The whole reason I picked this up is because Liz Reinhardt collaborates. I’d been looking for something of hers to bring back what I’d loved in Brenna Blixen#1, (that would be a female lead with her head solidly planted on her shoulders; that grounded girl with so many options open to her.) Not to mention the totally surprising moments of those smocking hot sexy times. The two that followed failed to live up to what the first had set… but lo, LENGTHS has brought back that loving feeling. 6$

First of all, I just LOVE this cover! I was sold on the book before I even read the synopsis. Ok...now on to the goods. As some of you know, I'm a fan of Liz Reinhardt's and when she asked if I'd be interested in reading her new book that she wrote with Steph Campbell, not only did I say yes, but HECK YES! This is my first book by Steph Campbell and since this is a collaboration, I tried to see if I could pick out who wrote what. I have a guess, but who knows if I'm right. Anyway, what I found w...more

This book fell short for me. Which is sad, because look at that cover! It's amazing, right?
Someday I'll learn not to let pretty covers entice me...
I wanted to like this, but to be honest, I couldn't get attached to any of the characters, or their supposed "love" story. It was the cliche young stupid girl with problems meets young stupid boy with problems and their love makes everything perfect kind of book. And maybe I've just read it too many times, but it definitely didn't work because I beli...more

I'm giving this book 3 i might lean more towards 2.5 but I didn't flounce so theres that. I wanted to love this book... I really really did. It's New Adult and the last few in that genre I've read, I have absolutely loved, but this fell short for me.

Ok, finished and I still didn't like it. Two stars is being generous. Again these are some of the things I didn't like:
-Hero, Deo (22 yrs old ) and Grandfather who he lives with get drunk together often.
-Mother to the Hero makes sexual comments to him about his love life.
-The heroine, Whit (19 yrs old) and her casual sex buddy who is not the hero. They have no connection or interaction other than “hey, come on over”, they have sex and one of them leaves.

HOLY MOTHER OF. WOW!
I am a big Liz Reinhardt fan, the woman is wicked with words, and by wicked I of course mean WICKEDLY AWESOME! I had the opportunity to reveal the cover for this book, which I love, and was very excited to be asked to review the book!

Smart. Witty. Fun and Sweet.
I really enjoyed this read. It was engaging, romantic and I couldn’t get enough of the cleaver writing. Whit and Deo were broken in so many ways but their amazing journey to finding their way together was fresh and exciting. Whit was tough and stubborn and though she let fear keep her feelings hidden, she was gentle and caring. Deo was adorable and so charming in his surfer slacker ways! I can’t imagine anyone not liking his character and finding him completely hilar...more

I think I may have mentioned in one of my other reviews just how much I like Liz Reinhardt's writing. I have read Steph Campbell earlier, too, and loved her.
And I really loved this.
I'm not even gonna lie, the main reason I loved it was Deo. I mean sure, the story was great, Whit is an interesting character, I loved Deo's mom and her herbal concoctions (she reminds me of my mom so much), but Deo? I think he may be a new among my favorite characters! His lack of direction in life troubled me so mu...more

I really liked this one a lot! Frankly, Lengths had a lot more depth than I was expecting. I pretty much thought that it would be a quick, easy read. A little sexy, a little angsty...and it was those things but it also dealt with grief, guilt from a loved ones passing, and how to heal after you don't feel like you're worth it.

This is really a 3.5 stars.......this was a great book. Great story, loved the main characters (Deo more than Whit), loved the setting and the side characters. The bedroom scenes were hot, so there should be a warning label on the blurb for this book, because YA readers might stumble upon this and find themselves reading something hotter than they're accustomed to, but overall the story was great. My only two complaints, and the reason why this book only wound up with a 3.5, is that there were t...more
Loved! Loved, loved....LOVED!
Favorite part of this whole book... DEO. His strength, understanding, unbelievable charm, will, and his huge humble heart. Despite his father basically being a deadbeat he is hands down one of the best heros. He sees Whit and is done, in love and willing to fight for it. Not to mention his surfer boy hot bod and California good looks. He is the TOTAL PACKAGE. He has his own inner demons and challenges but his strong will is remarkable. Brilliant man.

All Whit wants is a fresh start from her past memories which haunt her all day and mostly nights with thrashing and screaming for the loss of her brother which she thinks is her fault. She is filled with guilt, grief and sorrow so badly that she has cocooned herself from other feelings...so when she meet the hot and sexy surfer boy Deo her plans just may fail..cos she likes him..a lot.

This book made me look differently at this whole 'New Adult' genre. Whit is a girl running from a painful past, keeping to a rigid life plan in the hopes of remaining in control of her emotions. Deo is a loveable beach bum whose parents relationship effected him more than he'd like to admit. They meet at the tattoo shop where Whit works, and immediately sparks fly.

So, those of you who follow me on Twitter know how I felt about this book. I'm going to try to stay coherent in this rant because, as writer myself, I know it sucks when people hate your book. But, well, I really hated this book.
Actually, it wasn't the book I hated, it was the heroine. I just...*hated* her. In found her to be selfish and immature and cruel and a huge, huge coward. I tried to have sympathy for the thing (the reason given) that apparently caused her to be this way (although, as we...more

First off before I get into my like and dislike of this story I must state that this is for a mature YA. I would say 16+.
Now on to the good, the bad, and the ugly.......
The good I started out loving this book. The minute Whit and Deo meet I felt sparks and couldn't wait to see the relationship evolve. The first intimate moment in his jeep was so Hot!!! This book surprised me. When I first started reading it, I didn't think I was gonna like it as much as I did. The characters really grew on me.
It starts out with Deo. A surfer beach bum slacker with no ambitions in life. No job, no prospects but a lot of personality. He meets Whit. A guilt ridden, closed off girl who is running away from painful memories of the past.
At first I didn't really care for Whit, but as the story went on I understood her more and by the end of the book I really liked...more

This sounds like it would be fabulous, but it just wasn't. At all. Here's why I couldn't finish it:
1) The swearing. I don't personally use the f-word, but I understand that most people do. I can even appreciate swearing as part of a character trait, or to add something to a particular scene. However, I don't think it's necessary to see swearing take up every other word, practically. To me it just detracts from the reading experience and shows how unintelligent the characters are that they couldn...more

Yes. I’m going to sink into what I feel for you. I’m going to sink into the good times and the scary shit. I’m going to sink with you, because I’m tired of drifting and treading, never committing to anything. I want to sink with you.
I love these lines just as much as I love this book. No needs for the usual words for love - which is highly overused for some YA novels. Lengths is my second Steph Campbell book, and way better than Grounding Quinn.

Other than the strange relationships that Deo[dorant] had with his mother and grandfather - one who would butt in on his sex life, the other who they would insult each other like they were peers - Lengths didn't leave me with any mad love for the characters.
I often don't mind profanity in books because I curse, too.
But in this book's case, a lot of the cursing was incredibly misplaced and unnecessary.

Cover & Title - 5/5
Favorite Line - "You have it all backwards. It's not clinging to someone that ruins everything. It's never grabbing on in the first place" & "I look at him through half-closed eyes, and he's even more gorgeous slightly blurry. He needs to leave. I never want him to leave."
Favorite Character - Marigold.

I just plain loved this book start to finish. More an NA than a YA read, time to make a new shelf perhaps. A sexy, touching exploration of two people who are broken in their own different ways, though they do not appear so to most people, who come together and find that in helping another you might just help yourself.

Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt got down and made a little new adult baby! Ms. Reinhardt has a tendency to write steamy words that melt your panties so my vagina was very excited! And that's exactly where I felt this book. HA! I felt Lengths between my legs! (excuse me while I laugh at my accidental double entendre).

I gave it five stars but I think it not fair, becouse this book should get six or even seven stars.
I really enjoyed reading this mature ya book, it was really nice suprise after reading books where some of the ya authors thinks that when a heroine has more than 18 years old and has sex with her boyfriend it's called mature ya, but it's not.\

Well this book was likeable but it wasn't in my opinion amazing because the story itself was fairly tame and a little predictable. It was enjoyable but it didn't leave me wanting more or feeling any raw or intense emotion. I could put the book down for a considerable amount of time without needing to find out what happens next.

Wow, what an incredible book!! I loved it (and Deo)! This is a Contemporary, New Adult book, and was told from two POV's. The on/off relationship between Deo and Whit was enough to cause a permanent heart arrhythmia. My emotions were all over the place while reading this book! I was excited, pissed, happy, sad, and everything in between.

I really liked this book. It was an easy read with emotion and heartbreak but also with hope and unconditional love. There were some great raunchy scenes, funny scenes and scenes that made me catch my breath.

Emotions emotions.
This book is full of emotions. Locked in a box emotions that tend to let the person break once opened.
Here are my thoughts:
1. Locked in a box. Sealed until death?
Whit's character depresses me. I saw how she dealt with all her sadness and loss. It's not a happy picture. Do i liked it? No! Who would? She tends to avoid commitment. Yes it's hard to feel the pain again when you let yourself have deep feelings for someone again, but holding back from those feelings is not the solu...more

Though I have to admit at times Whit was a tad annoying with pushing Deo away so much; she's lucky the boy didn't just say screw it. Deo isn't the type to settle for one woman but he sees something in Whit he just can't be without. I think in his behavior and constantly telling her he loves her would make that evident to her but she's so twisted up by the past loss of her brother and holding on to all that pain it makes it almost impossible for Whit to let Deo all the way in. They both make mist...more

Lengths is a story about a romance between Whit — a girl running from her past — and Deo — a sweet surfer kid who's a bit of a slacker and kind of heading nowhere.
The sex in this book is hot! It is a little more descriptive than in other books I've read lately, so just beware, if you don't like too much sexual detail! But it's very sexy.
I enjoyed Lengths , but it didn't totally live up to my expectations. I think I just felt a little disconnected from the story.
