Sixteen year old Fallon Braeden is on the road with her mother for what seems like her entire life. Traveling from place to place, school to school, but never really understanding why they are on a constant move. Until one day, when the past and all its hidden secrets catches up to them in a dramatic reveal.

Wow, where do I even begin? There is quite a bit happening in Touching Smoke, so much so that I'm not even sure what I should say. I don't want to spoil anything big since I think half the fu

Touching smoke defies everything I have read as of late. This book was so flipping intense! I have been hours trying to think of something to compare this book with. Congratulations Airicka Phoenix I can not find anything! This book is definitely a intriguing and unique! Seriously no vampires, no werewolf’s, no fairies. Freakin amazing

Loved it!

I am total Isaiah fan! I loved this book. It was sweet, sexy, swoony and extremely entertaining! The whole story kept me up all night and on my toes.

Fallon is just an average girl who travels with her mother in thier old Impala. Sure it's not a typical life for a young girl of 16, but she loves it and loves being with her mother. Every so often they stick around somewhere long enough so her mother can get a little bit of traveling cash. And during that time, her mom puts Fallon up in some prestigious private school with the money her dad left her when he died. Fallon was just a little girl when it happened so she doesn’t know much about him. ...more

I love nothing more than getting to the end of a book and being completely certain that what you've just read will be something that you will read again and again!! Simply because you completely loved it from start to finish and it was so good you didn't want to put it down. That is exactly how I feel about Touching Smoke!!

Fallon and her mum spend their days travelling from place to place never really staying in one spot for too long, only long enough for Fallon's mum to work to save enough mone

Fallon Braeden has never attended a single school consistently in her life. She has never lived in anything apart from hole-in-the-wall motel rooms. All her belongings fit into one duffel bag. She and her mom had always been drifters, moving from place to place, only stopping long enough to resupply on cash before moving out again.

It all changed one day when Fallon began attending a high-end boarding school. After only one week, a massive earthquake consumed the school. Panic and smoke fought to
I have to confess, I knew the author before I read Touching Smoke. Airicka is amazing. She's sweet, smart, witty, thoughtful, selfless and a person everyone wants in their "friend" column. With that said, I started her book wanting to like it. It turns out Touching Smoke was a FABULOUS read and within two pages, I forgot I was reading a friend's book and was totally immersed in the story!

It was original, cleverly written, the plot was deeply layered, and the characters were a joy to read. The ma
Honestly, I couldn't even make it past the first few chapters. The main character, Fallon, is a whiny brat that does not seem to have a brain attached to her.
Her and her mother have been moving across the country since she was very young, only stopping when they run out of money, and then moving on. Of course it never occurs to her WHY they would be doing this. She completely believes everything her mother tells her about world experiences, yadda yadda. When they do stopover somewhere for

Okay, so I'm totally obsessesed with this series now *swoon*

I absolutely LOVE Isaiah, and his relationship with Fallon is just so interesting, adorable, and downright perfect. As a main character, Fallon earned an approving nod from me, too. She's a dangerous weapon, and I love how we really get a sense of her deepest desires and her insecurities with being a murderous monster. She and Isaiah are the perfect match, and my spine tingled during those scenes where Isai

Where to start? Oooh there is just to say. Well lets start with the beginning shall we?
I got to exactly one and a half pages and by that point there was no pulling me away. (It usually takes AT LEAST the first chapter to really pull me in!)
By the time I got to the middle of the book, I wasn't breathing, my heart was beating rapidly and I was in love. Yes, yes indeed.

Fallon, Grade A when it comes to believable characters. Isaiah. . . mmmmmmm Isaiah. Well, lets just say I'm REALLY in love.

It's always difficult to write a review without giving away too many details, but here goes.
This story revolves around a young lady who is coming into her "own." As the story unravels for sixteen-year-old Fallon, she discovers that her “own” causes her to: be haunted by a ghost baring a frighteningly familiar resemblance, be hunted by creatures with unusual abilities, and experience a supernatural draw to a handsome stranger.
The hero is a strong character. Isaiah's memory has been erased, but th
I am honestly not sure why the first time i read this book i have it a 4 star rating when it was so deserving of a five, and i didn't write a review because i didn't really write reviews when i read this the firs time. So here is my chance yay! I chose to re-read this because a) the second one is coming out soon, b) i read this like the same time i was reading another book and i was getting the two confused, i even think the names were similar in both books so it didn't help. So i wanted to re-r ...more

This line captured my attention right away: For sixteen-year-old FALLON BRAEDEN, being on the run had always been a mystery, until the day she starts an earthquake and everything falls apart. Well, as you can see, one must learn more. A sixteen-year-old girl causing earthquakes? My question was: why would a young girl start an earthquake, there seem to be very little benefits from such a disaster. I got out my kindle and set course for a new adventure that promised many things; suspense, fear..

What would you do if you found that your whole life is one big lie that you haven't been qued in on? And your mother seems to always be hiding something moving place to place transferring you from school to school. Well that was the day and life of Fallon. I cannot say that the lead character in Touching Smoke lead a "normal" life by any means. Her mother was hell bent on using the money Fallons father left her for her schooling only and never herself. So whenever Fallons mom was running low on ...more

My Review
Ok, so this review is long overdue because I read this book all in one day about a week ago. For full disclosure, Airicka provided me with a review copy of this story in exchange for my honest review.

Before I launch into details, I have to return to the first sentence in this review. I read this book all in one day. That's right, I slurped it up. It was funny and

Let’s be honest. Life can be pretty complicated for a 16 year-old girl. Think of all the drama you experienced when you were that age. But wait. For Fallon Braedon, her life is about to be turned inside out and upside down to boot. After she finds herself alone and on the run from crazy people who love chucking fireballs at her head, she winds up with a super-cool, super-sexy guy named Isaiah. Oh, he’s the perfect guy. He has a motorcycle, he breaks countertops with his bare hands and, oh yeah,

Fallon is a 16 year old girl that hasn't lived anywhere for very long. Her mother shuffles her from town to town, school to school under the guise of trying to make money. Fallon doesn't understand, she knows that her father left money for her, why won't her mom use it? Why won't her mother tell her anything about her father at all? On the road one night she spots a guy on a motorcycle following them, her mother freaks and causes the biker to hit the ditch, Fallon feels as if her soul has been t ...more
Sometimes it's hard to find a book that goes against the stereotypes of it's genre. Heck, even I'm guilty of doing that in my own writing. We're so comfortable these days reading the same generic stuff, that when something that breaks those barriers come along, it hard not to be totally amazed. And I'm not just saying that because Airicka is a wonderful person (which she totally is) and gave me a copy of the book for review, it's because it just amazing.

I was constantly on the edge with this boo
I really like this book. I am pretty picky about YA and usually am very iffy about reading YA Paranormal because sometimes they are just overwritten and too sentimental. This one was really well written and not overly sentimental. There was a lot of emotion to go along with the twists and turns.

Fallon is a very realistic teen with out being over the top bratty or annoying and a very engaging character. Isaiah is brooding and mysterious without coming off as a stalker.

This is a book that any pa
Love, love, love this one!!! Truly a wonderful read and the writing is engaging, drawing me into the lives of the characters. I couldn't resist the need to continue, reading when I should have been sleeping. This story was well worth being tired the next day.

Hmmm, think I will read it again. I highly recommend this story for anyone who enjoys plot twists, realistic characterizations and page turning fun.

Brilliant words. Thank you to Airicka Phoenix for writing this! I look forward to the next

Not what I was expecting from the description.

Being on the run her entire life, Fallon's life was never normal. While at yet another school, everything changes one night when she has to run for her life. Saved by the sexy Isaiah, she knows he holds the secret that she wants/needs to know but the problem is he can't remember.

Fallon got on my nerves a wee-bit but it was still a really good read.
One of the best books I've read in a while, I couldn't put it down till I got my attention from the beginning, has everything I like, romance, nice and funny dialog, suspense, action and best fiction ever!!
DEFINATELY 5 fantastically, confusing, can't get enough, need more stars!!

Ok that might give you enough clues of this book. What can I say to add to all this. When I started this book I was not really sure I would like it because you never got any answers just a whole lot of confusion and hundreds of questions adding to the list as you read more and more. It was seriously making me so mad!!! I kept getting drawn in and drawn in and hitting the edge of my seat thinking ok now here comes the answe

I had such a hard time doing ANYTHING else while reading this book.(Sorry kids, fix your own dinner night!;) The characters are so addictive!

Fallon is a young sixteen, soon to be seventeen, year old girl, moving place to place with her not so altogether mother. At least that's how she comes across as the beginning. Little did Fallon know that her mother was a part of something she couldn't even comprehend at the time. One of those, if you don't see it for yourself, kinda thi
I won this from the author in a contest off of Facebook. I put it onto my Nook and left it there for a while. Last night, I wanted to sit down and read something to take my mind off of a horrible book I had finished hours before. I instantly got sucked into Fallon's world, and found myself getting carried away in the story. It's interesting, with a lot of action, and not a lot of teenage angst. One thing that I did dislike, was how long it took to get any sort of questions answered--both for th ...more

This book blew me away. It was Can I leave my review at that? No? OK I'll try to elaborate a bit :P

Right from the word go we are thrust into this intense and thrilling story. I really wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did. I don't know what I was expecting from the book after reading the blurb but certainly not that. So first off I have to mention something. I am a total science geek. I love anything to do with science ( I am addicted to The Big Bang Theory) even if mos

Touching Smoke by Airicka Phoenix is a wild ride through young Fallon’s far from normal teenage life. It’s a try-to-catch-your-breath tour through the young heroine’s confusion, danger, exciting curiosities and possibilities.

Being sixteen is tough enough but Fallon isn’t normal and she knows it. Circumstances she doesn’t understand have sent her running with her mother from threats unknown, making any semblance of normalcy impossible. Her life has been this way for as long as she remembers, but

Now, where to start? Hmmm... Got this from the author herself. Thank you, Airicka for this copy! :)

Touching Smoke, I know that it's a YA book and a Paranormal one. I've read the blurb when I first encountered it but since my memory is not that good I forgot about the blurb. BUT I somehow know that it's not Vampires. Maybe I was expecting Faeries or something. Boy, I was wrong.

Plot: The plot is something I haven't read. I mostly read paranormal stuffs like Vampires and werewolves, faeries, warlo
Wow, i didnt quite know.what to expect coming into this book, but i love it. I stayed away from most reviews because i wanted to make sure i made up my own mind about Touching Smoke, and I'm so glad i did i am so in love with this book, i was kept on my toes through out, and it led me all over the place unfortunately it leaves off having me wonder what the hell is going to happen next!! Ugh i hate cliffhanger but i am glad i read this one!! A definitely must read!

This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review.

Fallon and her mom Erin had been on a road trip for as long as she could remember. From one dive hotel to another they crisscrossed the country looking for the next adventure. School was a afterthought, only necessary when Erin had to work to replenish the funds to travel again.
Suddenly, during one of those educational side trips, everything starts to change. Life
