It was a good story, but I do believe I should have read whatever series this book was a spinoff to. As it was, I found the book to be a 3.5 out of 5. I think if I'd been more invested in the whole in-depth world, it would have been more. It just seemed there was so much out-of-the-loop backstory that I had to just accept and move forward with.

Well. When I first started this I had a vague notion of comparing it as a number one book and a spin off title to a standard and making comparisons.
I failed to consider that the book might fail on a level of being a good story. It did.
For a number one the world building is horrible, after finishing it I have still got basic questions, like why gold bullets?
The idiot plot is what you call the kind of plot that needs all the main characters to be idiots for it to work. Darla and Noah act like tota...more

4**** This book seems to have two titles. Even Amazon didn't recognise that and I ended up get both :-(
Darla the heroine is a human with fire starting abilities that she has never been able to fully control. Noah the hero is an immortal enforcer with an iner demon to control. Throw in other demons and werewolves even a fae prince all battling for power and you have the mix for a fast paced all action paranormal romance. This book hardly gives you time to draw breath. Well done I'm glad I have m...more

Hunting the Hunter by Lisa Renee Jones
This is a story of Darla O’Neal, a firestarter and Noah the man who has to talk her into coming to the good guys. Noah does the only thing he can do to help Darla is to work for the bad guy. This story is very good and I enjoyed it very much. It is well worth the read. I want to read about the rest of the enforcers
