The poems in this collection make me fall in love with words all over again -- simple words, through the author's sometimes melancholy, sometimes comedic, and sometimes nostalgic use of them. Although the collection speaks to serious issues concerning gender, sexuality, relationships with others and oneself, Hagood writes with a playfulness that makes me happy when reading this Lunatic Speak. Highly recommended, even if you don't normally read poetry.

I received this book through Goodreads First Read giveaways. It was not my favorite read however, the author is very imaginative and well written. Several of the poems were filled with humor while others pulled at heart strings. Thank you for sharing.
