The last thing Adria expects to find when she arrives at her vacation rental is a man in her front yard—unconscious and stark naked. But something else sets him apart from most strangers. He is no ordinary man. Toren is new to Earth, framed for a crime he didn’t commit and banished to this planet to serve his sentence. He’s desperate to return to his planet, because the ma...more

The idea that the hero needed to get home to his world in order to bring justice to his sister's killer, but would forget more and more of his life there and his purpose the longer he remained on Earth was an interesting premise but the execution...

I really like Butcher's Sentinel War series, but this standalone alien romance just didn't click with me for some reason - I guess I just never fell for the leading man. I think that if there had been a better reason for the hero to make it home befor...more

I like Ms. Butchers paranormal series and this short story, but I am starting to think that $2.99 is too much for stories not even 92 pages long. Especially since the actual story was only 73. The rest of the 91 pages were chapters from the next two books in both of her series.. I don't think I will be so quick to pay the price again. It is a pity I have already bought the other one.. Oh well, lesson learned the hard way.

This novella was not up to Shannon Butcher's usual standards, at least not in terms of her longer fiction, and it has almost convinced me to just stick with her regular fiction.

The premise is that Earth is a magic-free prison for an alien race. The longer the prisoners are here, the less they remember/resemble their own species. Toren witnessed the death of his sister by her husband, and that husband opened a portal, sending him to earth before he could do anything about it.

He arrives, Superman...more

This was a short, sweet ebook about alien Toren who is thrown out of his own evil world onto our own. The problem is, the minute that he lands on earth he starts to forget his own. He also starts to lose his powers. Adria has finally forced herself to take a vacation from her demanding job. Of course finding a big crater in front of the cabin wasn't quite on her agenda. The huge light blue alien with the purple eyes and sentient hair at the bottom of the pit wasn't quite what she had in mind for...more

The entire premise is preposterous of course; an alien cast from his planet and landing on Earth, naked in a crater his fall created. But the part I found really ridiculous was that Adria felled into bed with a blue-skinned creature from another planet within hours of meeting him, lol! I mean c'mon, wouldn't a normal person run screaming at the very idea of aliens? And perhaps check themselves into a mental hospital? Nope Adria and her blue man promptly fall in love, and she sets out to help him...more

Very cute sci-fi short story about an alien banished to earth as punishment for a crime he didn't commit and his struggle to get back home. My only complaint is that the ending seemed very rushed. This was my first read from Shannon K. Butcher but I'll definitely be picking up some of her other books.

This is not part of the Sentinel War series so be warned. This is a love story that was way too sappy for my taste. Found myself rolling my eyes on more than one occassion. Also be warned that it is very short.

I thought the concept of this one was interesting, but very predictable. I liked how Adria did her best to help Toren remember and was willing to give him up so that he could go home.

Interesting new world and a hot romance. My only complaint (and I say this about almost every novella I read, so take it with a grain of salt) is that it felt too short.

Since launching her career in 2007, award-winning author Shannon K. Butcher has penned more than eighteen titles, including the paranormal romance series, the Sentinel Wars; the action-romance series, the Edge; and a handful of romantic suspense novels and works of short fiction.
