Another great book with all the favorite characters. I am very glad I stumbled on this series and cant wait to get stuck in to book three.
Lexi is now working for Solomon (who is yummy) in his Private Investigator Agency because she sees the world a little differently to those hardened, more experienced ex detectives and fits well in under cover situations. Adam Maddox, her boyfriend (also yummy) is not keen on the idea and the amount she has to lie to him while undercover.

Second installment was still as fun as the first. There's nothing deep here. Just a great summer read. Started to notice the UK quirks in this one despite the fact that these books are supposed to take place in the States (from what I can gather?). Things like an off hand turn of phrase here and there where I thought "I don't think anyone on this side of the pond would say that". Also, where the first book was pretty well on the ball proofreading-wise, this one felt a bit more hasty with some mi...more
This book was great. I loved the three investigations overlapping and complicating each other. I loved the sexual tension of the triangle, and how Lexi isn't completely sure what she wants. I didn't like the "I have to prove myself" in the PI office line, but it didn't really detract from the book. I'm intrigued by Ruby's role in the book, and I can't wait to find out what happens with Serena's relationship. This is just well-done, escapist chick lit, and I love it!
The 2nd book in the series is entertaining with all the same elements that I like: suspense, humor, action, and romance. However, once again Ms. Chafer fails to develop the villain I am able to figure it out all to easy. I didn't enjoy the main plot as much as I did the sub-plots and characters. Still, I went on to read the 3rd book and enjoyed it. I would have given it a 3.5 but not a 4, hence the 3 star rating.
I definitely liked this book, but not as much as the first one. While I still loved the characters and Chafer's writing, I think the main reason I didn't like this book as much as the first was because I found it more predictable, from the characters' actions to the "villain". The writing is good; the pace still keeps it a page turner. Overall, still highly enjoyable even if I like the first one better.
I just loved this book. But the funniest part of all was the part where Lexi was in the park with Maddox and her brother Garrett and his family. When Solomon walked up and Lexi's nephew Sam asked him if he was a friend of Aunt Lexi's and did the nasty with her also...I was rolling on the floor laughing. That was too funny. These books bring too much joy to read and I just love reading them. Thank you.
This is the 2nd book in the series. I enjoyed the storyline and characters even though I figured out the mystery before any of the characters. Lexi's relationship with her best friend Lily and new friend Ruby is very entertaining and have a bit of a "I Love Lucy" feel.
I just downloaded the third book, Command Indecision.
