascinating as she discovered who she was sexually. Oliver was equally intriguing in discovering he was gay for Josh. I loved watching them learn each other and find their way with each other. They were willing to fight to keep each other and when one would push away, the other two would push right back to make them see how

Calling the Shots is the 4th book in part of a series; I have never read the other three and did not have any issues with reading this as a standalone. Also my first read by Christine d'Abo, I liked the book ok.

The story centers around a sex club called Maverick and its sexy brooding owner Josh. This right here was enough to catch my attention. Then let us throw in the fricken hot as hell cover with Josh and his two special friends. Beth, his sexy assistant manager, and Oliver, his hotter than

Review:

"Calling The Shots" by Christine D'Abo is the fourth in the 'Long Shorts' series for this author. This story has lots of twist and turns that kept you reading to see what was coming next in this story. Now, I want you to know that this is a menage relationship, so if this isn't your kind of genre....You know what to do. This was definitely a story of

I thought we were done with this series, all the siblings ended up with their HEA, but when I saw this book I was excited as I like the characters. I was happy that this time Josh had the potential to find his HEA.

I couldn't believe how messed up Josh, Beth, and Oliver are. The funny thing is that each of them has a different issue. In some ways it is funny to see each of them face their issue in a big blow up and needs the others to talk them down. I really liked how before sex was brought into

Finally, Josh's story... I had this book sitting in my TBR pile. I was burnt out of holiday romance and all ( I know bah humbub, but after awhile you must move on) and I wanted to read something more vampier, more erotic. This book was down right sizzling, enough to melt the snow in the North Pole.. yikes, this was exactly what I needed!

In the previous books of the Long Shots series: Double Shot, A Shot in the Dark, and Pulled Long, Josh ha

Thanks to the publisher, Carina Press, and NetGalley for the chance to read this!

This is the fourth installment in Christine d'Abo's Long Shots series. However, this is the first book by this author I've read; so I had no idea what to expect. Before starting this book, I was concerned that I hadn't read the first three books in the series and that jumping in would be confusing. While reading, I discovered none of those concerns were valid. Calling the Shots can definitely be read as a stand-alon

Now this book is exactly what I was hoping for when I first read about Josh in the book Long Shots. I immediately found him intriguing and wanted to know more about him. I liked getting to see him in action in Double Shot and was sad for him in the end. But then I saw Calling the Shots at Netgalley and I got excited. Yay! Josh would finally get is happily ever after. And from the description I knew it was going to be hot.

I wasn’t disappointed in the hotness in this book. Beth

CALLING THE SHOTS is the fourth (and final?) book in the Long Shots series. This book is the first in the series to turn away from the Long siblings and focus on one of their good friends, sex club owner, Josh Scott. While making sure those around him are happy and satisfied, Josh has lost sight of his own happiness and fulfillment. Perhaps his sexy assistant manager and hot new bartender can help Josh refocus!

I was so very excited to see this book being released. I thought the Long Shots series

I love this series, I love the characters, and they make this series what it is. Sure the sex is hot, but without good characters or story, it’s just that hot sex with no substance. I had been waiting for Josh’s story, I liked him in the previous books and wanted him to have a HEA (Happily Ever After). What I didn’t expect to happen was to like the other characters as much if not more than Josh.

I loved how all three interacted with each other, the push pull of attraction between them as well as

Calling the Shots is the fourth entry in Christine d’Abo’s Long Shots, and the first full length novel in the series. I wasn't familiar with the previous three novellas, but had no problem enjoying it as a stand-alone story.

Josh is the classic example of a guy who is there for everyone else but never asks for anything in return. He started the Mavericks sex club in Toronto to provide a

I've had a bit of a crush on Josh ever since he played a starring role in Double Shot so I was incredibly excited when I found out he had his own story and couldn't wait to see him get his own happy ending. Considering I had a feeling he was half in love with Paul and Sadie it didn't come as much of a surprise to find out he was going to end up part of a permanent threesome. Calling the Shots is the longest book in the series and although it didn't quite beat Pulled Long to become my fa

Josh is the owner of Mavericks, a sex club where folks can get their kink on safely. We met him in the three previous Long Shots books and he has ever been a friend to all but you just know there has to be more to him. We first met Josh on Double Shot and discovered a bit more about him during the series while all the other couples visited Mavericks, his club for erotica and BDSM members. I loved him with Sadie and Paul and it was clear that he needed more than just one partner to be happy, but at the same time we can see it’s tormenting him what people could say about this strange arrangement.

So he suffered for awhile and it took a lot of convincing from Beth and Oliver to actually make things happen. I can t

* I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Josh may be comfortable with his sexual preferences, not everyone in his life has shared that sentiment. He has been carrying around the scars of his childhood for years and has always held everyone at an arm’s length. His pride and joy is his club, Mavericks. My Review:
Finally!! We get an HEA for Josh...*happy sigh* Josh has been a regular character throughout this series as the owner for Mavericks...the local kink club. I fell in love with him in book #1 and this book completely clinched it...I love his character! Beth and Oliver both work in the club. Beth is the asst. mgr while Oliver is the head bartender. They both are drawn to Josh...heck this is a menage book...everyone is drawn to everyone else. ;o)

I am reviewing this title for the publisher.

First and foremost, this book has very graphic MMF action. If you aren't okay with that, do NOT read this book.
I did enjoy this book. The beauty of it was in it's simplicity. There is a very direct story to tell here. You've got believable characters that have detail but not too much. The settings are kept pretty much to a few distinct settings so no real need for pages upon pages of details on scenery.

You've got three main characters, each with their

3.75 out of 5. Final book in a 4-book series that features a BDSM club and a specialty coffee shop named Pulled Long. All the books are connected through the characters and now those familiar with the family members who have been featured in the other books have an opportunity to hear Josh's story, the owner/operator of Mavericks, a private BDSM club. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of Calling the Shots.

Calling the Shots is the fourth book in a series that all take place in and around a sex club, Mavericks and a coffee shop, the Pulled Long Cafe. I read the first three of the series and really enjoyed them.

The last book isn't about the Long siblings who run the Pulled Long Cafe, but rather it's about Josh Scott, the owner of Mavericks where much of the previous installments took place.

Josh is bi, and previously was part of a threesome involvi

Thank you NetGalley and Carina Press for the opportunity to read CALLING THE SHOTS.

This is exactly how I like my erotica to read. There is a PLOT that connects the steamy love scenes. A plot that actually makes sense. Yes, a bit of mystery and drama (and I was surprised by just WHO was creating that drama) that Ms, d'Abo meshed into what could have been just a sex romp. And she meshed it very well, indeed.

I called them love scenes, as opposed to sex scenes, because that's what this was about. Th

BDSM club owner Josh and his flirty nature was Hot! The ease in which he embraced his sexual desires for Beth and Oliver and the way he went about teasing and tempting them to explore this had me panting! What I liked about each:

Beth - she was a strong in control woman and had a very dominating nature and often wanted to be in control but realized that she also could submit when she trusted someone. She had a little heartbreak in her past and was fired for having sex at work; so working in a BDS

Christine d’Abo is hooked on romance. As a novelist and short story writer with over thirty publications, including the immensely popular Long Shots series, the imagination is always flowing. She loves to exercise and stops writing just long enough to keep her body in motion too. When she’s not pretending to be a ninja in her basement, she’s most likely spending time with her family and two dogs. ...more
