Abomination Magazine, Issue 1, edited by Corey J. Goldberg, is not a bad little collection of short stories with a few poems thrown in for good measure. The short stories varied considerably, but they all had one thing in common: they each were a showcase of grotesquerie. There were no run-of-the-mill monsters in any of these tales. There were definitely monsters, but unlike any you've ever read or heard about.

Burning Like Dead Skin - Rocco takes care of business like only a hitman can.

Selection - A Nazi living in Paraguay becomes the hunted. Okay, yeah, the Twilight Zone did this already, but really, you just can't get enough of Nazis getting hammered by karma.

Chittering - Paranoia in poem.

Whispers in the Skin Gardens - A fantastic scifi/horror tale of Kevin's first-and last-night in the Skin Gardens.

This was a very good collection. You can sign me up for Issue #2 right here and now. I found the stories to be fresh and disturbing, not a "safe" one in the bunch---exactly what I like in horror. They range the gamut from noir, to "Twilight Zone" style, to Lovecraft, to dystopian future to just downright weird and I felt that they were all strong entries. I must say to the publisher that I could not read the comic on my Kindle Fire---I say this so that it can be corrected in this and future ...more
