I recieved this book as a giveaway and was very excited to read it. I actually saved it for when my husband was deployed so that I would get that friendly reminder that this book teaches. It is a great thing to remember and helped me to look at the things happening around me differently. Really this was a great short read book, the only reason why it is getting a low rating from me is because there were times in the book where we lost some of the journey in how Chester Blue ended up from one des...more

Miss Millie of Blossom, OH is faced with a dilemma. On a night so clear and bright, she looks up to the stars and prays for help. The next morning it arrives in the form of a little blue bear and his name is Chester Blue.

What follows is a story of how one little bear changes the lives of the people who need him the most. And he does this by simply showing up with suitcase in hand and being himself. However, there is something really important inside that suitcase. Nothing elaborate, just a needl...more

A nearly perfectly written story! There were a couple of
typing errors and the failure to say how Chester got into
a strange barn. It also wasn't clear as to when the Hillies
moved in the first place. However, these are all minor
problems in comparison to the overall story.
Many individuals in this day and age miss enjoying many
simple pleasures of days gone by such as enjoying the
wonders of the universe, of or planet and God's creations.
When did parents cease to encourage children to lay and watch

A friend won this in a Goodreads giveaway and thought I might like to read it because I have collected stuffed bears all my life. I love the woman so I am going to forgive her for giving me this silly, sappy piece of trash. I had hoped that the bear would redeem the book somehow and it is such a short book and certainly no intellectual challenge so I zipped through it.

This is just perfect for gullible Christians. Made for them, in fact. There is a lady with a teddy bear store that is not doing...more

"... some people gave up on their wishes and dreams because they'd been disappointed too many times in life and just didn't have the courage to keep hoping things would change."

Believe in Your Dreams. That's the message I took away from this book and one that should be shared. I thoroughly enjoyed reading God Loves You, Chester Blue - an encouraging book of short stories, all connected by this little blue bear who brings hope and love wherever he goes. I especially enjoyed the story about the t...more

A Touching Story!

The author takes this little blue bear named Chester Blue and sends him on a mission to those in need. Chester Blue brings a message from God with him. Chester Blue also comes with a little suitcase. What is in that little suitcase? You must read this book to find out!

I don’t know how anyone can read this book without feeling blessed. Chester Blue shows up where he is needed most. He comforts those who need comforting. He directs those who have lost their way. He brings families...more

This is one of those books that offers you escape from the noise around you. The story telling is smooth and just as Chester travels from one place to another making things better, he would have done the same for you. You may or you may not have an 'aha' moment but you will finish the book, enchanted by this blue cuddly miracle.

In a gentle tone, Suzanne relates the story of this travelling blue bear. Of course, some cynics will point out the unrealistic concept of such a thing but again, escape...more

The beginning of the book emphasizes how many
of the simple enjoyments in this generation are
mostly lost an unappreciated like relaxing outside
to watch stars appear and finding different constellations.
Also, enjoying God's creations and lying back to watch
the clouds move and appear to change into different forms.
Miss Millie was such a person who did these things.
The story begins with Miss Millie's goodness and ends there
too. The bear felt like a blessing - a slight miracle - for
her and when trage...more

God Loves You, Chester Blue, tells the journey of a little blue bear, who finds his way to the hearts of those in need of a gentle reminder of God's love. He arrives first on the doorstep of Miss Millie, who learned the day before that her teddy bear shop would have to close. Oh my goodness, what a delightful story! Cute, cute, cute! A little teddy bear spreading God's love wherever he goes. Have you ever felt sad, then had something very simple happen and it just cheered you up, and you thought "That is just what I needed!" Well that is exactly what Chester Blue does.
He seems to fall into the hands of the people who need him the most. I also love the little twist of having the blue thread in his suitcase and those finding him just happen to need the thread for some...more

God Loves You. - Chester Blue is the sweetest of sweet books. It is saccharine and innocence, optimism and oh golly gee swell. It's a book that warmed my sometimes cynical heart, made me tear up and smile. It's the warmth on a cold day, and the reassurance you need when you've been down and sad. Really, this book was just what I needed tonight.

The book begins with a blue bear named Chester showing up on the doorstep of a woman who sure needs it. He...more

I was fortunate enough to win this as a first-reads giveaway, but I would have gladly bought this book. It was one of the most up lifting and inspiring books that I have read in a long time. Suzanne Anderson is able to remind the readers that no matter what our circumstances are we are loved. She does this with a wonderfully told story.

Chester Blue is a very special stuffed bear. He is a source of understanding, courage, and a family bonding agent. But most importantly a messenger from God. Alt...more

A charming chapter book about the adventures of a teddy bear whose quiet presence is a reminder of a great promise - that there's a Great Heavenly Creator who cares. From the wild west to NYC, this book was lots of fun.

I know a set of eight-year-old twins who would love this as a bedtime read-aloud! The rhythm and flow is very lyrical, while the story moves at a good pace, keeping the interest level high.

As a writer myself, I did find it odd to see from Chester's point of view for Chapter 7 onl...more

This was such an adorable and heartwarming book.

Miss Millie lives in Blossom, Ohio and looks to the sky with a heavy heart. The morning after her prayer to God, she opens the door to a bright blue bear named Chester Blue. She sends Chester to her friend where he really begins his magical journey.

"Sometimes, things that seemed bad, could turn into good."

Children and adults come into contact with Chester and the love he shares. Chester keeps God at the front...more

Chester Blue shows up on Miss Millie's doorstep one day with no return address. She was having a terrible day after finding out her store will have to close. She finds hope with a little note that is tucked into Chester Blue's suit case...a note that says "God Loves You. -Chester Blue." She decides that she will send Chester to someone else that could really use him and includes a little spool of blue thread, just in case. It's such a beautiful tale of just how much a few simple words and faith...more

Very good book about an elderly woman who owns a teddy bear store. she lives in a small town, where everyone is slowly moving away to bigger cities. After the building she has her store at is repossessed by the bank, she is forced to find something else to do. She sends a blue bear, Chester blue to stay with a family of 2 boys whose father travels a lot for work. the boys are constantly fighting and getting into trouble at school. The bear travels around with them and winds up having many advent...more

Chester Blue is a teddy bear with no true special powers. Even so, he manages to touch the lives of all who encounter this lovely blue bear. For each character in the book, times seem tough and then Chester Blue's tag reminds then that God loves them.

The tone of this book is charming and descriptive, however some of the stories in Chester Blue's travels were better than others. Particularly enjoyable was when Chester Blue traveled around the country with the Hilly Family. Occasionally, the narr...more

A journey of miracles, hope, and trust that will stay with you long after.

This story is a chronicle of a special teddy bear, who unwittingly travels with family after family, person after person, and somehow finds all in need. He casts light on peoples' troubles, clearing their vision to see through their despair.

Miss Millie is a sweet elderly woman able to reflect on past blessings, see a void in today, and hope, pray, wish, and dream for a better day. But her small town's hustle and bustle sl...more

God Loves You. -Chester Blue is a sweet story. I loved the message of the book. It reminded me of this quote from Spencer W. Kimball - “God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs". Chester Blue with his little suitcase travels from person to person working his magic to help those in need. A good reminder that one person can make a big difference to a lot of people.

There were some continuity and editing issues. I loved the first ha...more

The timing of it to arrive in my mailbox couldn’t have been more perfect. I received it by mail the day of my Grandmothers memorial service who passed away sometime in August. This book will always have a special place in my heart.

I won this book in a Goodreads First Read Giveaway.

This is a sweet inspirational little book that reminds us how a simple word or message can make a big difference in someone's life. Chester Blue is a blue teddy bear that shows up in people's lives just when they need help. He carries the message 'God loves you' in his little suitcase. His visits inspire people to try something new, restore their lost faith or even bring two people closer together.

Sweet, simplistic and inconsistent. I forced myself to read it all the way through because I did receive it in a give away and felt it was part of the deal.
.
I do see an audience for Chester Blue though - children maybe 5-9 in Christian homes that want a nice bedtime story that teaches bible verses ( I think that's where quotes are from at the beginning of each chapter) and values based on the message that "God loves you", through the travels and presence of a blue teddy bear.

The inconsistencies...more

I loved the book! I've always loved teddy bears. This is a book that I can share with my granchildren a few pages a night before bed. It will teach children, as well as adults, that things happen because God wants them to happen for the good. The Biblical verses are poignant and are easily memorized for children. I can't wait until some of our grandchildren come to spend a night or two! I know they will love the book also!

This is a sweet story about a blue teddy bear. Because of a simple little note that is attached to him, he brings joy, comfort and happiness too many different people young and old.
I had the audio book version of the story, enjoying the speaker throughout. My 3 year old listened with me and enjoyed it, as well

A beautifully book written for the young and old.
I makes you see that in life no matter what problems you have there is someone looking out for you who loves you. That is what helps you to carry on.

I absolutely loved the scenarios in the story and all about 'chester blue' wherever he came from, it also shows that it is by faith that we can have the things we need. God will provide.

I really enjoyed this book. It was such a sweet story that made you think about how something little (like a blue bear) can really be the answer to your prayers. God is there when you really need him and Chester Blue is such a good reminder of that. It's the perfect story to read to my nieces (5 and 6) who are going through the loss of their mother to cancer. I will be reading to this to them so they are reminded just how much God loves them and that, even when it seems like you're alone, God is...more

I received this book as a free giveaway on Goodreads, signed by the author to me no less! I think this would be a great book to read as a family. The stories are very simple and would appeal to elementary age kids. Each chapter begins with a quote from the Bible and the chapter always ends with a reminder that God Loves You.

Well, I'm only giving this a 3 star rating for two reasons. First, the end was a little too sappy. Second, I would have liked better continuity between the adventures of Chester Blue. There are parts of the story where the way he arrives at his destination is left a mystery. It is a wonderful story about how we can be and are all connected. But there were spots when the connection was skipped. Maybe some like their stories with vague patches but I prefer a little more detail and continuity. Ove...more
