Dieses Buch fängt an, als ein ungeborenes Kind im Bauch ihrer Mutter bemerkt, daß Soldatenmäntel nach toten Soldaten riechen, und dann lässt es nicht mehr los: in ein hastiges, impressionistisches Erzählfluss, schildert es ein Kinderleben und gibt auch ein seltsames Blickwinkel auf die Türkei der 50er und 60er Jahre.

I loved this one less than The Bridge of The Golden Horn, but I suspect the translation might not be as good as the other one. I hope it's much better in German.
