One day on twitter I saw a book trailer that rocked my socks. I don’t say this lightly because most book trailers, even those of KMM and Sherrilyn Kenyon, are crap. There are very few that (to me) do the job. This one got the job done.
That day I posted the link here and saw that it was on netgalley.com.

Best of the trilogy, IMHO. Reading the other two first will make the experience of this one even more rich-- I *loved* how the author interwove bits of the previous two books (and their romances) through the simultaneous events in this one-- and it was particularly interesting to see some of those encounters from the opposite perspective.
I will quite freely say that I didn't much like Coleman, coming into this book. In the previous two books he's been kind of a lout-- sometimes with cause, but o...more

Today's selection is Forever a Lord by Delilah Marvelle. I have to say I enjoyed this story. Especially, since we have drawn to the end I believe. It's always hard to see the end.
In the previous books you have seen Edward Coleman, but not really in the forefront. Now we get to learn more about him and the past he wishes to forget. However, that is not always the case and it has a way of sneaking in when you least expect it too.

Dark and gritty seems to be the new trend in historical romances. And let me tell you now, I am totally liking it. While there will always be room for the glittering ballrooms of the ton, it is nice to see authors paying attention to the underbelly of society. Delilah Marvelle does a fabulous job introducing us to a very realistic world in Forever a Lord, Book Three of her Rumors Series.

FOREVER A LORD by Delilah Marvelle is another interesting Regency historical romance. Book 3 in the "Rumor"series. See,"Forever and a Day",and "Forever a Lady". While, this series can be read as a stand alones, each story is told from the hero and/or heroine's perspective. Reading all three gives you a better understanding of the other characters in the previous stories. This title moves much faster than the other two to me. It is filled with passion, desire, secrets, healing, forgiveness, boxing in th...more
Historical romances are my guilty pleasure read. I love the pretty covers. I love envisioning all the pretty dresses. And yet I get tired of the same old same old stories in historical romances. I'm a little tired of Rakes who are Dukes. Gimme something/someone new.
And so I'm given Nathaniel. A boxer. A boxer? *eyebrows rise* Yes. A boxer. A boxing Duke. He's older, he's mature (damn near forty) and he beats guys up on the streets of New York to make a living.
I.

Forever a Lord is the third book in Marvelle’s The Rumor series, which I did not know when I read the book. While there was some mention of characters from previous books (ie. Nathaniel’s nephew and his fiancé) I did not find that this hampered my enjoyment of the book.
Forever a Lord features Lord Nathaniel James Atwood, who was kidnapped as child due to his father’s personal life. After the kidnapping in New York, Nathaniel decided not to return home and instead became a bare-knuckle fighter in...more

Absolutely excellent historical romance! This book is SO sweet. I adored Forever a Lord.
I read the previous book in the series and I really loved it, so I was hoping that the next book would be just as good. Let me tell you, it was even better. The first half of this book is incredibly good. From page one, it grabbed my attention and treated me to a fast-moving, emotionally compelling story. The character development of the major characters (Nathaniel, Imogene, and her brother Weston, in particular) is strong. I loved the idea that both Nathaniel and Imogene were victims of the terrible power of secrets, that power ever stronger when the secret is not one’s own.

I am so not ready to see this series end yet, but I guess all good things must come to an end. I was so happy that Nathaniel got his HEA, I mean each man in this series deserved one, but poor Nathaniel went through so much for a secret that shouldn't have been his to keep for 30 years. Of course everything he went through only strengthened his character and made him a man worth loving with every filber of your being. And thankfully he found someone to do exactly that in Imogene. Even though Imog...more
My favorite of the Rumor series! Nathaniel is a great hero--tortured, complex, and with his heart in the right place--and Imogene is a very relatable heroine. I also had fun learning more about bare knuckle boxing, which I knew nothing about. Once again, Ms. Marvelle treats us to a unique storyline and locations. I love her historicals because she manages to come up with fresh and interesting facets of history to explore.

The more I read from Delilah Marvelle, the more I like her. This third installment in The Rumor series was a hit for me. Mostly because of its brawny, wounded hero, Nathaniel. A British viscount, he was kidnapped at age 10, by a man who was wronged by Nathaniel's father. Unfortunately, dear old dad would not bend to the kidnapper's demands, which left Nathaniel locked in a cellar for five years before being dispatched to the mean streets of New York.

Delilah Marvelle is one of my favorite romance authors, no doubt about that. The reason this isn't a 5-star review is because, though the time spent with the couple was very sweet, there were a few things I had a hard time with.
1. Nathaniel and Imogene only spent about 35%-40% of the book together, working through their relationship. I wished that they could've spent more time together, especially as they had a lot to work out as a couple. While the time spent on Nathaniel's pugilism was very i...more

This banner was made for entertainment purposes only. This is what I thought long lost Viscount Nathaniel Atwood, who grew up boxing to survive, and his sweet, young Imogene looked like.
I received this book by request from NetGalley and have not read the other books in The Rumor Series by Delilah Marvelle.

I'm going to warn you before I start this review, this is about to get a bit gushy. If you've read my reviews for the previous two books in the Rumour series (Forever and a Day, and Forever a Lady), then you'll know that I've been REALLY looking forward to reading Atwood's story. And it didn't disappoint!
So, we start with the delicious Nathaniel, the long-lost Lord Atwood, who returns to London to claim his life back.

This is the third book in The Rumor trilogy. I reviewed the first book Forever and a Day last year and found myself with mixed feelings. Consequently I skipped over the second book but was eager to pick up this third.

This is a heartrending and wonderful story that finishes a dark historical trilogy. I loved this story and was an emotional wreck while reading as it took me through a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Yet another BRILLIANT book by Delilah Marvelle!!!!
Before Delilah Marvelle, I am going to say that I really was never interested in reading books that took place during the Regency time period. Just something about this era never caught my eye, until of course I picked up her book Forever and A Day and began my love affair with all things Delilah Marvelle. The second book, Forever a Lady, cemented my faith and Forever a Lord makes me giddy with excitement.

When I finished reading Forever a Lord by Delilah Marvelle, I was overwhelmed with emotion. How was I to know these characters in the book felt like old friends to me. I was glad when Nathaniel’s story was told. If you remember, we met Nathaniel in the earlier books titled Forever and a Day and Forever a Lady. He was a bare knuckled fighter who made his living in a gang of the forty thieves of New York. He kept his secrets close and his enemies closer. When the time came for him to leave America...more
Forever a Lord, the 3rd book in the Rumor series, is an emotional romance centered around two damaged individuals. Lord Nathaniel Atwood has lived most of his life in New York, where he was kidnapped at ten years old under mysterious circumstances. His father, Lord Sumner, forced the rest of his family back to London after the kidnapping and proclaimed that his son must be dead. Now, thirty years later, Nathaniel has forsaken his aristocratic roots and is keeping some very big secrets. In fact,...more
We finally get the story of what happened to Lord Nathaniel as a child and we get to meet the man he has become. Kidnapped as a child by a man holding a secret of Nathaniel's father, he is taken from London to New York City. Once he is released years later, he doesn't go back to his family (he has a reason), but stays in America and takes on a new identity and boxing. It isn't until his deceased sister's husband and son come looking for him that Nathaniel goes back to London to confront the life...more

Forever a Lord was engrossing and enthralling, with characters that are multi-faceted and larger than life. With this book, Delilah Marvelle brings to a close one of the most intriguing and entertaining romance novel series that I have had the pleasure of reading.

While I enjoyed the main storyline, and loved how the series was wrapped up (especially in regards to Nathaniel's childhood disappearance), I was a bit put off by how bold the heroine was, considering both the time period, her rank, and her "condition".
An enjoyable read, to be sure, but sadly not really a favorite.
