Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle
I really enjoyed this one! Lady Jane defied her father and became an opera singer and in the process, started receiving letters from the mysterious Mister X. Thinking she found the writer, she marries him only to be deceived. Now, widowed and living close to poverty, she guards her heart and when her childhood friend, Martin Pierce, Duke of Somerset, appears and reveals the truth she is hurt to be deceived all over again. I loved that shy Martin

Enjoyed this Christmas anthology of two short stories.

Merry Christmas Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle
What a romantic treat. I adore Martin Pierce, a very shy 17 year old man who falls deeply in love with his friend, Lady Jane. But, he does not know how to court a twenty two year old adventuress. Therefore he becomes the mysterious Mister X who pens his true feelings to Jane through letters. After eight years of separation they reunite. Two modest, compassionate characters. Once again, Delilah Marvelle captivated me with this touching and sensual friends-to-lovers/ older woman/younger man story.

I adore Martin. I couldn’t help but feel for the shy, reserved seventeen year old, whose self-esteem took a battering from the father who thought his son “was good at nothing but breathing”. Now he is a confident man who decides his own future and is determined to pursue the woman he has always loved. He is kind and

This duology features two fantastic novellas, featuring historical Christmas romances. I would absolutely recommend, since I adored them both.

"Merry Christmas, Mrs Robinson" - I really, really enjoyed this one!! Years ago, Jane fell in love with a secret admirer. A man who called himself only Mr. X sent her beautiful letters... letters she responded to in kind. She had no idea they were coming from Martin, a younger friend who never believed she would return his affection if she knew wh

Merry Christmas, Mrs Robinson

"Your missive? He paused at seeing it. He snatched it up and unfolded it. Whilst reading it, a breath escaped him. Holding her gaze for a long moment, he slowly brought it to his lips and kissed it. Not once, but twice."

This is a darling friends-to-lovers story with a bit of a twist: she's 5 years older than him. Throw in a tiny bit of heroine worship, an 8 year separation and a man who simply loves a woman, and you'll have yourself a great couple of hours of reading

Dear Reader,
Ever wonder what happened to the person you first fell in love with many, many years ago? Ever wonder what would happen if you had a chance to meet them again when you were older and wiser? In my Christmas novella, Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson, I give you a very special re-union between two souls who weren't ready to love when they first met but how Christmas is about to change it all.
Much love and Merry Christmas,

XD

'Merry Christmas Mrs. Robinson' by Delilah Marvelle

This story was extra special to me because of its pairing of the older woman/younger man. In my personal life, I am the older woman...

Lady Jane was only in her early twenties when she decided, and was encouraged by her younger friend Martin, to defy the society and reach for her dream of becoming an opera singer. A decision like that came with a heavy price of being estranged from her family and being shunned by most of the society. I say most,
Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle.
Absolute perfection.
5 you-were-always-the-one solid stars.
Don't let the cheesy title fool you, Martin and Jane's journey back to each other has everything you need: betrayal, self-doubt, heartbreak, loneliness, and longing. Wrapped up in a second chance tale filled with, IMHO, the best witty, tender, and believable dialogue between two main characters I have read in a very long time.

I really enjoyed the All I Want for Christmas is A Duke anthology. Both novellas in this book are heartwarming, romantic, and have just the right amount of heat.

I am familiar with author Delilah Marvelle's writing, and I always enjoy her stories. Being familiar with at least one author, I was eager to read All I Want for Christmas is a Duke, especially Delilah's story, Merry Christmas, Mrs Robinson. After her first marriage ended tragically, Lady Jane had resigned herself to a simple life, separ

This dualogy features two Christmas short stories. Delilah Marvelle's story, Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson, involves a secret admirer and a reunion. I loved the hero in this one. He's slightly younger than the heroine, a little lonely, and determined once he gets a sort of second chance with the heroine. I would've liked to have had the heroine's intimate insecurities explored a bit more. They seemed resolved a little too easily. Otherwise, it's a very sweet romance. 4 stars

The first book in the special edition was by Delilah Marvelle, "Merry Christmas Mrs. Robinson". This is my first read of Ms Marvelle's work. I love the way she creates the characters and sets the scenes. Very detailed and well written. This book is about friends to lover and about second chances. Although the story was part of a novella , I didn't feel cheated ~ well done. The second book, The Twelve Days of Seduction by Maire Claremont was a heartwarming tale of a governess falling for her ward ...more
Delilah Marvelle, Maire Claremont "All I want For Christmas is a Duke"
Two Christmas-themed novellas in a single book. Delilah Marvelle's story about a shy duke and a former opera singer that he has loved forever is sweet (4.5 stars) but Maire Clairemont's had so many grammar errors and typos that I couldn't finish it (1 star).

DNF. Read through most of chapter four before I had enough.

The premise is a good one, but the execution is annoying.

Teen-age heir to a dukedom falls in love with an opera singer three to five years his senior (at one point he is fifteen at another he's seventeen). Though they are friends, he is too shy to express his feelings. So he writes her letters signed Mr X. She writes letters back and over time she falls in love with the mystery man.

Another man finds out about the letters, reads them, the

Two Christmas romances, both featuring Dukes as the heroes. You'd think that these stories would be similar, but beyond that superficial detail, they're not.

The Twelve Days of Seduction by Màire Claremont starts with one of the classic themes, the governess who falls for her employer. Of course, the author adds more layers onto that trope. The governess also falls for her charge, the Duke's somewhat willful daughter. And she also falls for the whole gig. Sh

Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle

The story is about a secret admirer too young and shy, for the woman Jane, he has fallen in love with. Unable to approach her with his feelings he writes her beautiful, passionate letters. He signs them only as Mr. X. She responds, falls in love, and is determined to marry only Mr. X.

Jane is fooled by Mr. Robinson into thinking that it was he that wrote the letters and happily marries him, thinking he's her Mr. X. On the twelfth night of Christma

Have a Duke for Christmas, would you?

There are two fun historical Christmas romances in this book.

Story 1 - Lady Jane gives up her life to pursue her dream singing opera. Then, she falls in love with a certain Mr. X. That right there got me into the story. She exchanges love letters with Mr. X until he supposedly comes forward and asks her to marry him. Soon, she discovers she married the wrong Mr. X, except now it's too late because when she confronts her husband, he has a heart attack.

★★★☆☆ Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle

I quite enjoyed this holiday romance! It's chock full of tropes that I enjoy: friends to lovers, second chances, secret identity, and older woman with younger man. Jane fell in love with the charming and mysterious Mr. X over letters, and wed who she thought was the man behind the moniker. Unfortunately, she had been duped. Her husband only wanted her as a prize, since she was a famed opera singer. When he unexpectedly died, she gave up her

It isn't often that I've read a historical romance where the hero isn't an alpha male. It took some getting used to and by the time I did get used to it, the story was over and I was left wanting more!

Lady Jane is a dreamer but the harsh realities of life soon come crashing in. She is a bit of a martyr, punishing herself in some ways for the mistakes of her youth and in the beginning unwilling to take the

Both authors of All I Want For Christmas Is A Duke are new to me, but I have to say, I certainly wasn't disappointed. I won't give an overview, since most the other reviews have them, but I will comment on each story. There *might* be spoilers, but I will do my best not to add them!

A cute Christmas historical romance. Both novellas in All I Want for Christmas is a Duke were adorable!

Both heroines were a delight. Lady Jane has had to live in poverty because of a mistake for 8 years and that has made her strong. She's disillusioned with love, but, when the right man comes along, she knows to take the chance.
Adriana has had a terrible past, as well, and come through it strong. She's determined and

Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson / Delilah Marville: What a fun story? Jane left her home to pursue her dream of being an opera star. While she had many admirers Mr. X was the one she loved. Only through letters did they communicate until she finally met him and married him-only she didn't. He faked being Mr. X. When Jane confronted him he had an apoplexy and died. 8 years later she no longer is on stage, rather she is teaching and living in a small town.

This is two short stories in one novel, written by two authors, so I would like to review them separately.

Marvelle's short piece was cut, but rushed. Still, she managed to make a fun little quirk of a story. Her characters had severe rough streaks - it was an interesting tale for a short story, I think it worked quite well.

The other story, by Claremont, however, didn't strike me well. Although it was longer so it offered more time for development, I felt it was choppy and confusing. Each chapter

First story is a cautionary tale about romantic love. You’re happy for these two who finally take that leap, eight years later, but it does tarnish the glowy aura of romantic love a tad. Unfortunately there is a problem with the letters from Mr. X [let alone that the fake X, Philip, is ‘dashing, witty, passionate, kind…divine, and completely fooled her, but, sadly, now ‘wasn’t the man she wanted’!! She wants a divorce, so common in this period? Luckily he just dies. Right then!!! And there!!!] A ...more
