Tatum Throne has created a very interesting character in Sam. She is somehow fragile, yet strong, determined, yet flighty, all wrapped up in one woman. Austin is a little harder to get a grip on because the novella follows Sam's thought processes, but he does come across as being strong and determined when he wants something. Samantha has been through an ordeal which has left her visibly broken. So when a gorgeous guy, Austin, asks her to dance, and more, she doesn't really think anything could develop of it beyond a hot one-night stand.
