While this is Book 3 in the Vampire Destined Series, It is a stand alone. You dont need to read the first to books. Yet, once again Rachel has written a story that is so different from the first two books. The story begins with Joaquin and Ariana being in love, then comes the betrayal. This where the meat of the story is. This story really held my interest from the moment I started turning the pages. I was left with only one question...will Devlin get his own Book next?

When we start Vampire Betrayed, we find a couple in bed having sex. Interesting way to start the story. The two main protagonists are Joaquin, who is a vampire, and Ariana, a human. The key to the beginning of this story is that Ariana has no idea that Joaquin is a vampire. She knows he has some strange habits, but their lovemaking was great, and he was wonderful with her. But then Ariana begins to get strange emails from someone unknown with comments about the man she is sleeping with….the man...more

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This book opens with a sex scene, and all of the background that led to the sex is seen through random memories as the book progresses. Joaquin is a vampire, unbeknownst to Ariana, although they have been near constant companions for the past three months. Despite her being an “investigative reporter”, there is little about Joaquin that she...more

Joaquin is a vampire and he has fallen in love with a mortal named Ariana. They have a fabulous three months together before she learns about his true nature. Instead of following what she feels, she believes someones lies. Lovers become enemies. Destiny and treachery are a foot.

This book is the third installment in the Vampires Destined series. I haven't read the previous books in the series, but this one turned out to be an intriguing read. It's safe to say it can be read as a stand alone nove...more

Hello sexy cover! Joaquin has done something he swore he’d never do-he fell in love. Ariana loves him too and they have a fantastic 3 months together. But Ariana has been getting emails from someone claiming to want to help her. Ariana is urged to ask Joaquin about himself, and lo and behold, he finally tells her thinking she can handle his secret.

Joaquin is a vampire.

Ariana feels betrayed that he’s been lying to her for so long, and wants nothing m...more

Cover: Fine...

Story:

It was really, really ordinary for me... Nothing stood out.... There were times when I got bored and had to jump a few pages...

After Arian was changed and had a "twisted" mind, I thought to myself she was an idiot... Letting someone control her, but I do think the witch had some work on that... Seeing that she was blind on what a vampire really is...

As for Joaquin, he was alright...

Overall, it was okay... But quite disappointed...

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It gives a different approach to the world of vampires and that made it a refreshing read. I loved all of the characters. Each strong and intense in their own way. So if you want to try something with a fresh approach on vampires I would consider giving this one a whirl.

(I didn't rehash the whole story line because everyone else has already done that)

I loved this book!!

Once again Rachel has written another fantastic story with different characters from the previous books. Joaquin and Ariana start out together so I wasn't sure how this story would go, but go it did! I was kept wondering and hoping all the way to the end.
My advice to anyone that has not read a Rachel Carrington book is give it a go you really don't know what you are missing!!

A very good paranormal romance. Its fast paced, with lots of action and anticipation. I have read this one first as it said it was a stand alone novella...I will definitely check out the others in the series. I really liked Devlin...even a short glimpse into his character I would love to read more on him x

A free read :-)
This series is a collection of stand alone.
Will have to give it 3.5, not quite a 4 star book.
Will I buy the rest of the series ?? All depends in the price.

Decent read but lacked excitement.

I spent seventeen years working as a paralegal before I left work to focus on my writing career. Working in the legal field gave me plenty of fodder for writing suspense which I didn't really do until 2006.

For the first part of my writing career, I focused on fantasy and paranormal romances, mostly wizards. I still love my wizards, and every now and then I get a desire to bring one to life again,...more
