But when her plans of running in a charity marathon are side-lined by a broken foot, her old flame's suggestion becomes a challenge amidst her friend's simmering doubts.

Hilarious! Quirky! And way too much fun. While being very fast paced, and full of snappy humor, it has moments to cause deeper reflection. It may not be for everyone, but it is one I thoroughly enjoyed. Anything from a Bake Sale where Charlotte can only put together No-Bake goods because of her tendency for kitchen catastrophes, to Biker Judges, and mishaps all around, these not-extremely-deep, but endearing-just-the-same characters may just add that bit of comic relief you need in the heaviness ...more

Lisa Buffaloe's fun-filled book, Grace for the Char-Baked, was like a breath of fresh air! Most books and movies are full of profanity, violence, sex, and drugs in some form or another. It is refreshing to discover a wonderfully written story, which beautifully demonstrates Christian lifestyles, morals, and values.

Reading Grace for the Char-Baked was thoroughly enjoyable, uplifting, and wholesome with a dash of good old fashion fun! I give Lisa Buffaloe's book two thumbs up and highly recommend

The idea of someone with a charred thumb, so to speak, holding a bake sale is quite amusing, so I was rather curious to see what this novella had to offer. It also gave me the chance to try a different author, which is always fun. :)

Charlotte's ineptitude in the kitchen is quite extreme, which gives her friends plenty of near-disaster scenarios to tease her about. Their relentless jokes about her lack of skill got a bit stale (pun intended) for me after a while, making me feel kind of bad for he

Quick read (took me about an hour) but funny and light-hearted with several scenes that had me laughing out loud.

This was a cute quick read. I think it went too fast with everything predictably happening. Then the epilogue was a short paragraph 24 yrs in the future. It was a little campy and the dialogue was unbelievable.

Little Grace for the Char-Baked was originally written to be part of a novella collection. She's standing on her own and hopefully will give you a quick and fun read.

A quick, enjoyable read. Not heaps of substance to it, but it made me think about and assess a few things - ie, making sure I put God before others.

It was a short book. Quick, fun read. It was ok, nothing special. Lisa's other books are much, much better.
