This the second book has truly shocked, amazed, and left me speechless in so many ways that it's hard to describe. I think the only way to experience this is to read this book. Yes this ia sequel to Undermountain yet it also proves itself as a stand alone book too. I don't say that very often about books in a series yet it's very true for this book. Here are my thoughts about this book.

Emma and Danny Michaelson are planning a trip to their grandmoth...more

This highly-awaited sequel to “Undermountain” is every iota as impressive as its predecessor in “The Undermountain Saga.” Non-stop adventure races at the pace of a monorail train, while empathetic characters (Breyony, Danny, Em, Shiv, and Wa, as well as the character everybody would like to leave behind-Bronson) keep readers entranced. In “Undermountain,” we readers were “abducted” underground, far beneath Earth’s surface, to confront both myths and legends, and science fiction turned fact. The...more

I read Afterlife, the 2nd book in the Undermountain Series by Eric Edstrom in one day, and I must say I did so because I could not put it down. Suffice to say I was not at all disappointed. Our group of heroes must now confront the forces of evil they thought were left behind when they made it off the mountain in Book 1. Their journey takes them back to Undermountain and other unexpected places where extreme danger awaits. The evolution of Danny as the disinclined savior of mankind as well as th...more

The second installment in the Undermountain Saga does not disappoint. Edstrom continues with his compelling descriptions, creating many worlds so vivid that you feel like you are walking through them with the characters. His clear, flowing way with words allows you to flow seamlessly from world to world with the action of the story. He also uses this volume to give his reader a deeper understanding of the history of the various races involved in his story. This is worked right into the action of...more

Danny came home from school and noticed a van that he thought he had seen before. Ever since they had come back from being rescued in the Canadian Rockies, it seemed like the press followed them everywhere. With Danny’s implant, it was easy for him to store each license plate and make and model of the cars in his computer memory.

He was excited about going to his Grandma’s in Indianapolis tomorrow because the group-Danny, Em Wa and Breyona were all going to meet there. Bronson invited himself and...more

Afterlife is an action packed fantasy that you will not want to put down. It is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing.

Danny, Em, Wa, and Breyona are still dealing with the notoriety of their rescue from the Canadian Rockies. They plan to rendezvous at Danny and Em's grandma's house, but things go very wrong when they are attacked. Danny and Wa are kidnapped by minions of GorVit to help retrieve a weapon that could bring about the destruction of not only the bigfeet but also the hu...more

I wrote this book. I absolutely love it!

All of my favorite characters are back, human and hairy. And of course, since there’s a second book, you know our hero’s will be seeing their alien friends and enemies again.

It’s been more than six months since they returned from the mountain, bringing something away with them that’s changed them forever.

Now they are having a reunion of sorts. All meeting up again at Danny’s grandma’s house.

I can’t wait for you to meet Grandma. She is amazing and I just love her. So much character in such a tiny...more

The author was kind enough to gift me a copy of his book. Get your copy here.

What I really about this series so far is that these are intelligent YA books that don’t treat the reader like kids.

Another of my favorite things is that the protagonists don’t seem to be perfect – Danny is seen to struggle with doubts concerning his girlfriend and realizes that if he cheats on her, he will be responsible for the consequences.

Breyona,on the other hand, is learning that good intentions aren’t enough to m...more

So, back in February I read a rather unique bigfoot sci fi novel that I thought was really great. That novel was Undermountain. And now.. there's a sequel, Afterlife *happy dance* And after having now read Afterlife I can say with certainty that this SERIES is fantastic!!

I've got to be honest, when I heard there was a sequel, I did wonder what could possibly happen now to these kids that had discovered the existence of bigfoot, and escaped to tell the tale. I was a little worried. Turns out, the...more

The second book in The Undermountain Saga was just as captivating as the first. Afterlife continues the story of all of our favorite characters from Undermountain, beginning about six months after the first book, as well as the return of our favorite bigfeet. The story begins with a bang and continues with fast-paced adventure throughout.

I can't give enough praise to the author's descriptive writing style. He really knows how to manipulate words to bring the story to life and bring emotion and...more

I flew through this book. It goes much faster than the first because you have already accepted the premis. It returns us to our favorite group of characters reuniting for the first time since escaping Undermountain. However, the reunion is shortened when Danny and Wa are kidnapped. It also ends with a pretty decent cliffhanger so I guess this means I'll be picking up the next book.

I recieved this book for review but that has in no way effected my opinion.
This is the sequel to Undermountain. I really, really enjoyed this book. At times it was very hard to put down. I really like that this series has "bigfoot" characters. It is different than everything else that is out there and its quite a refreshing change. I would definitely recommend this title as well as the author. Eric Edstrom does not disappoint.
