I read the Amazon reviews, all glowing, and I think, Did I get the wrong edition? Because this book was an awful experience for me. Costantine describes "connection" as being the social and socially-aware interactions we have with our communities (macro- and micro-) and our general environs. To her, it's a verb world -- the doable act of connecting is what makes all the difference. To be connected is to go to the events in your town, bring cookies

I don't understand why others rated the book so low. The author made some really good points about being connected and having that sense of community. Even if these are all simple ideas, sometimes, with all the hustle and bustle in life, we need a reminder. I have to wonder if the people that rated this book so low because it's "basic" actually do the things she recommended in the book. Sure, the font is off, but not so much that it's distracting. Maybe the author was trying to keep things ...more

nothing earth shattering, but some good basic reminders about things we all should be doing. maybe it was because i read it on my kindle, but all the different fonts were really difficult for me to read at the beginning of each section.
