To read Michael Thomsen is to be unexpectedly moved by essays with titles like "Come on my Face" and "Breaking up in a Text Message." Each one is a great bait and switch, trading its salacious title for the considered, emotional contents. Thomsen is an unusual thinker who deserves to be read. Full disclosure: I know the guy and I'm breaking my usual rule of not commenting on books by people I know personally because, really, it's just that good.
