The old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover" is a good example of how I feel about this book. Not the cover literally but the characters underneath, they are rich and funny and full of everything you would expect and more of mythical creatures. Like any person you just meet it takes time to get to know them and it took me a little longer than usual to really get a feel for who they were. Once found out who these characters were and immersed myself in their world I was excited with what I fou...more

I sat down to read Sheri Fredricks’s book, Remedy Maker, recently and was floored. The concept that Ms. Fredricks’s has come up with is one that I have not run across yet, and let me tell you originality goes a long way in capturing my attention.
From the very beginning I was intrigued by Rhycious, the centaur man who is suffering from PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, who while physically strong has a softer side, which is usually brought out by his patients. He is THE Remedy Maker, or...more

Remedy Maker by Sheri Fredricks is a contemporary fantasy/paranormal romance that I took on a lark. It turned out to be a delicious treat with some fairly serious underlying themes in the middle of its mythological creatures' Romeo and Juliet love story and backroom political machinations.

Rhycious doesn't start this story in a frame of mind to be anyone's hero. Or anyone's much of anything. All he wants is to be left alone. This centaur is the Royal Remedy...more

Rhycious lives in the Boronda forest and he is the Royal Remedy Maker known for his healing skills. Unfortunately, Rhycious is also known for suffering from PSTD. A battle between Centaurs and Nymphs was fought for two centuries and one hundred thirty years ago, the Centaur Queen, Savilla, finally was able to institute a treaty. Of course, the treaty did not mean that the prejudices between the two species stopped existing. Fighting for centuries and trying to heal the wounded has left Rhycious...more

Paranormal Lovers beware!! I am about to add an enticingly new favorite hero to our list of shifters, weres, and vamps And this hottie comes with four legs and extra thrusting power...lol! Rhy is a loner, hiding from the world in his self-imposed prison in the middle of the forest. He seperated himself from the others to hide the onset of a terrible disease that started plaguing him after the great wars. He was a healer at heart, greatly enjoyed his work, and added daily to his knowledge of medi...more

I instantly fell in love with the characters and story line of this book, Rhy especially (hot, hot and HOT!) I also loved the concept it carried, the different races intermingling for the first time known in history and them falling in love without a second thought of the background of the evil prejudice that has clouded many’s vision for far too long. I found myself laughing, crying and holding my breath in suspense many times over throughout reading. There’s a ton of humor, action, adventure,...more

I was instantly pulled into this unique world of mythical creatures living in a contemporary world, yet remaining mainly hidden from humans. Rhycious is a Centaur who was a soldier in the Great War with the Wood Nymphs, but is now the royal Remedy Maker with PTSD. The Centaurs in this world spend part of the time in human form and part of the time as part human/ part horse. Patience is a Wood Nymph and her slang is really odd, which is funny because Rhy has no idea what she is saying half the ti...more

Remedy Maker was my first fantasy romance and first by this author. What a treat! Not only was the remedy maker male, but hot and intriguing! The author did her research and pulled me in from the first pages!! I entered a world of fantasy and incredible characters and I didn’t leave until the end! I fell in love with Rhy and Patience from the start. And did I mention the hero is HOT! I loved the concept of this book and hope the author writes books for a couple of the side characters because I f...more

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!

I must say that I am sad REMEDY MAKER by SHERI FREDRICKS ended and I had to move on to another book. There was nothing left unanswered. The story was finished beautifully. I just didn't want it to end. I loved the characters so much that I was really sad to say goodbye to them. I have never read about Centaurs or Wood Nymphs before and I was so intrigued with them an...more

I awaited this book's release for a while so I was glad when I finally had the chance to sit down and read it. I've got to give credit where credit is due. Ms. Fredricks excelled at world building when she created the mythological Boronda Forest full of assorted creatures of myth and fantasy.

Rhy is one of those tortured, loyal heroes who has a duty to carry out, but he also has his heart in the right place. Patience was a entertaining heroine, in my opinion. Her quirky vocabulary tickled me sin...more

Where to start...Ah, at the beginning. Months back I had the great privilege to read the rough draft of Remedy Maker. I was blown away--I knew a winner when I read one. And Remedy Maker was just that. A winner.

Now months later, Remedy Maker is published and I read it again. W.O.W! (Wonderful, Out-of-the-ordinary Writing)
Sheri Fredricks has tapped into something new in the romance genre. The rich characters and detailed world she has created is oh so refreshingly fresh. I gobbled this book up and...more

I really liked this story. At first I felt a little lost with all the information about the mythological creatures. Then after about 5 chapters I was hooked. This story is about two people/creatures falling in love. And the many prejudices they face because they are from different races. It is also about politics and unrest, which gives and great twist of intrigue to the love story.

Could not even finish (which rarely happens) because of the heroine's speech. Maybe if there was a reason for it I could have excused it, but at least through half way through the book she just speaks in that ridiculous manner. She was supposed to be this great mediator but I couldn't figure out how when you couldn't understand a thin she was saying.

I have always been a lover of mythology, so was already excited when I picked up Ms. Fredricks's Remedy Maker. However, the story still managed to surprise and delight me. Having a centaur as the hero is simply inspired, and I love Patience the wood nymph heroine. This is a tale, not only of unexpected love, but of race relations, palace intrigue and PTSD and the horrors of war. The author wove a seamless tale taking me back into a fictional time that was haunting and so rewarding to follow thro...more

And steamy!!!

I loved this book! Sheri has created a wonderful world within the Boranda forest. Its filled with centuars, nymphs, trolls and some humans. This is a love story at its finest, love does conquer all in this book. It defeats hundreds of years of prejudice brought on by war between the mythical beings and the heroe's bad case of PTSD. What to know more...buy the book?!

An exhilarating adventure with the likes of centaurs; trolls; nymphs; satyrs and more! War and racism has taken its toll. Hope seems to have vanished. Rhys is a remedy maker who has an unconscious woman practically shoved on his doorstep...he wants her gone so he can get back to his crappy PTSD-filled life!

Adventure; humor; treachery; passion; bigotry; nature and love will be your guides if you choose to get on this wild ride!
Maryroya
What a great story. I loved our hero, hurt and distant. Our heroine, wild, free and always in his way. Love it!

Always on the hunt for the uncommon things in life, author Sheri Fredricks thrives on creating adventures in her mythological kingdom for her readers.

A former engineering secretary, Sheri lives on the beautiful central coast of California. "I wanted to move away from inflexible right angles and create an unboxed world with no boundaries." A voracious reader since her early years, Sheri found her b...more
