It'd be impossible to give any Jabès book less than five stars; let's be honest here. However, I've been putting off reading both volumes of The Book of Questions because I own them & they're going with me when I move, but these three volumes of The Book of Resemblances are OOP and go for ridiculous prices & the library has them, so I thought I might read them first. The son of a Jewish family, he was brought up in Egypt, where he received a classical French education. He began publishing in French at an early age, and was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1952 for his literary accomplishments.
