Her name was Rhiannon, and she was Earth.

She was graceful, intelligent, and undoubtedly a workaholic. She could put a crack in the Earth’s surface a mile wide and grow the loveliest flower ever to have existed right beside it, a contradiction she held with both reverence and pride. For she herself was something of a contradiction: a girl, seemingly free, but silently trap...more

This story tugs at the heartstrings and I am glad to have read it. Rhiannon needed her own story. She was been an outlying character in the first two where it was painfully obvious that she was deeply misunderstood. She is less relatable for most modern women than Capri and Blythe, the protagonists from the first two books, but that doesn't make her any less sympathetic. Her parents are incapable of showing her their affection and in order to cope with that void Rhia hardens herself. She fashion...more

I really enjoyed this book. It has quite a few sad moments and there were many times I felt frustrated on behalf of Rhiannon. I just wanted to reach through the screen and smack some of the people in Rhia's life. Jennings did a great job of pulling me in to Rhia's story and making me feel with her even as Rhia built walls to protect her heart from feeling too much. The only disappointment I found in this book was in exploring Rhia's past, she didn't show Capri's return. I would have loved to hav...more

Book three of the Dryad Quartet is about Rhiannon, a workaholic that works the earth. She felt the best life was empty of emotion and full of work. Yet she finds herself drawn to Liam whom she has admired since she was a small child. His name was the first word she spoke. The story of Rhia is not as exciting as the first two stories and is helpful background for the fourth story in the quartet. "A Life Earthbound" is a coming of age story of a young girl and hard working young woman that must ba...more

This book starts off with Rihannon's birth, which was very different from the first two. It was fascinating to watch Rhiannon grow up and see what turned her into the woman she became. I felt bad for her sometimes and other times she frustrated me, especially in regards to her tumultuous relationship with Liam. I really enjoyed this book. I think it's the best in the series so far.

A Life Earthbound Left Me Spellbound

I adored A Life Earthbound by Katie Jennings. The vivid and detailed back story on Rhiannon, as well as all of the other characters, was exceptional and added even more depth to this wonderful series. Jennings has a knack of creating such rich and compelling characters that you can't help but feel they are your friends.

Jennings manages to achieve excellent continuity in her series for each book, as well as maintaining several complex storylines interwoven int...more

The third in the series, much like the first is slower moving. It gives more background info and more of an insight into Rhiannon's personality. I really like the book and the progress that Rhiannon made. Had to start on Liam's story immediately. Can't wait to finish this series.

This 3rd book in the series started really slow but the last half of the book picked up nicely....even made a little sense out of why the beginning had less activity than the other books. Looking forward to the last book in the series.

Nothing can compare to the exhilaration of discovering, at last, a mode of release for the imagination. Mine came, after years of struggling to visualize my creativity, in the form of written word. I found myself with my nose constantly in a book, absorbing the life of the characters and the beauty of the setting. It was intoxicating, to say the least, and the only thing I knew was that I wanted t...more
