I really loved this book. Of all Kailin's books I have read thus far, Never Say Never has been my favorite. I mean who wouldn't love hot rock stars and great romance. I really liked Neve. She was the daughter of the famous rocker Keith Knight, but was determined to do things on her own and not ride her dad's coat tails. She also had a really good relationship with her father and mother, even though her dad wasn't to keen on her entering into the world of rock and roll. After all, he'd been there and done that, and he knows what goes on. I liked the guys in the band. Kyle is her best friend and has grown up with Never. He's a little to overpossessive and overprotective, but has a good heart. Luc is quite the hottie also, and he would like to be more than friends with Neve, and Steve, well he's just good old Steve. Needless to say, none of the guys has any problem having plenty of girls falling at their feet. Danny Blue, well he is the kind of guy dreams are made of. This story is a really great contemporary romance and I absolutely loved the rock and roll theme. The characters are great, the story line is fast paced and entertaining, and the romance is smoking hot. If you love contemporary romance and rock-and-roll, then Never Say Never is a book you will definitely want to add to your to be read list. Kailin Gow has yet again written another wonderful story.

Okay, so I love music and definitely books that have a music theme plot to it. Add in a little romance and that makes the reading all the more superb. But when Kailin Gow writes the story it is amazing.
I truly enjoyed reading this story. Never is a girl who is strong. She knows what she wants and isn't going to let anything get in the way of her goals. She's got talent to back her up. Kailin has created another wonderful book with great characters. The story flowed very naturally and I find myself being absorbed into the book. It was definitely a page turner for me as I kept wanting to find out what will happen to Neve, the daughter of a rock star father. However, she never once tried to use her dad's name to bring her band to fame and I truly admire her determination. I love this punk rock cover! Everything about it screams Never Knight, from her red hot heels to her deadly black nails and of course her sexy guitar. I absolutely adore this cover.

First Thought-
Who doesn't want to read about a teenage rebel trying to become famous but avoid love? Go for him Neve!

What I liked-

First Thought-

What I liked-
Kailin Gow is genius. All her books are amazing and yet so different. Circus Summer is her dystopian. Never Say Never is her contemporary romance. And Frost is her paranormal series. She could write about anything! After finishing the shocking ending of Never Say Never I did some research on Kailin Gow's books. I seriously must read more of her writing. I don't believe she could write a single uninteresting book. Never Say Never is on my favorites list now and that is really hard to believe because usually only paranormal fantasies on my favorites list. First off the beginning, She describes the music The Never Knights are playing. One line that really caught my attention is, "The music is pulsing; I can feel it around me in waves, feel my body twisting and turning as my voice echoes through the microphone, refracting like shattered glass through the room." Every line of the beginning is attention grabbing that there was no way I could put it down. Then I read on, what got me the most was Neve didn't want to use her dad's celebrity status to further her own. She could become downright famous if she had just used her dads name in everything! Although her dad did not approve of her becoming a punk rock legend like himself she still kept on going. My favorite part of the whole book was when Danny Blue walked in for their band audition and changed their band forever. Of course Neve can't help the churning emotions inside her and she simply can not stop feeling what she does for the newest band member. But could this crush split her band apart forever before she even gets the recording contract she has dreamed of? The ending really surprised me but I can't ruin the whole book for you. I will just say that Danny Blue is the definition of sexy in the punk rock dictionary.

What I disliked-
How could I possibly find something that bothered me in this fantastic book? It might not be one I'm used too. I haven't read a lot of New Adult novels but this book has got me interested in this genre. One thing, only one thing has me disappointed how does Neve make every performance perfect? If she is completely emotionally unstable then maybe a performance should be unstable too? I just felt like one super awful performance should happen to spice up the series a little. Really Never say Never has everything I could want in a book.

Overall Readability-
Punk rock legends, sexy guitar players, wild party nights, big famous dreams, all in one awesome book. This is totally not one I will forget. Every time I turn on my i-pod I think Neve and The Never Knights and how I wish I had their CD. It's inspiring really, I wish I had the talents that they do. I finishing Never Say Never is one night and was sadly disappointed I have to wait awhile for the second book to be released. If you want to change up what you usually read or you like contemporary romance with a kick I dare you to read this book. I promise you won't regret it.

My Final Thought-
NO! He can not come back! Now the band will probably suck. :(

This is the second book I’ve read by Kailin Gow, and she is quickly rising in my list of authors I want to read more from. Both books I’ve read (this one and Circus Summer) have a nice easy flow to the writing. I really appreciate that in a story.

First Thoughts:
When this book tour came along, it caught my interest simply because it was different. There is absolutely no paranormal theme going on. It is a romance plain and simple… but it was an older YA romance so it touches on the ‘sticky’ side of things. The Main Character:
Never ‘Neve’ Knight… she is awesome! Sure she is a celebrities daughter, but she doesn’t act like it, she is very down to earth. She wants to make a name of herself BY herself… but just off of her parents back which was really awesome.
She is also super talented, she is the lead singer in her band of boys as well as the band manager. She also goes to collage. The best thing about Neve is that she was always trying to hide who her parents were… or more specifically who her dad was. She didn’t want a free ride, whatever she got she wanted to get on her own.
Love is in the Air:
Wow where to start with this one….
Kyle… he was ok, I don’t think he really liked Neve though, I think it was more a comfort thing… he definetly did not have an easy childhood and as he says in the book, everyone he loves leaves… so he has some serious issues he has to deal with but I never thought he was a good match for Neve.
Luc… he was actually my favorite, the one I was rooting for. I don’t know why but everytime he was with Neve he just seemed perfect, and when I say perfect I mean perfect for Neve not just perfect in every other way that he was.
Danny… and then there was one, Danny was ok, as I said I was rooting for Luc, but Danny was still pretty awesome and I guess he really was a the best fit for Neve because he knew what her life was like as he came from something similar. But he still totally has a lot of issues to deal with and I hope they don’t bring Neve down when he starts his journey.
Ending:
I was actually really impressed with the ending. The main plot throughout the book was closed, but it also left the door open for so much more. If I didn’t know that this book was the first in a series I would have been happy with the ending, it was left open enough that the author was able to either finish it as a single book, or continue it as a series. I think that was one of the best things because of course I want to read more… but if there wasn’t another book I would have still been very happy with just the one
Final Thoughts:
Although this book is a romance and not my typical genre, I was very impressed and I will be keeping my eye out for the next book.
This is the second book I have been able to read by Kailin Gow, and both times the books have been out of my general genre preference, and both times I am been sucked into the books and ended up absolutely loving them!

The boys in the band are just as amazing as Never is, too. Luke, Kyle, and Steve are a bit different, which gives them unique appeal of their own and lends depth to the band and story itself. The difference in their personalities, style, and friendship are what makes the band's dymanic such an enjoyable reading experience. Everyone gets their time to shine in Never Say Never and that's pretty amazing because it lends so much personality to the book itself.

The romance just sizzles and pops to life off the pages. It's ridiculously forbidden and sweet hot fun. The chemistry between Danny Blue and Never is electric and it's so much fun to witness the awkward tension between two of them. The feelings that Never is experiencing are all new to her and she can't decide whether to break her cardinal rule of not dating anyone in the band or just go for it with all she has. It's fascinating to watch her navigate through her own personal feelings. Yet here is the one guy who has literally tilted her whole world on its axis and has her practically dangling by a thread. So, what is a girl to do?

The character's are wonderfully entertaining, the storyline is engaging and highly addicting, and the realism is sure to draw reader's like a magnet. Kailin Gow spares no expense in showing off just how amazing her writing chops are with this new mature young adult romance hot off the presses! For those who want a sizzling romance that burns hotter than most, this is the book for you.(less)

Now that they're all off to college together they play gigs when they can and attend classes most days - until their dreams nearly come true one night when a scout approaches them with the possibility of a deal with a record label. But it all comes quickly crashing down when a band member makes an untimely exit and it seems like all their hard work was for naught....until the very talented Danny Blue shows up...

Gow has Neve address the shadier side of being a rock star, like the drugs, alcohol and groupie one night stands. These things can become overpowering and often leads to the downfall of a lot of bands. But I loved that Neve was this perfect balance of fun and serious. She knows when to let loose, but she has this rigid determination to achieve a goal she's dedicated her life to. Neve's never given much thought to pursuing relationships, especially when she's surrounded by her all boy band mates who seem more like brothers than potential love interests. So she's made it her number 1 rule to never date any of her band members...but rules are made to be broken.

Kyle, Luc and Geoff all have it hard for Neve. Each vying and competing for her attention and each one approaching it differently. Sometimes it got very awkward and when I got to know these guys I squirmed right along with Neve. They've all been 'friendzoned' and Neve tries to do it as tactfully as possible but it's all bound to come crumbling down. I'm glad that at least one band member - Steve - seemed like he was genuinely not interested in Neve and he provided a great go-between and a voice of reason.

Oh Danny boy...I have a thing for British accented guitarists. They will always bring me back to James Marsters as Spike from Buffy the Vampire slayer *sigh*. Danny is someone that Neve can easily relate to. They both love music, he has the mental maturity that Neve needs but he's also got the whole tortured musician going for him too. Danny's back story was just constantly evolving the plot of the main story and it all pulled together perfectly - the boy's got some serious secrets!

Neve and Danny's romance starts out cute and innocent and quickly gets HOT. They fight the attraction to each other for the sake of the band and it just builds up the sexual tension until it finally explodes. The sex scenes are steamy but not over the top or particularly graphic. They enhanced the romance and play a pivotal role to Neve's development.

Gow's style is casual and upbeat, which makes it a super enjoyable and quick read. The character's each have a distinct voice and there's some hilarious moments of innuendo and wit. The plot of the story is pretty predictable but the way it was presented still made it engaging so that I was interested in seeing it to the end - which by the way was a doozie of an ending!! I was pretty much screaming NOOOOO at the end because I was so invested in the characters by that point - now I have to wait for the next book to see how this is going to play out...

Gow takes a reader on an exhilarating journey of love, friendship that proves that passion can drive you both on stage and off! (less)

Because Gow’s writing was simple and not bogged with unnecessary description, this was a very quick, and dirty read. One I found myself not able to put down very much.
I liked all the characters because Gow did a very good job making all of them distinguishable. Even though the dialogue was so melodramatic at times, I believed these people were in college. A lot of writers I have read lately seem to forget the difference in mindset between someone attending high school and college. Having the ability to do things on your own without a parent’s watchful eye makes a huge difference in how one perceives things. Our mistakes suddenly become our burdens. All the characters reacted accordingly.
I thought it was a little weird for all of Never’s boy band dudes to be gorgeous, in love with her, and she be totally not interested at all. Not even a minor crush. But soon as Danny walks in the room, she’s hot with fever. Although Danny seemed interesting enough, he would not have made my list of top ten to date. He did grow on me, but I’m team Kyle. And why not? He’s gorgeous, in love with Never, has known her forever, he can make connections with her mentally Danny can only hope to do because he barely knows her.
Truth be told there are questions I still had by the end of the book. The abrupt ending left me thinking, “Well that was mean. Where’s the rest?” It could have been done smoother. It did not feel like a close, even though I knew another book was going to be written.
At the end of the day, I really enjoyed the book. College students and young adult readers will enjoy this story most. Get it Miss. Gow, you’re on your way to defining a generation.

Luc, Kyle and Danny are the three main guys in Never Say Never. The only problem I really had with the book was that everyone seemed to like Never. I have noticed a pattern of every guy in sight having a thing for the main girl in a story lately. I did like that one of the band members did not seem to be romantically interested in Neve. That was refreshing, but having four (we can't forget Geoff) guys fight over her seemed a bit much to me. But each of the guys were different and the real story here was between Neve and Danny.

I loved Neve and I liked Danny. I just couldn't bring myself to fall in love with him in this book. I did like him quite a bit more towards the end and I am super interested in seeing how he is in the next book. But I kind of like Luc the best. He has this polite reserved style that I thought was just adorable. He is a lot less of a hothead than kyle is- that's for sure. I hope good things are to come for Luc in the next book.

Never say never is well written, and a really cool story. I loved seeing the journey of the band and watching Never deal with some of the trials and tribulations of growing up. I hope the band can hold it all together, but I am sure that with the return of Geoff things are bound to get rocky. Plus I see Kyle as a bit of a wild card. If you are looking for a whirlwind rock and roll romance, Never Say Never would be a great book for you! (less)

Neve is daughter of a famous model and former rockstar father. She could have everything in life handed to her, but that's not what she wants. Her father is also pretty against her being in a rock band since he has been part of that life and knows the ups and downs of it. She is determined to do things on her own. She wants a normal college experience, but also wants to have a serious band because people like them, not because of who she is. I love how hard she fights for this. She is smart and really has herself together pretty well. She will do anything to ensure the success of the band and that includes no dating. Shouldn't be hard since they have all known each other forever right? Nope! Wrong. She is now eighteen and the guys no longer see her as a little sister. Also in walks Danny who is swoon-tastic!! She can't seem to keep her head together when it comes to him.

All the band members are great. The only one I didn't really care much for was Geoff, but guess who his replacement is. Oh yes, Danny! Luc, Kyle, and Steve are all quite different. I loved that dynamic. They are all great friends, in a band together, but have much different personalities which makes this book so much more enjoyable. Everyone stands out in their own way. It's not just focused on the main characters.

The romance aspect is fantastic. It's like a forbidden romance for Neve. Should she give into her desires and risk everything, or stick to her solid rule of no dating band members. These desires and feelings she is having for Danny are all new to her. She has never really dated before because she doesn't spend time with people outside of the band. More then the fact that Danny is the newest band member, he is also the TA in one of her classes. Oh and the chemistry between them is sizzling!!

This book was quick and entertaining. I loved getting lost in the bands drama's and triumphs. You get to see friendships tested, and choices made between what is right and wrong for everyone. Neve is like the glue for the band, so when she starts unsticking will the band be able to keep it together. Music, suspense, and some steam up the windows scenes make this a wonderful book for lovers of Mature YA/New Adult books.(less)

Neve and her band avoids using any connection to Keith Knight, just so they can make it on their own, and not on the coattails of Never’s father.

Never Knight is an incredibly independent character striving to make it big and lead a normal life, without the spotlight of her father’s fame shining on her. Neve is also very strong having to do everything on her own, and still trying to have the normal college experiences. But then Danny Blue joins the band and sets her world on fire. I like the growth Neve takes throughout the story, with some help from Danny Blue. She has to be careful though, because her desires could end up tearing the band apart. Danny Blue is older and more mature, and I think that reflex in the way Never starts to change when around him, and because of his influence.

I have to say I really enjoyed the whole story, specifically how the band functions. Also, I like getting a sense of the individual relationships within the band. I also like see how they were formed and how the change over time and throughout the story. I also think that the double standard in relationships and sexual behavior between men and women are also brought to light throughout the story, and I really like how the author chose to handle it. That being said, this book is a New Adult book, meaning it is not for younger teens, but an older teen audience at least 16 years of age or up.

This story was a fun quick read, and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the second book in The Never Knights series, and cannot wait to devour that one too! I think Kailin Gow has done a fantastic job exploring her characters and developing them into characters readers fall in love with.

Funny, musical, crafty, and rock out entertaining. Kailin Gow delivers a fantastic new age treat for lovers of contemporary romance with an edge.

This is the second Kailin Gow book that I've devoured and once more I'm taken aback by the fast paced witty writing style, as well as the addicting story being unfolded. I enjoyed the idea of music being the centerfold of everything (I can't stress enough of my love for music in novels), and how intrigued the main character kept me.

I really enjoy the concept of the book, it is very different from what I normally read. When I first saw it in the blog tour, I knew I had to try it out.

First let's begin with how I really liked how everything started rolling from the first chapter. A lot of the characters were introduced without sounding amateur. First let's begin with how I really liked how everything started rolling from the first chapter. A lot of the characters were introduced without sounding amateur. You know some books just straight out say "I am blah blah, age blah, gender blah, in love with blah, have superpower blah." This book didn't but it still maintained the fast pace. When the story just began it felt like I was at one of the concert (sure I never been to a concert in my life but I guess that was what it felt liked). It was really easy to be transported into the world Kailin created. It really felt like the words and music notes wrapped me up and dissolved me into the book; it was a thrilling ride.

I immediately took a liking to Neve; she wasn't like any girl I had ever read. It was easy for Neve and the boys to joke and have fun. It really felt like they were buddies. She was a badass too. Can we take a moment and appreciate Neve? She basically managed with these dudes and held the band together. She was ambitious, and driven, but not in a stupid way. Some female character are ambitious in a stupid way, you know what I mean? You don't? Well some female leads appear like they are some god who can just walk into a room full of gunmen and take everyone down. I don't care if you are Black Widow or Cat Woman or Wonder Woman, don't be stupid. Neve was smart. Sure she had feelings for some dudes but she kept it under control. She was smart and efficient. She was also the daughter of a rock star. If I was a daughter of a rock star I would be lying around all day going on the internet all day (not saying I am not already). She never took advantage of her dad' status.

Steve was like your Neville of Never Say Never (at least the movie version where he is now GORGEOUS!). Geoff was your annoying douchebag of the bunch; he was the guy that thought he was all high and mighty (yes I wanted to punch him). Luc seemed like the super awesome dude that ladies love and wanted a little more with Neve. Kyle, soft, gentle and knowing type of dude. He was protective type especially toward Neve. He also had a tough childhood. I really liked that, it provided so much more character to him.

And oh helllooooo Danny Blue. British accent, check. Jet black hair, check. Piercing blue eyes, check. Ladies, are you in love already? Oh and did I forget to mention that he was mysterious too? When he was first mentioned I was doubtful of him. I was thinking "oh no, not another gorgeous dude again." BUT! Oh Ashley *hits self*, why did I doubt him? Danny was the whole package. He was kind and mature, dark, and mysterious. Trust me, I wanted to know everything about him. I wanted to know his past, his present, and his future. Whoa, I am turning into a crazy stalker? (Yes I am.) But seriously guys, he was normal (and by normal I mean in a he-actually-sounded-like-a-real-person kind of way). Maybe this was my hopeless dreaming talking but he really felt realistic. Sure he was described as toned and gorgeous, but the actions he did made him sound like a human being. I probably don't make any sense right now. Blame my fangirl mind. Oh, did I forget to mention he is a TA? Hello university! (If you don't know, I am starting university in next week). If I had a TA like that...(I'll leave your imagination here).

Furthermore, I just love the forbidden love thing. There was just something in the writing I loved. I don't know how to describe it. Maybe I had been watching quite a lot of anime with forbidden love recently or maybe it is something else but wow, I want more! The pace of the book was fast but to me I liked it. I never liked a draggy book. This book was able to provide enough details and thoughts but at the same time not introducing a lot of unnecessary fluff.

This book is a must read! I never read anything like this. PLEASE! I WANT THE SECOND BOOK RIGHT NOW, LIKE NOW! Have I just encountered my favourite read of 2012 so far? Yes I have my friends.

Okay, so I didn't exactly finish the book, but I got at least half way through. There were a lot of reasons I didn't like this book, but it wasn't terrible either.
I didn't like Neve Knight for several different reasons. One she sounds like a freshman in high school even though she's a freshman in college. She sounds so innocent sometimes even though everyone thinks she's so hard core. (view spoiler)...more

I was pretty hesitant when I first started reading Never Say Never. I'm not into girl bands at all, but I really enjoyed Loving Summer by Gow and I love this cover, so I decided to give it a chance. By the second chapter I was completely into it.

To be honest, when I started this book I knew that I was going to love it. The atmosphere got to me immediately, and the idea of band that's fronted by a girl was just too much. There was absolutely, positively, no way that I wasn't going to like this.

I found the dynamics of the band to be good, and that I could imagine all of these things happening, as opposed to "other" books where you just can't see it happening. There was a few moments where I didn't understand it. For one, how many bands do you know of that every boy (except one) in the band has fallen in love with the girl lead? How many? Doesn't it seem improbable?

Yes, it does. But it was written out to be different than that, to a point. I found it to be believable, but I thought four people falling in love with her in one book was a little much. It didn't kill the story, but it was a little much.

Never was a terrific character. She was strong, and independent, and she wasn't afraid to go after exactly what she wanted. She wanted to be a star, without living off Daddy's name, and his money. I admire that in her, and I understand her reasons. Who wants to live their life, being supported by their dad? It seems like it would get old.

The other characters definitely had their moments too. Kyle and Danny especially. Danny and Kyle both seem pretty intense to me though.

This book was controversial, heartbreaking, a bit sexy, and most of all, it communicated exactly what Miss Kailin wanted it to: Your body is a temple, treat it likewise.

Neve is a little naive and childish and she sounds like a 12-year-old. The writing isn't all that fabulous and everything they say, they say at least twice. It's weird.
Also, it's rather cliché and the things the boys say and do are so not real. Guys can be sweet and al that, but sometimes they really sound slike wimps. Conversation is forced. And they practically live in the past. "Remember this?"

LOVED this story. Music,love,heartbreak and so much! A girl has so many choices but in this story the girl named Neve has alot more then normal. I have only read one previous work from Kailin Gow. I read Saving You, Saving Me, which I really enjoyed, but Never Say Never I loved :3

I really liked Neve as a character, and I could also imagine that her music and voice were like the ones from the band The Pretty Reckless - I love that band. Never Say Never is a inventive and inspiring story. I thoroughly enjoyed this young driven female. Never is no stranger to fame; being the daughter of a legendary retired singer it would be easy for her to use his limelight as a direct access to her dreams. Wow is the only thing I can say about this book. I read a few other of her books so I knew I hate to read this book. I was not disappointed. Family, friendship, sex, music, this book has it all.
