What do you get when you take the best moments of Pride and Prejudice, Gone With the Wind, and Jenna Jaxon’s writing talent and combine them all into one?
A fabulous story-well worth reading.
Initially, Duncan believes Katrina a skilled ‘actress’ playing the part of distressed lady, claiming to be kidnapped and auctioned off at the pleasure house against her will. He continues to ignore the ‘lady’s’ protests up to the point she knocks him unconscious and escapes.

Only Scandal Will Do packed quite the punch right from the start with Lady Katherine Fitzwilliam being kidnapped on her way to a ball and delivered to a brothel where she was gagged and sold to the highest bidder in an auction. The author did an excellent job of drawing the reader in and making you feel the wide range of emotions that Kat was experiencing.

Only Scandal Will Do by Jenna Jaxon is, for the most part, an absolutely delightful Regency romp with just a touch of romantic suspense to add the right amount of spice to its story of a marquess in pursuit of a scandal-free marriage and a sword-wielding heroine who promises to give him anything but.

Duncan Ferrers, the Marquess of Dalbury, has a reputation for being a very bad boy. The scandal that occurred the year before caused him to take a vacation from London's polite society and head to Italy until everything died down a bit. Now that he's come home he's on a mission to make things better by staying out of trouble, staying away from scandalous mistresses and finding a wife to help him establish a respectable family. But for all of his self lecturing about not being caught in undesirab...more
ONLY SCANDAL WILL DO by Jenna Jaxon is a delightful escape and not at all what I expected. The plot is much more than boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy and girl get together. Yes, it's a romance and happily-ever-after is a requirement, but the characters' journey to the HEA took unexpected turns and kept me turning pages.

The story started with a blast of action with Kat being kidnapped and taken to a brothel to be sold to a highest bidder in a fantasy action. Kat's encounter with her masked buyer causes her to hate him, awake to him even though she's never seen his face. With her escape she gains her freedom back but scandal is snapping at her heels which colors all her decision making - making for one interesting historical romance!

I enjoy the seductiveness of Regency era romances, and Jenna Jaxon’s Only Scandal Will Do was a pleasure to read.
On her way to a masquerade ball, Lady Katarina Fitzwilliam is kidnapped and taken to be auctioned off at a brothel. Duncan Ferrers, the Marquess of Dalbury, was on his way to the same ball, when a friend convinces him that he should attend the auction. Duncan has a thing for redheads, and when he spies the flame-haired Katarina, he buys her. He doesn’t believe her story of kidnapping...more

I have always had a soft spot for historical romance. It was what I first cut my teeth on and I've taken pleasure in reading them ever since. Jenna Jaxon shows her passion for historical accuracy by describing setting and attire in detail.
The Marquess Dalbury first meets our heroine on a sale block in a whorehouse in London where he buys her for a remarkable sum. She pleads her case to be released, that he help her. He believes it part of a sensual game and makes a move on her. She wounds him,...more

My rating is more of a 3.5 than a 3. There is only one reason why it probably wasn't a 4 and that is because of the "love at first sight" bit. Duncan seems to love her when he has only known her for 5 minutes and most of the time she is just trying to explain the situation. Once I got passed that, I really did enjoy the story.
Kat is a strong female character with a mind of her own and the will to do things on her own. I really liked her wit and ability to stand up for herself. Duncan is a nice e...more

I have to start by saying, I anticipated this book's release for a quite a while. While I love mostly all genres of romance, historical romance just happens to be my favorite. Ms. Jaxon would often share excerpts on her website. Apparently, those little snippets did their job and reeled me in. And my anticipation was not in vain. Only Scandal Will Do was an enchanting, sensual read that engaged me from page one.

From page one I was hooked. How can you not be when the heroine (Katarina) is abducted, taken to a brothel and sold to the highest bidder for a night of his wildest desire! From the moment Katarina meets the hero (Duncan)--the man who bought her--there is immediate believable chemistry between the two. There is also a power struggle between them that is so real it's nearly tangible.

"A blade-wielding heroine who crosses swords with a master of sensuality."
I love this time period with the duels and the clothing and the manners. Jenna Jaxon did her homework to depict it vividly and believably with a light hand. The heroine was stubborn but you had to love her. Those swordfights--amazing! The Duke seemed so bad at first but his tenderness melted me. Maybe that's why I just wanted to shake Katarina at times! lol! I wanted to curl up and read this all day but alas, real life int...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the heroine's sassy attitude and the way that she keeps the hero on his toes.
I the twists and turns this story takes keeps you on your toes and makes you continue to turn the pages hoping that Kat and Duncan will finally come together.
I have to admit I had no idea what happened at the end was coming. It totally aught me off guard but in a good way.
Excellent work.

Excellent work.
A lovely regency romance with some nice twists. You'll certainly get two like the two main characters, who are so stubborn in their quests that it ends up being rather funny. It was good to see that there was more to it than the usual "they met, they kissed and they lived happily ever after." I had a good time reading it, and I'm sure the lovers of romance will do too :)
I loved how Jenna Jaxon completely transported me with this book. The accents and dialogue were amazing and they just pulled me into the past. I also really liked that Kat was a very strong heroine and pretty much stuck to her guns and didn't give in so easily (can't stand that). Overall, a very enjoyable book.
Lady Katarina and her brother are attacked in their carriage. She is kidnapped and unknowingly brought to a brothel and put for auction. Up for sale for a night of pleasure, dark and twisted fantasies if the buyer is so inclined.

This book was just ok. I found the first three quarters of this book not that great. It tended to drag on and the lead female character was a real bitch most of the time. She went from hating her husband to over night being madly in love with him. The plot dragged until near the end. That was when it finally started to get good. Overall I would give it a 2.5 score.
