This is a cute “just getting started” story with a lot of local colour. Jackson’s grandparents came from Scotland decades ago and he’s thrilled to get the chance to act as his advisor’s assistant and garner a trip to Scotland where they are trying to find connections between the ancient Olympics and the Highland Games. His first day he literally runs into a tall hottie and then sees him again when he’s out at a pub, however the guy seems to di...more

Jackson Stuart is a doctorate student at Boston University, studying for his PhD in Celtic and Gaelic history. He’s on the verge of defending his dissertation when the opportunity arises for him to make a trip to Scotland to study the history of the Highland Games, not to mention it’s an opportunity for Jackson to return to his ancestral roots.
Playing research assisting to BU professor Dr. McKenzie also proves to be quite fortunate, as Jackson meets a tenured professor from Glasgow Uni...more

I was excited to read a story about a strapping Highlander and a geek, but I was a bit disappointed.
Jackson's 'voice' never really worked for me, I liked him well enough, but it seemed a bit dry, I guess, and I know next to nothing about Alexander.
And I wanted more time with Jackson and Alexander together. The story is really short, yet the two MC's never have a conversation and were lucky to exchange names. But they did have sex! :)
I guess to show Jackson coming out of his shell.

This is a very cute short story of Jackson Stuart, a professor who goes to Scotland and meets a gorgeous participant of the Highland Games. Jackson’s ancestors are from Scotland, so he is very happy to be seeing parts of his family’s history, as well as experiencing true Scotland. He meets his dream man, who is wearing a kilt, and decides Scotland may be the place to be.

Absolutely loved it. The twist at the end was quite devious, & if I hadn't already been bummed when I saw how little there was left to read by then, I may have thrown my nook.
It takes a lot to get me that passionate about a story or book these days. Bella did a fantastic job of leaving me wanting more.
I hope she decides to continue with these boys. I'm quite in love with them both.

Oh this is a lovely short story about Jackson, a history doctoral student and his first trip to Scotland. There he meets an enigmatic highlander who is competing in the games that Jackson had come to observe. There is a surprising discovery as to the highlander's identity and I hope that means that there might be some more of their story to be written!
