Thanks to Goodreads First Reads and Tina Klinesmith for an ARC of Journey to Almighty.

This was an enjoyable book to read. Michele Ramirez is a young woman with a rough past. An abusive ex-boyfriend, drug and alcohol abuse, and other mistakes in her past continue to haunt her. When police officer David Matthews meets her in the hospital after having been beat up by her ex-boyfriend, Michele figures he just wants to rub her past in her face. What he offers her is what she never expected: a chance...more

Since I WROTE this book, I won't tell you how great I think the story is but I will talk about how much I love the transition Michele makes. I thoroughly enjoyed writing a story that was about "real" life situations, not perfect romance in a perfect world. It's a story of imperfect people living broken lives and how they are still able to find love and see God working daily.

The characters were good and had some fun interplay. David didn't have a lot of spunk, but he was solid and stable. Michele, I kept imagining as younger than she was, had a good development as she matured and changed through the book. A bit of missed potential, the plot was still fun...more

This was a wonderful book! Great way to express the forgiveness that God had for all of us and how to learn from our past and move forward.
