Guilty Pleasures
Alyn's review posted on Guilty Pleasures

Ever since I was first introduced to the Powertools crew I have been hooked on those handsome construction workers wondering if they really exist somewhere in the world. With Powertools, Jayne Rylon has created a group of characters filled with trust, passion, love and acceptance for one another that is sinfully sexy and beyond beautiful both inside and out. While the books can stand alone individually, they are best read in order unless you want to spoil...more

This was a nice finish to the series. At least I think it's the finish. :-) I hadn't planned on reading this one because I always get so confused with so many people involved in the scenes. I didn't have that problem this time. In the first major scene, it was one girl and all the guys. I didn't lose track of who was doing what. Then the next scene I can remember was just a threesome really. With three more people looking on, granted, but only three involved in the sexing. The third scene (were...more

What can I say??
I LOVE this series so much! I love all the characters and was heartbroken at the end of the last book for Morgan and Joe....but Jayne wouldn't leave us hanging like that, so I knew she'd make it all HEA before she ended the series.
This story is a true mix of the characters, but mostly focused on Joe & Morgan's desire to have a baby and all that the crew is willing to do to make that happen. I dare you not to have to take a break with either a boy or a toy while reading this o...more

First of all, let me just say that the author is mean, and here is what I mean by that: I’m a big sap, so I spent a LARGE portion of this book in tears!! I love, love, love this series and all its characters, so to see Morgan and Joe in such emotional turmoil tore me up. Then later to see the victim of the accident and everybody around him so distraught tore me up again. Seriously, have tissues handy.

That being said, there’s also some very sensual scenes as well, naturally. The night Morgan gets...more

This story was somewhat better that the others and it made me cry a bit. I don't think I could live with the uncertainty of not knowing, but I guess that is what fiction is about.

I was really heartbroken for Dave(he is my fave) and I cried a bit about it.

I was kind of hoping that we got to know who was the successful one of the lot. Although I was hoping too that be some miracle Joe was the one.

I DO hope there is another book in wish we get to see what happened to Dave and the baby. Maybe a tip...more

Whereas as nailed to the wall was physical this was pure emotional spilling into the every scene! The crew has moved forward, families are being planned and connections are strong on all the levels and crossovers. Morgan and Joe are heartbreaking and the crews response has to be one of the most moving, and totally hot, scenes out there. Dave is still a big softie even when he is frustrated and we see Kayla's emotional side. Mike stays in charge and Devon, Neil and James provide overall support a...more

It was alright, there seemed to be a lot more emotional issues going on instead of the steamy issues. It seemed a lot shorter than the other book. This crew just can't catch a break. Also I think there's a set up for a new crew that deal with hot rods, Joe's cousin and buddy show up in this book. And some crazy thing happen to Dave (view spoiler)[ I mean really they fucked the feeling back into his leg?? (hide spoiler)]

Last book on this series and I discovered the last two were the best, maybe because they were longer or just maybe because the crew is all together to help someone or just to mess around.

Last book ended when we discovered Kate and Mike were expecting a baby, of course everyone was happy but Morgan and Joe can’t conceive and things are getting a little difficult for this couple, so as always the crew came to the rescue and they decided to enjoy a night of donating sperm the old way.

This book felt...more

Hands down Hammer It Home is my fav book in the series!

As you would expected from the Powertools series there were plenty of HOT sex scenes but the reason I enjoyed this so much was the emotions that were a huge part of the story- this time I really felt the connection, love and willingness to help one another in good times and in bad times.

I can't wait to read the spin off series Hot Rods!

For what its worth....the beginning should get more stars. If you are reading this type of book you are generally not looking for life altering mind blowing story lines.....not that this is one of those but to much story not enough sexy. I will say I look forward to the spin off series though. ;-)

This wasn't one of my favorite of the series, but it was still a good story. I thought the solution to Morgan & Joe's problem was nicely executed once everyone knew what was going on. I thought the part about the injured crew member was alittle rushed. I wanted to read more about recovery period, not just flash forward a few months. I liked the introduction of Eli and Alanso, and am looking forward to reading that book/series when it starts.

Hammer It Home was my least favorite in the Powertools series but was still a good read. It was intense, emotional, and introduced guys from the Hot Rods spin-off. After meeting the super sexy mechanics I'm looking forward to King Cobra, Hot Rods #1.

Jayne Rylon’s stories usually begin as a daydream in an endless business meeting. Her writing acts as a creative counterpoint to her straightlaced corporate existence. She lives in Ohio with two cats and her husband who both inspires her fantasies and supports her careers. When she can escape her office, she loves to travel the world, avoid speeding tickets in her beloved Sky and, of course, read....more
