"A charming book about a mysterious bear that shows up in the right place at just the right time. His comforting message and his cache of supplies always solve the problem at hand. The story is very reassuring on many levels, reiterating the old adage that all's well that ends well." - reader rev

A friend won this in a Goodreads giveaway and thought I might like to read it because I have collected stuffed bears all my life. I love the woman so I am going to forgive her for giving me this silly, sappy piece of trash. I had hoped that the bear would redeem the book somehow and it is such a short book and certainly no intellectual challenge so I zipped through it.

This is just perfect for gullible Christians. Made for them, in fact. There is a lady with a teddy bear store that is not doing

I LOved it! Thank you for reminding me that God Loves me, Chester Blue. I think that everyone needs to read this little inspirational book!
I won this book through the first-reads program.

God Loves You. - Chester Blue is the sweetest of sweet books. It is saccharine and innocence, optimism and oh golly gee swell. It's a book that warmed my sometimes cynical heart, made me tear up and smile. It's the warmth on a cold day, and the reassurance you need when you've been down and sad. Really, this book was just what I needed tonight.

The book begins with a blue bear named Chester showing up on the doorstep of a woman who sure needs it. He
I recieved this book as a giveaway and was very excited to read it. I actually saved it for when my husband was deployed so that I would get that friendly reminder that this book teaches. It is a great thing to remember and helped me to look at the things happening around me differently. Really this was a great short read book, the only reason why it is getting a low rating from me is because there were times in the book where we lost some of the journey in how Chester Blue ended up from one des ...more
I was fortunate enough to win this as a first-reads giveaway, but I would have gladly bought this book. It was one of the most up lifting and inspiring books that I have read in a long time. Suzanne Anderson is able to remind the readers that no matter what our circumstances are we are loved. She does this with a wonderfully told story.

Chester Blue is a very special stuffed bear. He is a source of understanding, courage, and a family bonding agent. But most importantly a messenger from God. Alt
It's a cute little story.
I was surprised how she moved the bear around without making totally unrealiatic. Some were a stretch, but hey, it could happen. It is a story after all. Most people read to get out of reality for awhile least I do ;)
It also showed the power of words....
Sometimes we just need a reminder that someone cares, anyone, to give us the strength to make it through another day. One step at a time. To encourage us.
And for those of us who believe in God, who better to
I won this book through first reads giveaways!!! I am so honored to have received this book which was autographed as well!!

I loved this book - what a sweetheart of a story, it is inspirational, magical and reminded me that we all need to have a little faith and remember that we are loved!

This book would be a great addition to your bedtime story routine!

This was a great inspirational book. It was fun reading where this blue traveled to help a person in need. Remember, God Loves You!
I was torn about what to write in this review.

The story is a great children's story but also a wonderful adult book.

The book is about a blue bear named "Chester Blue" who shows up in people's lives when they need him and God most. The book is upbeat and starts each chapter with a biblical quote. While it is short, it has deep meaning and a great story line.

SO if you like bears, or a story involving God, or a story about family, love and wonders, this is the books to read.

Thank you S.E. Anderson
Truffles by the Sea by Julie Carobini is a very sweet story. Gabby was living her life like so many do. She was doing what she thought she was supposed to, thought she was allowing God to guide her, knowing she was not always making good decisions. She gets caught up in a series of events that threaten to do her in financially and emotionally. I'll give her this, she stuck to her guns in her moral decisions. This is a sweet story that ends not unexpectedly. This book would make a great "by the b ...more
Chester Blue is a teddy bear with no true special powers. Even so, he manages to touch the lives of all who encounter this lovely blue bear. For each character in the book, times seem tough and then Chester Blue's tag reminds then that God loves them.

The tone of this book is charming and descriptive, however some of the stories in Chester Blue's travels were better than others. Particularly enjoyable was when Chester Blue traveled around the country with the Hilly Family. Occasionally, the narr
Miss Millie of Blossom, OH is faced with a dilemma. On a night so clear and bright, she looks up to the stars and prays for help. The next morning it arrives in the form of a little blue bear and his name is Chester Blue.

What follows is a story of how one little bear changes the lives of the people who need him the most. And he does this by simply showing up with suitcase in hand and being himself. However, there is something really important inside that suitcase. Nothing elaborate, just a needl

A journey of miracles, hope, and trust that will stay with you long after.

This story is a chronicle of a special teddy bear, who unwittingly travels with family after family, person after person, and somehow finds all in need. He casts light on peoples' troubles, clearing their vision to see through their despair.

Miss Millie is a sweet elderly woman able to reflect on past blessings, see a void in today, and hope, pray, wish, and dream for a better day. But her small town's hustle and bustle sl
Oh my goodness, what a delightful story! Cute, cute, cute! A little teddy bear spreading God's love wherever he goes. Have you ever felt sad, then had something very simple happen and it just cheered you up, and you thought "That is just what I needed!" Well that is exactly what Chester Blue does.
He seems to fall into the hands of the people who need him the most. I also love the little twist of having the blue thread in his suitcase and those finding him just happen to need the thread for some
"... some people gave up on their wishes and dreams because they'd been disappointed too many times in life and just didn't have the courage to keep hoping things would change."

Believe in Your Dreams. That's the message I took away from this book and one that should be shared. I thoroughly enjoyed reading God Loves You, Chester Blue - an encouraging book of short stories, all connected by this little blue bear who brings hope and love wherever he goes. I especially enjoyed the story about the t
A nearly perfectly written story! There were a couple of
typing errors and the failure to say how Chester got into
a strange barn. It also wasn't clear as to when the Hillies
moved in the first place. However, these are all minor
problems in comparison to the overall story.
Many individuals in this day and age miss enjoying many
simple pleasures of days gone by such as enjoying the
wonders of the universe, of or planet and God's creations.

A Touching Story!

The author takes this little blue bear named Chester Blue and sends him on a mission to those in need. Chester Blue brings a message from God with him. Chester Blue also comes with a little suitcase. What is in that little suitcase? You must read this book to find out!

I don’t know how anyone can read this book without feeling blessed. Chester Blue shows up where he is needed most. He comforts those who need comforting. He directs those who have lost their way. He brings families

God Loves You. -Chester Blue is a sweet story. I loved the message of the book. It reminded me of this quote from Spencer W. Kimball - “God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs". Chester Blue with his little suitcase travels from person to person working his magic to help those in need. A good reminder that one person can make a big difference to a lot of people.

There were some continuity and editing issues. I loved the first ha

(original review from August 2012)

The timing of it to arrive in my mailbox couldn’t have been more perfect. I received it by mail the day of my Grandmothers memorial service who passed away sometime in August. This book will always have a special place in my heart.
Funny how things work out. It's a cute, fun, happy go lucky story about a bear, who shows up when you need him the most, with a simple remin
Chester Blue shows up on Miss Millie's doorstep one day with no return address. She was having a terrible day after finding out her store will have to close. She finds hope with a little note that is tucked into Chester Blue's suit case...a note that says "God Loves You. -Chester Blue." She decides that she will send Chester to someone else that could really use him and includes a little spool of blue thread, just in case. It's such a beautiful tale of just how much a few simple words and faith ...more
I won this book through the Goodreads First Reads program. It is an inspirational, Christian children's book at I'd guess a 3rd grade reading level or so. It is about a teddy bear named Chester Blue who carries an inspirational note and some blue thread, and saves the day in different ways for the many people with whom he comes into contact. I enjoyed the first half of this book. It was interesting to see how Chester ended up with various people, and how he was able to help them. Things kind of ...more

A charming chapter book about the adventures of a teddy bear whose quiet presence is a reminder of a great promise - that there's a Great Heavenly Creator who cares. From the wild west to NYC, this book was lots of fun.

I know a set of eight-year-old twins who would love this as a bedtime read-aloud! The rhythm and flow is very lyrical, while the story moves at a good pace, keeping the interest level high.

As a writer myself, I did find it odd to see from Chester's point of view for Chapter 7 onl
The beginning of the book emphasizes how many
of the simple enjoyments in this generation are

to watch stars appear and finding different constellations.
Also, enjoying God's creations and lying back to watch
the clouds move and appear to change into different forms.
Miss Millie was such a person who did these things.

I received this book from this Goodreads First Read Program.

God Loves You, Chester Blue, tells the journey of a little blue bear, who finds his way to the hearts of those in need of a gentle reminder of God's love. He arrives first on the doorstep of Miss Millie, who learned the day before that her teddy bear shop would have to close. Her shop isn't the only place of business suffering in little Blossom, Ohio, her whole town is in decline. Miss Mollie takes her concerns to God. Chester arrives t

Sweet, simplistic and inconsistent. I forced myself to read it all the way through because I did receive it in a give away and felt it was part of the deal.
I do see an audience for Chester Blue though - children maybe 5-9 in Christian homes that want a nice bedtime story that teaches bible verses ( I think that's where quotes are from at the beginning of each chapter) and values based on the message that "God loves you", through the travels and presence of a blue teddy bear.

This was a simple and easy pre-Christmas read for me, and only took me a like 3 days to read. Though it was simple, it in no way detracted or harmed the story in anyway. You see what happens when something mysterious happens and you simply go with it instead of asking questions. You want something light-hearted, then go ahead and read this book.
This is a lovely book that is appropriate for everyone to read. I read it in one sitting and it made me feel so good while reading the adventures of this little blue bear...I highly recommend this book for all ages groups and anyone especially who is feeling down about something and wants a little pick me up.

Very good book about an elderly woman who owns a teddy bear store. she lives in a small town, where everyone is slowly moving away to bigger cities. After the building she has her store at is repossessed by the bank, she is forced to find something else to do. She sends a blue bear, Chester blue to stay with a family of 2 boys whose father travels a lot for work. the boys are constantly fighting and getting into trouble at school. The bear travels around with them and winds up having many advent ...more

Good story for younger readers.

The book has a good message, how being reminded of God's love can effect so many. More geared toward a younger audience, but even at age 48, it is good to be reminded. Fast read. I read it in about 3 hours, thanks to service being done on my car.
Here's how the story goes in a nutshell: Chester Blue the teddy bear is found by a person who has a perplexing problem. It is fixed with Chester's blue thread. God loves you. Repeat in next chapter.

I did not understand why the people always talked to the teddy bear like lunatics! (view spoiler) Although the author was trying to convey a good message (that God loves you), I found the story to be predictable, goofy, and extremely unr
