There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. But she is the bride of demon prophecy, and her blood grants incredible powers, her flesh immortality. Now the demon realm is...more

Aww man, so many missed opportunities this volume. It's pretty quiet compared to everything that went down in the demon world arc which could have provided some downtime to explore the after effects on Misao's character but that didn't really happen. :( (view spoiler)[For example, I really wanted Misao's new offensive capabilities to be related to the development of her senka maiden powers. Instead: surprise baby? D: And her decision to drop out of school didn't sit right with me. I do think it'...more

'Misao is the bride of prophecy whose blood gives power to the demon who claims her. But most demons want to keep her power for themselves - by eating her! Now Misao is just trying to stay alive...'

A strange power is growing within Misao, and she is starting to become frightened. Is this a consequence of being the Senka Maiden, or is there something else going on...?

After a lingering sense of mystery at the beginning of the volume, it is discovered that (view spoiler)[Misao is pregnant (hide spo...more

Wick-a-wick-a-wahhhhhh. Oy! Enough with the waterworks already! Just when I think Misao seems to be smiling more in Black Bird, Vol. 15, she starts bawling again. I feel like I'm being drowned and suffocated by this twit's incessant tears.

In spite of the unrelenting crying, this volume was much better than the past few volumes have been. Masao seems to be getting stronger, but we find out the power growing inside of her has a surprising source. (view spoiler)[Here I thought I mig...more

As soon as Misao assumed that she could be pregnant in this book, it was like it was automatically true that she was. She just mentioned to herself that her period was a little late, and BOOM!, the rest of the volume was about her being pregnant with Kyo's child. Not a single simple pee-on-a-stick pregnancy test was taken. Not a single trip to a hospital for a blood test to see if she was pregnant. Just, BOOM!, the second Misao feels her period is a little late, she IS definitely pregnant. I di...more

This volume continues to set up the final story arc. We learn that Misao is in the family way and she and Kyo are working on coming to terms with it. It's more tender than the other volumes though Kyo is still Kyo. We are left with a cliffhanger at the end with the final revelation about the fate of the Senka Maiden.

Misao still cries too much for my taste. She's just too immature and wishy-washy in spite of all that they have gone through. The contrast between her and Kyo makes it increasingly d...more

This was a 2.5, 2.75 and the occasional 3 out 5 stars for me. It just depends on the parts I think about.

So I hate myself for continuing to read this series, even more so for still kind of liking the series. The best way to describe this series might be Twilight on crack. No wait; make that Fifty Shades on crack. It's one of those mangas I never want any teenager I care about (or really any teenager) to read. I'd be worried they might get the idea love should be a twisted dominance game.

So, Misao begins to develop powers but we quickly find out the reason. Most of this volume revolves around this revelation, but the end does give is a cliffhanger. Part of the conclusion to the Senka Record is revealed and Misao's dreams of a happy future are shattered.

This was one of the better volumes because I didn't feel like she was crying at every flippin' moment. She still cries a lot, but not like previous volumes.

Un tome charnière après le bouleversement du tome 14.
Beaucoup d'amour et de tendresse, mais une fin de tome horrible (comme d'habitude) et qui donne affreusement envie de découvrir la suite !

Finally the records of the Senka Maiden are revealed. And so are new developments with our main characters in this volume. I feel like we're really winding down to a exciting conclusion.

It is not the worst manga I've ever read but it is pretty bad but I still keep reading to know what will happen.

And so the fate of the Senka Maiden is revealed. Curious to see how it all ties up into a neat bow at the end.

Okay, read this.
I demand everyone read this now.

A lot better than volume 14, and those sweet moments between Kyou and Misao just melted my heart!
BUT (of course there is a but) Misao's pregnancy is going to cause trouble because of the revealing of the last pages of "The Immortal Fruit Records"...
Amy
This series is my guilty pleasure. It has so many things (plot devices, character types and shoujo cliches) that normally would annoy the heck out of me. Yet I still find myself wanting to read this series to the end.

Although I liked this volume, I felt like the whole series was going to end since the battle ended but obviously not. Now the last four volumes is probably going to be the readers following Misao's pregnancy. :(

Black Bird is one of those mangas that never fails to disappoint. Always hot and interesting :-)

Wasn't as entertaining as the ones before. Had a predictable plot.
