Wow, this book is HUGE! Pierce is opinionated and has lots to say, so there is no way a short Dubious Disciple review could touch on every topic he covers. It was a roller coaster ride; oddly, I usually either strongly agreed or strongly disagreed with each topic. Yet the writing was too captivating to merely skim.

Another Step Forward for the Evangelical Mind
Posted on June 20, 2013 Written by Dave Greiser

As stated in other reviews, this book is quite lengthy and I have to admit that I'm not all the way through it yet, but I have loved what I have read so far. As soon as I saw this book, I knew I wanted to read it and I was beyond delighted when I received it in the Goodreads giveaway.

This is the kind of book I take a highlighter to (yes, I'm a total nerd like that). I really feel like I fail when it comes to Bible reading because I know there is so much more there that I am not seeing. I think t

My wife is reading this book. It's quite lengthy so I thought I'd post a review of her impressions so far. She's really been poring over it since its arrival. She's always had an interest in the intersection between Beliefs and Religion and this books takes a 'back to the roots' approach by analyzing the Book of Genesis. The book delves deeper into how people want to just take the Bible at face value literally. The book explores the metaphors and symbolism inherent in Genesis. Like I wrote, it's ...more
