I started reading this a while and gave up because I didn't like all the food analogies at the start. I picked it up 6 months later and persevered and found that he soon drops all the culinary metaphors after the first chapter and it turns into a really interesting overview of economics and its history.
Would definitely recommend it as an introduction to economics.
