New Orleans
by
Cat Johnson (Goodreads Author)
When I agreed to be my best friend’s maid of honor, I thought it would be fun. Maybe I’d even meet a nice, single guy at the reception. But now the bride is missing, I have the hang over from hell and it seems I may have accidentally had sex with the groom last night while pretending to be a stripper to spy on him at his bachelor party… Or maybe I didn’t.

New Orleans is a fun quick read from Cat Johnson!! I LOVED it!! As a Louisiana girl I know that what the fudge happened last night feeling that you often times wake up to after a night of partying in New Orleans.
Rose hopes to be a great maid of honor to her best friend, Beth, but the night of the bachelorette party may just ruin her chance. Rose wakes up the next morning with no memory of how she got back to the hotel room, and then is shocked to see the g...more

This was really cute! We start off the story with Rose waking up to the monster of all hangovers, and not really being able to piece the night before together. She remembers her friends talked her into going to her best friend's fiancee's bachelor party to be the stripper they ordered. To try to see if the fiancee was an asshole. The morning after, what she thinks is the fiancee comes into the room, sits down on her bed, and kisses her. WTF? What has she done?!

This book was featured on a blog that I read, and the excerpt hooked me. So I immediately went out and bought it, and read it when I should have been trying to sleep. It was a quick, enjoyable read; the premise was a bit over the top, and the characters weren't given a ton of time to be fleshed out, but overall I liked it.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but release...more
