What do the wonderful myths of ancient Greece, the beautiful stories in the Bible and Qur’an, and all the sacred stories from traditions around the world, have in common? They open our hearts to wonder, mystery, passion, and joy.

I know, on the outside these stories seem very different, confusing, conflicting, and often violent and divisive. But when read symbolically and

First I need to thank Goodreads and Andrew Cort for allowing me to enter and win The Door is Open in a giveaway.

The Door is Open is a book that I could take to heart. The book teaches us how to attain happiness from within our own soul. The world is full of cluttering noise that our minds absorb daily. Our thoughts and judgements are skewed by all of this noise around us.

Mr. Cort takes us on a journey through seven steps to help us enlighten our inner self/soul. The book has many examples of scr...more

I don't usually read Christian focused books. There's a lot of reasons for it, but for me, it's just not something I tend to get excited about, especially non-fiction, which has the potential to get really preachy, really fast. But I do love a good Bible Study (Yeah Jesus), especially one that digs deep into our understanding of human spirituality.

So when Vickie from Innovative Book Tours contacted me about reviewing this book I wasn't quite sure. I've been burned before. I may be pro-Jesus, but...more

A book about Revelations...

Andrew Cort’s, The Door is Open, is a book about Revelations. Cort says that all of mankind is born with the innate ability to recognize that there is more to our lives than planet Earth. After exploring all of the various faiths including those of ancient Greece and Rome, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle; Cort reveals that each of the religions or faiths come to the same conclusion--the soul, the mind, and the heart of a human being does an intricate dance with one ano...more

I like to read at least one self improvement book a month, and after finishing “The Power of Now”, I looked on Amazon and came across this book. Having known nothing about the Author before, I figured what the heck, the price is good.

Although I’m not going to say that by reading this book your life will instantly change, I don’t believe that kind of thing will happen by reading a few pages. However, when reading this book I was hit quite a few, “ahh moments” where I had to set down the book for...more

Although mostly based on bible stories with random sections of Greece Mythology this spiritual awakening book is a very powerful self help book. Each section builds on the previous as many other good step self help books do. And this one provides some helpful exercises and activities to practice at the end of each step or chapter.

It helps to not only show but also remind us of what is truly important in life and how we can neither be reckless but neither be sheltered. If you are open enough to...more

Nonfiction books can be absolutely fascinating, although I have noticed that nonfiction book reviews don't seem to get as many comments as those dedicated to fiction books. I would love to post more nonfiction reviews in spite of this. They are, after all, as necessary to my reading diet as books about supernatural creatures, or exciting adventures in fantasy lands and outer space.

Andrew Cort's The Door Is Open grabbed my attention as soon as Innovative Online Book Tours notified me about it. I...more

I really like The Door IS Open.Andrew shows us how the different faith traditions have so much similiarities in helping people who are on the journey of self discovery. I love his quotes from great mystics of our past. Andrew gives us a process to follow that will help the reader actualize the awakening of the spiritual dimension in our midst.
If you enjoy expanding you knowledge and concepts of sprirituality ,you will enjoy this book.
Blessings
