An interesting first-hand account of the events surrounding the 1891 Shearers' Strike, which led eventually to the foundation of the Australian Labour Party. There are also some reminiscences about the early days on the Clarence River in New South Wales. Julian Stuart's daughter Lyndall Hadow edited the book and provided an introduction.
