This is a short and sweet romance about the reunion of two friends after twelve years. Wyatt is the son of the Malone's that own the Open Range Saloon in Roundup, Montana. Estranged from his family since taking the blame for a car accident when he was eighteen, he's only back because he received an invitation to his parents 35th Wedding Anniversary. Naturally he thinks his family is extending an olive branch but one meeting with his father tells him it just ain't so.

Then there is Paige St. John....more

The issue with novellas or short stories is that they attempt to cram far too much into a few pages and because of this the story often feels rushed. Not only that but there is also a sense that somethings are missing in the story, be it that they were skipped in order to keep the story short or the author just didn't feel like adding them, which usually results in unanswered questions and unhappy readers.

This book was no exception to that. I had such a hard time connecting with the main charact...more

Wyatt Malone is back in town after twelve years absence. He left his middle of nowhere little town of Roundup, Montana when he graduated high school and never looked back. A few calls to his mother a year and a couple to his brother Jay. He never forgot his best friend Paige St. John and she never forgot him either. He has come home to bring the truth out so that he can rebuild his family relationship again.

2 stars, but a Kindle freebie so I can't really complain.

You know how you often want to scream at characters to just have a conversation already and all their problems will be solved? Well, this book shows what happens when they do--it's BORING.
In actuality, this story was ill-served by being compressed into 56 pages. It seems the author has some talent but just tried to cram too much story into too little space, a common problem with novellas.

Started out very promising, lots of conflicts, lots of past. But I felt the ending was rather rushed. It seemed too easy. People holding a grudge for many years, do not suddenly change their minds. I was expecting them to put up more of a fight. Also, the main characters fell in love with each other rather fast. Interesting storyline, but too easily solved. Disappointing ending.

Demonstrates fascination approach toward family reconciliation being a natural life's process leading to variety of experiences determining certain positions, such as positions of characters in this short ebook story.

At first, hadn't quite known how to feel because this general reconcile situation within this story is uncomfortably intense. Although, proofing confidence and motivation to be useful; Family and friends shall constantly remain close and be at all great standards "for better or wor...more

It was a sweet and adorable book about two friends reuniting and finding the always love relationship thyself towards each other. However, I agree the ending was rushed I believe there was too much of past that could have come out. Like more on the accident and stuff. Oh well. Good book and fast read.

I think this was a very good book about a cowboy and his mom and dad Wyatt loved Paige and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and her son Seth. He also wanted a relationship with his dad and be a happy family loving each other because we all need to learn to respect and love each other.

This is a short story. It only took me a few hours to read.

Although it was short, I didn't feel the storyline overly rushed as happens sometimes. I do think there could have been more to the story added onto the end, but other than that, it was a truly enjoyable read.

This was a fun read. Cathy weaves a great story. The characters were real and the plot kept your interest. I will defnately read more from this author. I am looking forward to reading more about these characters in the rest of the series.

Yeah the book wasn't good at all, it was rushed and there was too many loose ends. Even though it is apparently part of a series, I didn't like it at all. The end was so abrupt it was like diving over a cliff without a parachute. Not good.

This is the first book I read by this author. I love how Paige used Wyatt parents anniversary party to make him come back to town. I love how Wyatt made amends with his father & brother. I would read more books by this author.

A short, sweet contemporary western romance. The charters were well developed, especially considering the length of the work. There was nice romantic tension and good chemistry. It was tame, never progressing beyond kissing.

This was a cute little story about two friends that finally get together after 12 years of being apart. I wish it could of been longer, only 56 pages. It was a nice change of pace for me. I enjoyed reading this one.

pretty good book, wish it was longer. Wyatt returns home after 12 years of running, only to try and run again after he doesn't get his way only to be stopped and some sense knocked into him.

For a novella it was good. Honestly....didn't realize it was a novella. ...so that sucked. Guess I should have paid better attention.

An enjoyable short cowboy tale that bodes well for the coming series. I would like to see what the author does in a longer format.

I liked it. I really wish there would have been more to this. But sometimes I forget the length of the book I'm reading. Would recommend it to a friend. Short and sweet.

Oh my, this is the real deal when it comes to romance books. Because that is all you will get, a really sweet romance where no one does the nasty. And it's nice to read a book like this for a change.

I loved Wyatt, he made me tear up a few times. And I loved that Paige, even years later, finally got her man.

It's a feel-good story, something to enjoy when you need a little bit of quiet or are feeling a little blue.
