Oh, I'm sorry - I wasn't under the impression that the reader already be stimulated prior to reading, or initiate reading in order to encourage said stimulation.

I didn't read the description to surprise myself. Yeah, I was surprised by the complete angle of titillation I received. Hmm, maybe I'm an old crone or dried up ditchwitch, but for some reason, I don't like Erotica. I'm not sayin' every Erotic book/writer is shit, and I should just STFU because Erotica fangirls are at my heels, because I

This was free at Amazon so I thought "why not."

It's a good idea. Several writers using it as a promotional tool to let people know they're out there and what they offer. I had not heard of any of these writers bar Emma Holly before.

I can't rate it as it's not a book per se, just sections of individual books together, as well as snippets on the writers and their websites etc following their book's piece. Oh yes, it's the hot bits with a slight lead in. I enjoyed all of the writing, but some more

My favorites are listed below:

"His Forbidden Touch" by Shelly Thacker - was well written and sweetly erotic. There was a gem of intimacy shared between the characters long before the touching . . . I liked how the author describes the sound of the waters Ciara is bathing in and how those sounds alone add to Royce's desire and arousal. I will definitely purchase this novel because I want to know what happens next. By the way, I already love Royce for the strength he portrays, knowing his role, hi

"Phwoar... who needs fifty shades? This is scenes from 10 different books put together, and though I haven't read fifty shades... I think they would kick this Christian Grey's ass!!"

This is a collaboration unlike any I have read before. I like to read anthologies to get a glimpse of how authors write, but this was also a glimpse into a specific book by the authors. Each story starts out with a synopsis of what is going on within the book each scene comes from. Each scene we are given is a “steamy” one so we also get a sense of just how steamy and romantic the book is.

The stories are all Erotic and/or Romance but they range in content from contemporary, historical, to paran

A great premise....take some hot and steamy scenes from a few romance novels and put them all together in an anthology. Unfortunately, with the exception of the first excerpt (by Shelly Thacker) all the love scenes fell flat and ca me off as quite over the top and cheesy. Maybe the scenes need to be read in the scope of the actual book in order to work, but irregardless, this Kindle freebie ended up being very disappointing.

A free compilation from ten authors ranging from mildly hot to combustible (e.g, a Tales of the Shareem scene by me as Allyson James is in there). Just the good parts! Gives you a taste of what we all have to offer.

This was actually disappointing. I hadn't realized it was very short excerpts from ten different erotic romances.

His Forbidden Touch (Stolen Brides, 2)
After the Fire (Hidden Cove, 1)
Just Perfect (Perfect, 2)
Lips That Touch Mine (Grayson Brothers, 3)
Justin (Tales of the Shareem, 7)
Hidden Crimes (Hidden, 3)

My Take
I believe, however, that the stated idea for this "novel" of excerpts is to provide the hottest bits from those novels. Like I said, the ostensible excuse provided. It's really jus

At my local huge-box store, there are assorted stations where ladies in hair nets offer samples of food. I'm assuming the intent is to lure the customer into buying the product, which is usually conveniently located nearby. Sometimes, the sample is so bad that I wonder why the companies would want the consumer to know in advance just how bad it is. They would be better off putting their money into packaging. Then by the time the consumer spits it out, the money has been spent. I suppose the cust ...more

this was a nice teaser.
After reading this book I found many now-favorite authors and books.

I've returned to it many times to find a new book to read based on the sampler.

One favorite:
After the Fire (Hidden Cove Firefighters, #1) by Kathryn Shay
Here is also where I met Allyson James aka Jennifer Ashley one of my absolute FAVORITE authors who wrote two of my all time favorites:
The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie (MacKenzies & McBrides, #1) by Jennifer Ashley The Mad, Bad Duke (Nvengaria, #2) by Jennifer Ashley

Sampler compilation from 10 different romance novels. Provides a quick story/character background, and then presents one steamy excerpt. Lots of different romance genres represented: historical, paranormal, contemporary and other variations. A very good way to get a taste of what the author has to offer in style and substance. Interesting enough for the price of free, for kindle. If one sample doesn't float your boat, easy enough to move on to another. Gives links to the author's websites, so if ...more

This was my first romance book. Normally I avoid romance novels like the plague, but ever since discovering Felicia Day's Vaginal Fantasies series, I've been intrigued. This was a free download on Amazon, so I figured why not. There were a few stories I enjoyed - two of them, His Forbidden Touch and Heaven's Fire, prompted me to seek out the full length novels (the former of which I devoured in one sitting that same day, and then immediately bought the other two in the series) - but the rest of ...more

This was a pretty good book. It was very different in that each chapter was a brief synopsis of a larger work and then one really good love scene. What I really liked about it was I got to read brief portions of books in genres I would not have normally read, such as paranormal romance and historical romance. This lead me to decide that maybe I should try a full length book in each genre as I enjoyed the brief glimpse into these works. I added a couple of more books to my TBR and expanded my lit ...more

Recommends it for: Nooooope.
Another one of those free Kindle reads that left me wondering WHY.

Basically, this is a collection of excerpts for different books, putting all the 'good parts' together to lure you in so you want to buy the full book. If anything, these little pieces put me off of reading the entire story if pretty much all of them. I mean, sure, they were pretty steamy, but the scenes were clearly cut out of a bigger story, pulled out of context and none of them really stood out and overall it was just meh.

This is a great way to promote books and get readers interested in your novels. I’m a romance buff and I was eager to read this book. I have to say it didn’t disappoint.

Although there were some stories I didn’t care for, such as Hidden Crimes and Lips That Touch Mine (it was way to drawn out and by the time it got to the love scenes I had lost interest).

But I did enjoy the rest of the stories, especially Just Perfect and Justin: Tales of the Shareem. It makes me want to buy the actual books and

26/1 - This is actually a good way to read a sample of, what I think, is one of the more important parts of a number of romances before you commit to buying or borrowing them. You get some back story in the introduction and then it's not just the romance scene, but everything leading up to it as well, so you're not just plopped into the middle of the scene going "What's going on? Whose line is it, anyway?". I probably won't keep this ebook, as reading the small excerpts over and over is likely t ...more

A little disapointed by this one. It is a great way to read multiple types of erotic fiction to see which genre you may like best. If you are just getting into reading more erotic literature it is worth trying some of the stories were a little mild to be included in a book with this title and description. It is a quick read with the short stories. I may go back and read a few choice stories again but don't see myself reading the whole book again.

When I was buying this book, my expectations were high. But I found that taking out the supposed hot, steamy scenes out of a book doesnt quite leave still steamy. Of the 10 excerpts, i found just one steamy, that for me is a sad score, considering. Oh well
Suffice to say it just goes to prove that you really need to build up a story, bulk it up, give it body then life and thus enjoyment will follow naturally from the reader!

Ten short samples from ten different books, and while there were a couple that sounded like something I would like to read more of, the majority of them were disapointing. However, I did get this free for my kindle off of Amazon, and I do really like the idea behind the book, as it allows the reader a chance to sample the book, without having to spend the money only to feel like they wasted their money if they don't like it.

Discovered my personal choice is not short sex related stories... I like getting to know the characters and following their stories vs... bam here they are... and bam its over.... some good stories in this book but would not pay for it.

I found this on the FREE Listing on Amazon... will definatly check out some of the authors in the book though I think some are worth reading other stories.

This was a pretty good book. I liked all the steamy scenes. Reading all these has gotten me to want to read almost all the books they were from. There were a couple that were just ok, but most of the parts were pretty good or really yummy. This is a good book if you're wanting just to read hot parts. The characters were definitely varied and kept me interested in the majority of the story lines. Good fun quick reads and some heart-pumping thoughts to keep you warm. Enjoy!

This was free for the Kindle so I gave it whirl. This book is ten steamy excerpts from ten different books/authors. Some excerpts were more steamy than others. Some of them have enticed me to add the book to my 'to be read' stack so I can read the full book; other excerpts, not so much, but I added more to my TBR stack than not. Quick enjoyable read.

I actually didn't mind this book. It reminded me of the years I spent slowly glancing through books in the bookstore, trying to get enough of a feel of the writing to want to buy. That seems to be the clear purpose of a book of excerpts - draw the reader in with a steamy scene to get them to purchase the whole story. Nice scenes.

This is a book of "the good parts" of several different books. It isn't a full story, but a sample of others, just the "good parts" as they say in the description that I read. So if you are looking for some other books that you might like, this gives a nice variety. Very short, I think the kindle version I have is 125 pages.

fun sampling of different new-to-me authors!

Be warned: this is NOT an anthology of complete novellas, but a sampling of SCENES from different novels.

It's fun if you're trying to find new authors to try, and want to judge them by whether or not reading their sex scene will make want you to skim/barf/giggle.

What a great idea! I love having a book of excerpts of "the good parts" from a bunch of different authors. It gave me several new authors I liked to try. I like this much better than a novella. I usually hate short stories- they feel too abrupt and I almost never find a new author I like from them. But this was excerpts, so the storyline didn't feel cramped like a short story does.

This was an interesting compilation. I was drawn towards some of the pieces more than others, but the collection gave me a great opportunity to check out the writing styles of a bunch of authors I've never read. I'm definitely going to go back and check out some of their works in full. Definitely worth the steamy read!
