Just finished!!! LOVED IT!!! Can I please have book 6 RIGHT NOW!!! Katie & Owen are so great together! So glad book 6 is out this year... not too long of a wait to get back to my FAVORITE series!

This is a good read as the previous books in this series have been. It's not my favorite and I find myself thinking that the plot line is occasionally too simplistic. As a supernatural type book, the books are pretty good. As a romance book it is less than ideal. I like all types of romance books from the steamy steamy novels to the very old fashioned 1800's little house on the prairie type stuff. This book makes me want to have any other two characters get together though because neither one se ...more
CANNOT WAIT!!!! I LOVE this series and was devstated when book 5 was not forthcoming. Thank you Shanna.

Updated after reading. Great to see the end of the main story arc. As always I enjoyed Katie's practical views of the magical world. Would have like to see a little more interaction with characters from previous books but loved the addition of Nita. I especially loved how she had a plan in place at the hotel for moving celebs.

4 years. That's how long I've been waiting for the conclusion of Shanna Swendson's Enchanted, Inc. series. I missed Katie Chandler. I missed Owen Palmer. And I missed the myriad of characters populating Swendson's world. And just when I'd come to terms with not knowing how these characters would end up, Shanna Swendson's 5th book of the series pops up on NetGalley. And all was well with the world. In this final installment, Katie

This book was a long awaited 5th book in a series. I read the first four books 2 years ago and have been dying for this 5th book. So, finally it came! Yay!

I love the characters in this book and the ending was awesome and not predictable!

Everything else I have to say contains spoilers, so please skip this if you haven't read the series.

Please scroll for the spoilers:

I loved how the book started out and just dived into the main conflict. The characters are so much fun and have been well developed

I remember when I finished "Don't Hex with Texas" thinking, for the first time, 'she should self-publish the next book because the publishing houses are obviously too stupid to know a good thing when they see it'. So I was thrilled when I read earlier this year that Ms Swendson announced that she'd decided to do just that with the fifth book, Much Ado About Magic. I had it on my e-reader as soon as it was available, and finished it the same day.

The story didn't disappoint - long held secrets rev
I love this series. (Yes, it's flaky and offbeat, but sometimes one needs that...) This one wasn't my favorite in the set (that'd be "Once Upon Stilettos") but the plot drew me in as it went along. The ending took me COMPLETELY off guard - but not necessarily in a bad way. I'm curious to see where she takes the series next, though. [For those of you who read it: I'm guessing we're going to find out more about Sylvia Meredith and what goes on with Philip's family.] I must say, I loved getting Owe ...more

Really enjoyed this one! So many twists turns and revelations in this book! I kind of feel bad for Owen though considering he loses his magic but it may not be permanent so I wonder if it will return in the next book or two? I mean in some ways it makes things easier for him but in other ways it's such a part of him that I can't begin to imagine how he must feel losing it!

I think in other ways with the secrets revealed his learned how much the people in his life care about him with how they step
Much Ado About Magic started off a bit slower then I am used to and I had to really push myself to keep reading. I am glad I did. Once I got past the first few chapters things really picked up and got interesting.

Katie was once again amazing. Not only did she keep a level head but she was able to deduce what was going on magically without any assistance from the colleagues she usually relied on.

Owen did not disappoint. In a lot of ways Much Ado About Magic was his story. One thing I loved was
Katie is back it NYC and the addiction to the series continues. Enchanted Inc. is the fifth in the series from author Shanna Swendson. This is a fun chick series that is a mystery, an adventure, and a romantic comedy which is lighthearted, magical, and fun.

There are characters you'll love and remember. The heroin, Katie, is “completely ordinary” in a universe of magic. This is a good thing.

For adults the series is “Alice in Wonderland” and “Harry Potter” all rolled into one. It is a mystical rom

Much Ado About Magic is the fifth installment in the Enchanted, Inc. series by Shanna Swendson. Katie Chandler is back in New York and hoping to pick up where she left off. However, she does not get her old job back at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., instead she gets a big promotion and is soon neck deep in trouble again. There is a magical crime wave sweeping through the city, and MSI's less than ethical competition is selling counter spells to the attacks. However, they are also the ones b ...more

I really, REALLY loved the first book in this series, Enchanted, Inc, and while I have enjoyed books 2-4 as well, they never really got to the same level as Enchanted, Inc. I hadn't really expected there to be a book 5, but when I saw it up on NetGalley, I couldn't resist, because this is is just such a fun series!

Basically, I would love to be Katie Chandler. As a 20-something she discovers about magic and gets to work at a magical company and her bos

Much Ado About Magic is the fifth book in the 'Enchanted, Inc' series but is my first introduction to both the series and the author, Shanna Swendson. Thankfully, the book stands alone very well, hopefully without giving away too much of a spoiler for the earlier books. And the verdict? I loved it!!

As I devoured the story, I couldn't help thinking about its origins and whether it started out life as a kind of Harry Potter fan fiction with an older audience in mind; with Ench
While the past four years have been a bit of a wait, it's a lovely experience to wait so long for a next book in a series, to fall right back into the world without a hitch, and to have it be a very good book besides.

I find this series calming. The primary characteristic of protagonist Katie is that she's practical. Sometimes boringly sensible, and sometimes quite unemotional--the narration sometimes throws me because there is no mention of her emotions during some scenes, like when she was bein

This, by FAR, is my favorite book in the series. In the beginning of the series, I thought Katie was a little naïve for her age and the story was a little fairytale-ish. Katie – who just found out magic exists – waltzes into MSI, receives a promotion and is giving advice to a thousand-year-old wizard for “brilliant” ideas that were more-or-less common sense. There were quite a few “well duh” moments when the answers to a conflict or problem were basi

I'm absolutely astounded this series hasn't gone mainstream viral. The creativity is unparalleled; it has such a unique take on the subject of magic and wizards. I love how Katie is just an ordinary girl, with literally no magical abilities whatsoever, but she is still so valuable and such an integral part of the magical world. It's the stuff dreams are made of, for an ordinary girl to have such an extraordinary life.

Now, about Owen, our hero, what can I say that hasn't already been said? He's s

The long awaited 5th book in the Enchanted Inc Series will be available this summer as an E-book. For fans of series, this installment answers many of the questions posed in the first 4 books. Readers will learn more about the elusive Owen Palmer and his origins while being treated to the usual cast of hysterical characters.

For Much Ado About Magic Shanna Swendson returns the story to New York City where let's face it, is where Katie Chandler and her friends do their most interesting work. The

Enchanted Inc is one of my favorite series because it's a mixture of my love for chick lit, a good witchy story, and magic. Plus, Owen Palmer is just so adorable, I couldn't help but add him to my book boyfriends. Thankfully, Much Ado About Magic did not lose its charm and I enjoyed the book very much. In fact, I'm aching to read the next book but I have to stop myself for Holy Week.

First, let me say that I was pleasantly surprised to even find this book. I thought the series was over. So, when I saw the quirky little drawings on the cover, my eyes were immediately drawn to the book and I got a smile on my face. My day had been exhausting, so the fact that Swendson wrote another story about Katie and the gang managed to cheer me right up.

I read this book over two weeks ago and I keep intending to write a review, but haven't been able to bring myself to do it. I ha
The Enchanted Inc/Katie Chandler novels are easily some of my favourite books. They have just the right blend of elements to make me inordinately happy when I read them, and I'm nearly always in the mood to reread them. I felt the fourth book ended well, but I still wanted to read more about Katie and Owen and Merlin and Rod and all the rest.

So I was extremely happy when I found out Shanna Swendson would be publishing the fifth book in the series as an ebook. I carefully marked the release date

Much Ado About Magic, by Shanna Swendson, is the fifth installment of the Enchanted, Inc. series. It's a delightfully easy read, a perfect book for summer, as long as you are truly not expecting much ado about magic. In fact, there is very little magic about the story. The world within the plot is a world of magicians, normals who are susceptible to magic, and individuals, such as the protagonist Katie Chandler, who are magic-immune. Katie can't feel magic, can't see the effects of magic, and - ...more

Book #5 in the Enchanted, Inc., series begins with Katie Chandler returning to New York City just in time to become embroiled in a propaganda war between her employer, MSI, and their rival, Spellworks. A series of dark spells has the magical community flocking to Spellworks for protection amulets and bracelets, never realizing the whole thing is part of a more sinister plot. Katie's boyfriend, Owen, is working feverishly to reverse-engineer the spells and find a way to neutralize them before the ...more
Much Ado About Magic (Enchanted, Inc., #5) RATING: 3.5 stars-ish.

Much Ado about Magicis the much anticipated (at least by me, because I really like these books; they're just too sweet and cute) fifth book in the Enchanted, Inc series.

Katie Chandler returns to New York to ask for her old job back, at Magic, Spells and Illusions (MSI). She is has a rare immunity to magic that is very valuable to magical folk since she can spot hidden clauses in contracts and see through glamours. Her former boss,

A welcome continuation to the series, wrapping up many of the loose ends that made the fourth book so irksome as a series ender.

Considering the author put this one out herself, I was a tad worried. However, as the updates kept coming in and Ms. Swendson announced she'd landed the same editor used for the previous volumes, I became eager to dive in. The result is a polished, professional piece that shows the merit of self-pub when in the right hands. I'm so happy the author went ahead with

I was happy to see the Enchanted Inc. series back in print, even if it is only available for kindle. I've enjoyed this series where the heroine (Katie Chandler from Texas) has a very special power. She is totally lacking in magical power, and that makes her immune from magic. This ability makes her life in NY very confusing until she goes to work for Magic Spells and Illusions (MSI), a company founded--and run--by Merlin.
In this, the 5th book in the series, Katie is back in NY after a brief retu

I really enjoyed this book, although the "bad guy" was very obvious. I think that was intentional, but you still figure it out before the protagonist does. I really liked the ending of this book. It was a little more of a surprise ending than the other books were. I also liked that we finally find out who is behind all of the mischief in this book, rather than constantly having the same guy as the perpetrator. I'm interested to find out what happens in the next book.

I have to admit, when I first picked the book up out of the box, I was disappointed at how thin it was after such a long wait. Sometime after the fourth book was published, the author said that there wouldn't be any more books in the near future because of the Publisher. Recently (after join GoodReads no less) I found out there was not ONE but TWO new books in the series. I put them both in my Amazon cart (along with another book I was also missing from another author and series) and purchased t ...more

Once upon a time ...

A little girl learned to amuse herself by making up stories in her head. She turned everyday activities into exciting adventures, and she made up new adventures for characters from her favorite movies, TV shows and books. Then one day she realized that if she wrote down those stories, she'd have a book! But that was crazy, she thought. Real people don't become novelists. That w
