Michael Alexander is not your typical vampire.

He has a house in a small coastal California city, a software development team in Mumbai, and a black Toyota Prius. He wants nothing more than to enjoy the pleasant life he’s crafted for himself and the friendship of Kari, his new next door neighbor.

Unfortunately, Michael also has a stalker.

Bruce is convinced that only the powe

It's not a bad book at all. So, why such a lacklustre rating? Hear me out.

Ultimately, The Wannabe Vampire tries really hard to appease everyone and turns something mysterious and dangerous into a pretty suburban, uninspiring creature.

The book really needs to decide where the writing style wants to go otherwise it stays a pleasant but forgettable read. Does it want to become a comedy of mistakes full of dark gory humour like Shaun of The Dead or Zombieland? Or does it want to tackle extreme
Let me start off with saying that the synopsis can be a bit misleading. I was expecting sort of a quirky story about a vampire living in the burbs, falling in love with his neighbor and triumphing over an evil stalker along the way. What I found was a bit different.

Michael is a vampire who centuries ago was the A-typical vamp from the horror movies. Killing and pillaging to his heart's content. Things caught up to him and he was almost killed. On his last leg he found refuge with a forgiving fam

If you are looking for badly written teenage angst, Twilight-style, skip this! :) The Wannabe Vampire is a well-written and entertaining read. The hero is a vampire, but not along traditional lines. He doesn't brood or kill people. He's an interesting person. The wannabe vampire, Bruce, is convinced that he can rid himself of ghosts if a vampire would just turn him. I felt sorry for him. The other main character is Kari, not at all the fainting, useless female who shows up so often as a foil for ...more

This is a short-story introduction to our characters Michael Alexander and Kari Logan. Kari Logan has just moved into the small middle-class California town. Kari doesn’t realize that her handsome new neighbor is, in fact, a vampire.

Michael Alexander likes his current life. He is the supervisor of a software company located in Mumbai which allows him to work at night. He enjoys his quiet life, snacking on odd human food and watching old movies. But Michael was not always a mainstreaming vampire.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Wannabe Vampire (Michael Alexander/Kari Logan) - this was a surprise, it started out in a strange way and I thought it was going to be a waste of time but after a few chapters you get into the meat of the story and it turns out that it is much more complicated and deeper than first thought. The Wannabe Vampire (Michael Alexander/Kari Logan) (the title seems to indicate there may be more future books)

This story was a unique vampire story. While the vampire is very old, he believes he is the only vampire in the world and he lives just like a human. The mad man in this story is deranged but has some good intentions. He just goes about it all wrong. I give the story 3 stars.

The plot was unique in this story. Instead of the vampire doing the stalking he is being stalked by a man who has been driven insane by a ghost. The ghost has taken over Bruce’s life leaving him unable to function as a norma

The Wannabe Vampire is a story about Michael Alexander. He is a vampire, but leads a very normal life. He lives in a regular neighborhood, has a fantastic new neighbor, a good job, and he drives a Prius. He also has a very unwelcome stalker.

Michael's character is totally not that of the typical vampire, his life is just so normal! The only thing that is vampiric about him is his need for blood, and he does have that certain old world charm. He builds a friendship with his neighbor Kari Logan. I

I was attracted by the synopsis as soon as I read it. Michael is a vampire a little different from what we usually have in books. He only wants an only thing: to live in peace and not have any problems related to his condition. But when Bruce, a man haunted by a ghost, decides that our hero needs to transform him at all cost, the Michael’s life is going to turn into hell. Well it’s not that terrible when he meets with Kari, his new neighbor, a beautiful

Alex Taylor was born and raised in Lompoc, a small town on California’s Central Coast that is not too different from the one described in the Michael Alexander/Kari Logan novels. A long-time vampire fan, The Wannabe Vampire is Alex’s first novel.

When not writing vampire stories, Alex enjoys camping, blogging, reading, and playing with parrots. Alex’s first RV was very much like the one Kari owns,
