Just because Claude’s father owns Pendragon Hotel, that doesn’t mean the role of running the hotel was handed to him on a silver platter. Claude had to fight for years to convince his father that allowing his gay son to run a hotel catering to gay men wouldn’t lead to him screwing either the guests or the men who worked there.

Claude’s kept every promise he made his father....more

Poor Claude. He is the heir apparent to the Pendragon Hotel, a place that caters to gay men, a place where a gay man should feel safe, comfortable and able to be himself. Not poor Claude. He promised his father he would remain professional at all times. This comes to mean that he is so distanced and remote, no one knows anything about him. So he is a dominant gay man never looking at the men at work, never participating, never being a part of the group.

Much like the previous book in this series, Naked Truth made me smile – if for very different reasons. To have one of the main characters be a nudist sub, and one who is totally convinced nudity is appropriate in any situation, and the other a totally repressed, closeted control freak is a challenge. Standard Kim Dare fare (ooh! Rhyme time!) if somewhat light on the BDSM and heavy on the nudism. I tend to read Dare for her racy/light BDSM perspective, so, this one just didn't hit me very hard. It's there, it's just not as central to the story as she usually makes it.

In other words, just because Claude is gay does not mean that he is going to use the hotel as his own little pond of Fish. Claude sticks with this businesslike behavior for years until Gavin, the writer for a nudist website, opens his eyes to other possibilities. I liked Claude and Gavin and enjoyed this quick short story. Again, the stories are a little...more

Good short kinky m/m romance about a nudist who seems determined to disrupt the (closeted at work) life of the Pendragon Hotel's manager.
