A good bad boy is hard to find.

An Out of Uniform story.

Seth Masterson has been lusting over Miranda Breslin since the moment he saw her on a Vegas stage. Now that he’s been asked to watch out for her as she opens a dance studio in San Diego, he’s all over it, figuring it’s his chance to get her in his bed. Except the stubborn single mom seems determined to deny their crazy...more

Recommends it for: fans of the series; fans of military erotic romance
...And this series keeps rolling along. Another winner, another scorcher, good story, believable dialogue, nice flow, everything works. While the hero in this book, Navy SEAL Seth Masterson wasn't my favorite in the series (he started out as a super-jerk...although he was a sexy, bad-boy jerk), the heroine, former Las Vegas showgirl Miranda Breslin was one of my favorites of the whole series, and her six year old twins were adorable. But the character who almost stole the show was Seth's roommat...more

You beauty! Another winner installment in this series that I've grown to really like. Loved Seth and his bad boy ways and Miranda for her strong will and her two beautiful little children.

Enjoyed seeing the other members of the group in this too and the development in each of their respective relationships. And Dylan, can't wait for his story which will really takes things to a whole new level.

A thanks goes out to my friend BamaGal for loaning me this book. Thank you!

To be honest, I had mixed emotions about Seth. I kept a mental tally of what I liked about him and didn't. For the first half of the book, the things I didn't like about him were adding up. He seemed to be a little too forward and while I can appreciate determination in a man, there were a couple other things that bothered me about his personality. He simply did not care about Miranda's obligations to her family. She has two kids to care for and all Seth cared about was how to get into her pants...more

I enjoyed this. Steamy sex scenes were good.

Seth is such a bad guy, totally smitten with Miranda. He stalks her but in a good way. He hangs out at the bar where she works so he can scare off threatening customers. If he starts to do something and she says no, he immediately stops. So he’s not threatening her, other than she’s having a hard time resisting him because he is soooo sexy. She is raising two children and has no time for sex or dating. Another problem is Seth doesn’t like kids. Seth sm...more

Earlier this year, I read my first Elle Kennedy book, Feeling Hot and immediately purchased her back list and read all of her Out of Uniform series. I adore this author’s voice. She writes such sexy, sexy heroes who are all Navy SEALs. Hello!. Very alpha and cocky, but she pairs them up with women that know how to handle them. They also have great friendships with their fellow SEALs, something I always like. (and by friendships I mean, they are so friendly they have ménages all the time. Total w...more

Another sexy, good read from Elle Kennedy in her Out of Uniform series. I greatly enjoyed reading this from beginning to end.

I've always liked Seth (since we met him anyway), with his smart, sarcastic mouth, and distinctive personality - he did NOT like kids. Miranda was a nice contrast to Seth. She's dedicated, absolutely, to her two children, her new business, and doing things on her own. In fact she's a bit stubborn about not accepting help from others. She believes that, really, she can only...more

I have really liked this series but I just could not get into this one.

Could not engage with the mc's and the only thing I liked was getting a bit of the guys and gals from the previous books.

This was my least fav of the series. Seth was an asshole and even though I found out later what his objections were towards kids, I just didn't get why he was so fixated on Miranda and getting her in bed. Really? He could and had any woman he wanted although who would want him. He was a major jerk. And seriously, could he be a SEAL with long hair and a lot of scruff? I would think they would have to be pretty clean cut. I didn't really care for Miranda much either. She seemed like a good mom but...more

I can’t believe this is book number nine is Elle Kennedy’s Out of Uniform series. I’ve been reading this series from the start and the one thing I love is that while all of her heroes seem to fall fast and hard, the stories are always different and fresh. Getting Hotter features another member of the SEAL team in hot pursuit of a single mother of twins. Problem is he wants the Mom badly but has no interest at all in her kids.

Another HOT one from the Out of Uniform series! ;) I really enjoyed Seth and Miranda's story.

While the story and characters were great, I have to be honest and say I'm still hung up on Cash. I thought Seth might be able to steal my top spot for Book Boyfriend with his bad boy attitude and tattoos, but alas he was not able to do so. I did like him, but he started off as a jackass who wanted nothing to do with Miranda's kids while trying desperately to get in her pants. Later when his reasons for...more

I wasn't really looking forward to this one as Seth seemed really prickly to me and I thought his phobia of kids was odd, especially as no one knew why. So it figures that Seth would fall for a woman with not only one kid, but two.

Seth's actions at the start of the book did nothing to endear him to me. I was appalled when he told Miranda that he wanted her, wanted to start something with her, but didn't want anything to do with her kids. Yeah buddy, that is just the way to get what you want. So...more

“What is it about that woman [Miranda] that gets your panties in a knot, man?”

He wasn’t in the mood to be harassed, not when his cock ached so badly he could barely stay upright, but just as he was about to offer a sarcastic response, he noticed the genuine curiosity in Dylan’s green eyes. Huh. Weird.

Instead of snapping, Seth simply shrugged. “She yells at me a lot. I kind of dig it.”

Dylan burst out laughing. “I’m not sure what to do wit

Getting Hotter by Elle Kennedy is mindless fluff. At the time, I needed some mindless fluff. Some people read paranormal or thrillers for their fluff, but I prefer romances. I find they clear my palate, like sucking on a lemon. Some romances are better than others and I turn off my super-nitpicky reading mode but the characters still have to be appealing to me.

This book has well over 600 pages. I don't know how the hell the author got that many pages. This was the fluffiest piece of fluff I've...more

Navy SEAL Seth Masterson has had a thing for former showgirl Miranda Breslin since the first moment he saw her. Now that she’s moved to San Diego and his mother has ordered him to keep an eye out for her, Seth thinks it’s the perfect time to seduce the beautiful dancer.

Miranda, a single mom with two jobs, doesn’t want any entanglements. Particularly not with a man like Seth; she’s had her fill of ba...more

Each story I pick up by Kennedy has me falling further and further in love with her writing. She has quickly become one of my favorite go-to authors for a sexy good time! I will admit that in this story though, she really won me over with the sub-plot and secondary characters instead of the main hero and heroine.

Seth has had a crush on Miranda for longer than he can remember, but she never gives him the chance. He wants more...more

I absolutely love the Out of Uniform series, but I have to be honest on this one. It wasn't my favorite.

I loved Miranda. Fiercely independent, she's doing her best for herself and her kids. Without the twins' father to help, she works two jobs as she tries to establish herself and build a life for her family. Unfortunately Seth keeps hanging around her and though she's resistant, she can't deny her attraction.

I didn't have the same positive feelings for Seth, however. Out for pure sex, he spent...more

3.5 Stars. Well written with an interesting plot however I didn't feel as engaged as I did with the last book. Seth was a douchebag for half of the story and I just couldn't rid myself of that image for the remainder of the book. I felt that Seth was too "flat", lacked passion and he failed to tug at my heartstrings, unlike some of the side characters in this book who may turn out to have much better stories of their own.

I loved this, Seth Masterson, yummmm. Couldn't get the image of Marco Dapper out of my mind..... Finally get Seth's story and it was perfect. Miranda fought the attraction but only because she had two kids to think about not because she was playing games. Their chemistry was off the charts, loved how they couldn't keep their hands of each other and how they were strained to do it when the kids were around. Dylan's story starts to evolve here and gets interesting too. Seth's reason for his kid ph...more

I have read this series from the beginning and have loved everyone of them. While Getting Hotter is not my favorite in this series, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. I love catching up with all the characters from the previous books as well as the unattached members of the SEAL team. I’ve never been disappointed in a book in this series; I just love these characters and their outrageous antics too much to not enjoy them. Most of all this book left me wanting more and I can’t wait to see w...more

From the very first moment SEAL Seth Masterson met dancer Miranda Breslin, he was in full out lust. He wanted her in his bed, in his kitchen, hell anywhere he could get her.

From the minute she met Seth, Miranda was in lust with the stunning man. She quickly made the decision for look don't touch, after all a mom of twins has her priorities. Despite Seth's insistent courtship, which is more him stopping by her work and making sure she is safe, Miranda has stuck by her guns and never accepted his...more

I love this full length format! OK, honestly, I was not thrilled about Seth. He seemed like a jerk to me and my feelings seemed justified by his behavior in the beginning of the book. But, as the story progresses we find out so much about him that you just have to love him...he reminds me a lot of Zsadist (Z) from Black Dagger Brotherhood. Miranda is the perfect heroine for this story. A strong determined single mom who puts her kids and business before her personal needs. When Seth is tasked wi...more

One of the best romance books of 2012
I loved the characters in this book and more than just the H and h. Loved, loved, loved Dylan's part in the story...I hope his story will come out really soon and I suspect it will be a hot menage a la Barbara Elsborg, who is the best of that genre, imho. The heroine of this book was fantastic and I loved the story line where she was all about taking care of her sweet and adorable children but trusted the hero with them too, maybe even helped overcome his mis...more

‘Getting Hotter’ is the 8th book of the ‘Out of Uniform’ series, the story of Miranda and Seth.

Characters: unrealistic, sometimes irritating and antipathetic.
Yes, I know that it is fiction, but still it has to be believable. That’s the point of reading fiction: to escape reality and to be absorbed in a made-up world, and in the lives of the imaginary characters, laugh with them, cry with them, feel with them. I didn’t get it in this story, as I was constantly fretting about that how unrealistic...more

Title: Getting Hotter

Series: Men out of Uniform bk 8

Author: Elle Kennedy

Genre: Contemporary

Seth Masterson has been lusting over Miranda Breslin since the moment he saw her on a Vegas stage. Now that he’s been asked to watch out for her as she opens a dance studio in San Diego, he’s all over it, figuring it’s his chance to get her in his bed. These Out of Uniform series makes me feel both naughty and nice! I have yet to be disappointed with any of the characters or plot lines.

Miranda rocked as the female character because her twins were always first and foremost in her mind. Everything that she did, she thought about the consequences so it took her a while to say yes to Seth’s proposal of just being friends with benefits. But she gave and when she did, it was smoking hot.

Seth just wanted Miranda and wanted nothing to do with her twi...more

This one was good but I had a hard time caring for Seth and Miranda. They were boring. I liked the children, they were fun, and I actually liked the scènes witht hem more than the alone time between Seth and Miranda
I spent most of the book waiting for moments between Dylan and Aidan, now that's what I call chemistry! Going to read their book right now!
