I admit I haven't heard of the author, L.A. Dale and would probably never even read this book if I didn't have the habit of stalking checking my GR friends and books they are reading. So, one of my GR friends is currently reading this book, and first thing that came to my mind was - "I WANT TO READ IT TOO! Look at that lovely pink cover! I love pink!" (sounds shallow, but c'moooon, I know there's many of you out there that have an instant crush on a book just based on the cover).
So, I head to

Ok, not just any man but the man of her rock & roll dreams.
Daisy a newly divorced woman of a thirteen year old daughter who is away at school. She is wallowing in the fact that her good for nothing husband left her for a skinny busty 19 year old bimbo. But, on his way out proceeds to tell her he doesn't love her & oh by the way I haven't wanted to make love to you for a while cuz your hips have gotten to big. Yet, after he leaves she can't eat & loses a bunch of weight plus his dead

This was such a fantastic little read! I was stuck at the car place getting punctures fixed in the tire, sitting on my own with my phone reading in the corner while waiting, and I was laughing out loud, smiling like an idiot to myself while reading this. It's hilarious!!! But the actual story is so 'darling' (excuse the pun). Oh what a delightful read. In such a short space the author manages to make you feel like you are in the country with Daisy. How she meets Henry is fantastic and you just r ...more

Such a sweet novella you will devour! Daisy Darling is not thrilled with the cards her life has dealt her lately. Yet that all changes on a stormy night in the countryside when a stranger knocks on her door. L.A. Dale knows how to craft chick lit tales that keep you glued to the pages. This is one of my favorite short stories of 2012!

Short and sweet but wishing that the story didn't end too soon! It would have been fun to read the reaction of the ex-husband when sees Daisy with a hot rock star! Ü

Perfect read for a lunch break or if you have spare 20 mins. A short story that still manages to encorporate a full story and leave you satisfied at the end.

Short and sweet, would have loved a bit more of Daisy and Hawk but still thoroughly enjoyable :-)

Cute short story. Reminded me of Nottinghill.

Quick, cute couple hour read. I didn't mark it down because of it's length. It's a novella and I hate it when people give low ratings because they say, "It's too short."

It started off cute and strong, but there were just too many times where I found myself not believing it or wanting at least a tad more depth to the hero (as much as a novella can offer at any rate). Overall a fun read if you've got a few hours to kill.

Cute predictable story. A quick Summer read. The beginning was a little slow, very Briget Jones-esque. The story was very Notting Hill-ish...as the character points out a couple of times.

Lindy began writing at University but never really wanted to be 'an author'. She wanted to be a Princess or at worst a Kindergarten teacher. Her first novel, Heart of Glass, was penned in 2007 and since then she become known for writing funny, forthright romantic fiction with a cast of crazy, comic characters. Lindy is also well-known for her short, romantic novellas which have repeatedly topped t ...more
