The Temptation is the sixth book in The Secret Circle series, as well as the third book to be written by Aubrey Clark, who took over the series after L.J. Smith had been fired.
Cassie is alone. The Circle—the closest people to a family she's every known—has been possessed by powerful evil spirits who happen to be Cassie's ancestors. And the only way she can free her friends from these spirits' grips is that she must get aid from an unexpected ally.

I won't read any of the ghostwritten books for The Secret Circle series or The Hunters series. By giving a 1 star to these books, I'm showing my dislike for Alloy Entertainment & HarperCollins for firing L.J. Smith. They are not allowing her to write her books the way she wanted, because they only care about what sells and don't have any respect for story telling at all.

I'm not sure what to say about The Temptation. There are many things about this book I liked, but also I lot I disliked. I especially disliked the predictability of this book, for example the consequences of the excorsism spell and the consequences of destroying the Book of Shadows.
But the other parts I really liked. I especially loved the way Nick was able to fight of his demon. Team Nick all the way:D

the secret circle had a unique beginning... the idea was good and the plot was nicely arranged. However for the last four books, it clearly was not written by the original author. the whole idea changed and it does not have the same maturity as the earlier two. the story becomes predicable and all of the character had loose their identity. it was an okay book, but i strongly believe that i will appreciate Aubrey Clark more if he/she write a whole new story on witches rather than adding on what L...more
It was so awesome! Aubrey Clark however did not clear alot of patches and made it unbelievable! Cassie and Nick should have tried again if the writer was giving us that Cassie likes him! Second. To adjourn, Scarlett? They didn't even remember that she almost KILLED the circle! Then at the part where they talk out the plan, Scarlett didn't even be like herself! However it was an appealing read, and I hope LJ Smith makes other witch books. And yes, this is the last book in the series.

hmm....this is a tough review for me as I am torn w/ what rating to give, and what to write. although this book, and the previous ones written by Clark, are nowhere near as good as the originals written by ms. smith, this one surprised me as it was actually decent; and I think the best of the three since the series was continued. overall, I found the story an easy, enjoyable read to pass some time; and liked how it all ended. although I liked this story better than the previous two books, the st...more

i cant cant to read this book i am not keen on the ghost writer bit as i feel that if someone comes up with an idea and weaves it into a story they should carry on with it as it kinda feels like a betrayal of the book however much i hate to admit it aubrey clark has done well with carrying on these books and i believe you should give it a chance before saying i will never read these book
The most interesting of the new trilogy, I consumed this in one evening. Cassie is still a frustrating character because you'd think she'd have learned a thing or two by now, and REALLY with the Adam relationship?? However, the rest of this book was engaging and full of the struggle between good and evil, friend vs foe, and the sometimes indistinguishable line between them. It was an easy read.

As far as I am concerned these books do not exist. There was no need to write new books and to take it away from the author is horrid. I cannot stand the publishers who did this they disgust me!
Eh...ok. I read 120 pages in a little over an hour! but I think it would've been way better if ti was written by LJ Smith
As I said before with my past reviews, I am basing this on the actual book, not who wrote it. And unlike others who have written "reviews" I have actually read the book.
I loved it. I enjoyed digging deeper into Cassie's dark side, and I loved the Cassie/Nick storyline. (view spoiler) Overall I really enjoyed the book, but I am kind of glad this is the last one (I think) s...more

This is hopefully the finale in the Secret Circle. I find that the story was fine the way it was until the ghost writer continued with LJ Smith's concept.
I managed to read this in a couple hours and it was a nice way to finally end everything that is going on with Cassie and her Circle. The drama with her father's heritage. She learns even more about her paternal family history, although I was really cheering for her and Nick to be together instead of her and Adam. But they managed to defeat th...more

I wish there is a book 7
People should not be allowed to give ratings on books they haven't read. I am disgusted by all the one-star reviews from people months before the book came out because they're still bitter about L.J. Smith not being the series' author anymore.
I really liked the book. I love the direction Clark took the series when she took over for Smith.

I love this series and this book is as good as all the others. Also, Aubrey Clark, who wrote books four, five, and six did a fantastic job keeping the characters personalities and relationships the same as L. J Smith wrote them in the first three books. I couldn't tell that it was a different author.

You cant just not read the book and already rate it. I understand the loyalty to L.J Smith and I admit it was so moronic to do that to her books but the idea and concept of the secret circle is cool! I wont stop reading it.
